They need to fix combat, thralls and a whole bunch of other sht before I install it again! I really loved this game, but they kept on messing with things that never needed changing! Combat was fine! Then they fcked it up! Thralls were fine! Then they fcked that up too. Just add things...don't change existing things! Game is unplayable for me and they broke one of my favorite mods countless times to a point where the author of the mod didn't want to update it anymore!
I have been consistently disappointed with each update. I never asked for the majority of the implementations so much so I decided not to purchase the game when it left game pass
This is the best survival game ever made we can't let it die please if anyone who sees this who cares about this virtual world show love in the comments
I'm glad IF they actually fix stuff. So many devs *cough* Wildcard *cough* break more things with every so-called fix. If Funcom can fix the major issues and put down a healthier foundation for future updates then I'm all here for it. When this game does go into full maintenance mode, I'd rather be able to play it with as few bugs as possible than still be stuck with a buggy mess.
Agreed, they've said good words, but good action must follow. If they actually pull it off, it'll be a complete 180 turn, at least for a while. It's pretty clear there's still money to be made on Conan though, and if they keep introducing Bazaar assets whilst fixing the game, I can potentially see their cash flow actually increase a bit
@Eradicati0nn if the stuff in the bazaar was a lil cheaper they'd have a steady flow from me. I cant pay what they want for 3 pieces compared to what I used to get. It actually may be good if they made it free to play the base game.
They will simply slowly abandon the game, hiding behind a "fix things before" communication. This is just a sign that they will totaly switch to Dune in some times.
They put out a good game with plenty of content that can be played both solo or with other people. As far as I'm concerned, they delivered everything promised and more and I'm grateful for what they've done. They just need to make a schedule to cycle through the different ages so we can keep experiencing them. I would also like to give a proper shout out to the modding community for all their contributions as well.
I really hope they can manage to finally fix some of these long-standing issues..... however, let's be honest here..... we've heard, sooooo many times, that they're working on these for literally YEARS, it's really difficult to believe that they're finally getting serious about fixing issues for good. Fingers crossed. Personally, I'm not counting on it.
Agreed, they've said over and over they'll work on it, though this is a bit of a step beyond "we'll get it fixed" and puts exclusive focus on it, it's perhaps the most honest I've ever seen Funcom be in terms of the issues at hand. Had it been another "we commit to getting these fixed" with no real action, I'd be in the same boat of thinking little will change. They've declared what's happening, but they still need to follow it up
Sometimes bugs are just not fixable unless you make major changes, which is why it's sometimes better to just create a whole new game from scratch. I'm the same as you, hopeful but not counting on it.
Don't forget they do have a new game. It's called Dune. My guess is they have stopped working on Conan to focus on Dune. "Bug fixes" is just excuse to explain why no new content scheduled for future.
I’ll always be grateful for the thousands of hours I got out of it. It was such a breath of fresh air from the endless crop of high fantasy and medieval European fantasy we are inundated with. Plus, I loved building out private servers, and custom dungeons. Time will tell, but I’m happy I got a lot out of it when I did.
What I read into that is "Dune Awakening is our total interest now and we have reduced our staff to work on a new game that peaks our interest and we are going to let this game die"
This. And its wishful thinking taking anything else from the message. People must not be fluent in corpo-speak. He basically said that he’s putting the game down.
Now they're finally taking a stand on the mistakes they've made and want to rectify them, then someone comes along again and turns it the other way round.
@@DmytroBogdan Someone on reddit posted a picture of them spending $50 cus of the blog post. Maddening imo. They havent done anything yet and they are spending.
This community note of the producers sounds a little bit like the one from last year: fix bugs, stabilize the game. The difference this time: they will stop further development. Problem is: the foundation of the game and its map is already buggy. You can see this already when you are working with the devkit. They even said this in the note: “Conan Exiles was not actually intended to be a “game as a service” when we developed and first released it into Early Access in 2017. We hoped to recoup the costs of development and make enough money for our next project.” And “Over time, keeping up with this ambitious release plan has become increasingly difficult. Conan Exiles development is complex because we must balance new development with the need to address long-standing issues brought on by years of expanding a game that was never built for it.” You can’t fix a game which already has an unstable basement. Conan Exiles was never meant to be a long term development game. So what is a realistic goal: they will fix the most annoying bugs and keep on trying to sell overpriced Bazaar content after that, trying to use this game as a long term cash cow. I don’t believe in this strategy. More Players will leave in the next 3 months and if they don’t reach the goal this game will die in 2025. So what should they do instead? Stop development was a wise decision, keep this. Get rid of the recurring buggy content like events and quests. Decrease the prices in the Bazaar. Open the game, even Siptah to modders. Then it will live a little bit longer. And if you want to make a better Conan Exiles then build it from scratch in Unreal 5.5 or higher.
This was so expected. They are pulling out of this title to focus on Dune. They just need us to keep buying stuff so they tell us it is still alive. This has "Maintenance" written all over it.
I have to admit that since last patch i did not have really annoying bugs, well Freya's and Liu Fei quests are sometime bugged but i have now 10 freyas and 10 liu fei and i have always been able to finish their quests. All you need is patience and switch to the other one when one is stuck, it always end up by working. I do not have anymore disapearing thralls on my server, well half of the workers do do the settlement tasks and just stay at their workbenches, cooks, blacksmiths, sorcerers, armorers, taskmasters work fine but carpenters, tanners and some others don't. Besides this i can't say that i had bugs, well the usual fall through foundations that happens with some thralls depending on locations and the annoying rubberbanding when i spawn. That rubberbanding is quite annoying if you are disconected (happens very rarely) as you are sometimes spawning close to ennemies and you can't move for one minute! So if their plan is to fix as much bugs as possible before adding new ones, i'm ok with this.
Best Conan news I could ask for fix the thralls just standing there watching you fight during battles and fix the item sorting issues! Can’t move stuff from inventory to my hot bar ect!
I agree. This is really good news and I want to Thank Funcom for taking this step. Spring 2025 is not that far away. I was surprised to hear this fix/patch might land that soon. If the game does get fixed (or real close to it) and if Funcom reduces the cost of their Bazaar items I know I'll be more than happy to keep playing and start buying.
I think this is a good thing. You could add a couple of cosmetic additions along the way to keep people seeing new things, but nothing game changing until most glitches are fixed.
Agreed, there's enough for players to sustain themselves on for a while if the big issues are fixed ASAP. Most people are likely driven away by the bugs, especially the most loyal ones, so just stabilizing the game for a while will make it more enjoyable for the people that are already here
Thanks for keeping us in the loop o' mighty Coffee Lord! I want to be cynical about this, but i do know it will benefit the game in the long run. And kind of in time for me, i feel like i'm trying to keep a burner lit for the game, and i'm not getting anything from it.
Cynicalism is expected tbh, only the most ardent optimists will be purely positive about this letter 😂 They've said the right words, but now they have to prove it. I hope they will
i'm not against no more new content, i'm in the ''bring QoL and fixes'' gang. looking forward to the future of conan exiles. hoping to be able to fully enjoy the living settlement without thralls dissapearing
On the fence about it. Of course a break to stabilize the game would be good news, if they can do it. On the other hand, I wonder if this announcement is the softening the blow of Conan moving into maintenance mode. Let's hope they achieve their goals and resume business as usual, but in light of the battle pass system getting axed with little content produced since, I'm sceptical.
I don't see it myself, it's the first time the devs have acknowledged the state of the problems to such a degree. I feel like a move towards maintenance mode would have been much quieter, this is monumental in respect to honesty about the issues. I imagine the Battle Pass itself wasn't super successful, hence it's removal, making the items for it likely ate up a lot of time, and would have been even less successful with the move to 6 month updates. It's an engagement mechanic at the core of it, and it progressed a bit too fast for consistent engagement, plus the slew of bugs stopped most people from being able to be happily engaged with the game as a whole
@@DmytroBogdan They should not have allowed players to earn their Crom coins back by completing the pass imo. It was very easy to complete, and they'd make nothing from any player that did it.
@@Eradicati0nn Hope you're right, but as far as future content goes, what form do you think it will take? A new map or map expansion probably isn't coming, and battlepass is gone. Do you think it will be content-light updates like the Age of Heroes and Bazaar items from now on?
@Aggrobiscuit should/shouldn't... It wouldn't changed overall poor strategy and marketing. I assume they deliberately released incomplete sets in cheap BP so people would complete them through bazaar.
Finally, I can play again this game continuosly. I stopped quite some time ago. When I wanted to come back some "age" content was on. And content and updates were on 90 days schedule. It became just too much. Now, this is a wonderfull news!
Totally agree with you on the communication side of things - I think they definitely need to give us a roadmap of fixes, and keep updating it monthly throughout the year
Mek-Kamoses saw it coming. The end of the Exile Lands. "A hungry doom ready to swallow us all." This 'letter' is a way to say 'we're done, let's bet all our eggs on Dune and if it doesn't work we still have you Exiles around'. Just in case 🤨
All right. The problem is that fantasy worlds attract more people, and they abandoned this world a long time ago, even though this game had huge potential. In fact, Conan was never developed, the only serious step was to add horses and then curves. I don't know what you think, but I think Dune is absolutely useless to anyone, especially judging by what they've done - it's a raw and boring product, half of which consists of the same raw conan. I won't wish these fools any luck.
I am 100% in favor of this move. Conan Exiles is a fantastic game, and if they get it running better, I would enjoy it much more than if they keep adding new things, while the game runs horribly.
All I want is fixing the living settlements for xbox. Thralls still teleport to different locations and disappear and I haven't been able to properly play since living settlements came in.
The living settlements update killed the Xbox official server that I played on. Everyone gave up. There were a bunch of longtime players that just walked away.
make the game healthy! best way to go! I had so many bugs and crushes! I even lost 250h of gameplay once! still, I love the game and I hope in 2026 you can say: conan runs pretty good!
Conan Exiles was lambasted for it's inability to provide what was originally promised. An open world sandbox of epic proportions. Instead, they rewrote their ToS for official servers and began wiping the offensive latency inducing player structures from the map. Their new game Dune: Awakening looks to be following in the same footsteps, but is possibly focusing more on story than grand base building. Still, Conan Exiles remains to this day as one of the best sandbox survival games ever made. You just can't have more than 20-40 people per server, unless you restrict base structures to a minimum.
I play on official 1522, Freya is broken still (cant do her quest) as well as the other one . I lost all my workers , all T4's and all my fighters because i didnt log in for 3 days but my base was fine...go figure, they MUST fix timers and companion quest . I'll never ever ever look at Dune until they fix Conan. I hope they are serious !
I read it and was happy about it. In my opinion the best thing they can add, is stability and bugfixes. They seem to take us serious, let's see how it will turn out. Thanks to all that community, who got loud to fight for these changes ♥
Wonder if they would get the game to a stable state so that they can work on a sequel, like a CE2 or a Conan Exiles online. something more long term projected.
Potentially. I'm not sure how much work done on CE1 could port over to a potential remaster/remake, but if some can be ported, cleaning it up would help immensely
This sounds like a good plan provided they follow up on it. If Funcom takes the year (or however long) to focus on game health rather than adding to the game & it turns out well, I’d consider it time well spent.
Funcom has talked the talk but needs to walk the walk now. With their track record of being silent or ignoring complaints/feedback I'm not holding my breath but this is literally my main request from the devs and it seems like theyre finally going to be doing it. We'll see how long this current track lasts and if they follow through or not.
There are enough modders out there that are still passionate about the game to keep new content for people, I think this is a good move if they stick with it. More communication is a must, some kind of news letter a couple times a month or even a progress video once a month or couple of months would be nice. I also think they need to work with some of the most popular modders of the most popular mods to ensure they just don't break them too, mods and modders are keeping the game alive on PC until when or if a Conan II comes out. Perhaps they can work a deal on allowing mods on console too, though Sony would be a tougher nut to crack.
Positive take: Good on you for the positivity of your coverage of this announcement and not fearmongering like others have done with their videos. Negative take: Shame on you for the clickbaity thumbnail... Shame...
I’d honestly just like them to give us the option to turn be old purge system back on, have server transfers for private servers and re spec the pets, like they promised. In the current state, they may as well take the babies out of the game and save on server memory. They’re not even worth grinding for the alphas anymore.
If they actually fix the game, that's great news. I won't be returning until they confirm they won't touch it again but hopefully this will fix the issues
Great decision, if you ask me. I didn't think they would do something like that. The "Age of Bugfixing" was a longstanding joke in the CE community and I never thought it becomes reality. Especially that many ppl pointed out the game has a spaghetti code and it's incredibly hard to unwind it all and fix it. I'm all for new stuff and content, but if the game has so many bugs that a lot of people are unable to enjoy it and/or even play it at all, then it's time to stop and repair what needs to be repaired.
I hope this is true, fixes are more important right now than new content. I've always thought that this game is hard for people to learn because everything is so broken it's hard to understand the games rules, what does the game actually not allow you to do vs stuff you can't do just because something is bugged/broken. Unless you've been playing this game for a very long time it's very hard to understand the rules and what you are and aren't suppose to be able to do. For example, I recently returned to Conan after a 3 year break and I've upgraded all my altars to level 3 altars and they don't have beams like they use to, I don't even bother trying to fix it or find out if there's something different we need to do now to get the beams because I just assume it's broken but I don't know...are the altars beams just broken/bugged right now or do I need to do something else like get priests for their to be a beam? I don't know because this game is so buggy and broken it could be either, it could be anything.
I was pretty excited to see the letter dropped! I'd personally love to see them further develop the mechanics of the living settlements and the companions, but beyond that, I'm pretty pleased to hear that they're planning on trying to fix so many old issues. Hopefully it'll be positive changes for the game, and maybe present a way for them to move forward with bigger updates in the future.
Even if they pick back up with updates a similar size to what we've had so far, it'll just be far more enjoyable without everything being constantly broken if they can clear the bug backlog. It's been the number one issue for a while, and it pretty much effects everything, from single player to modded servers and everything in between
@@Eradicati0nn Totally agree! I personally haven't been too affected by bugs, but I know they've plagued many servers and many players. Priority should definitely be given to making this game work well for those who love it.
I think that is a good path forward, but at the same time, I also feel that for Core players, who don't play PVP, there isn't much more we can do. The objective is either move on from the game or create a Conan Exiles 2, with different maps and challenges.
Appreciate the detailed breakdown! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (mistake turkey blossom warfare blade until bachelor fall squeeze today flee guitar). How can I transfer them to Binance?
I'm very lucky that I've only had a couple of crashes and only experienced a couple of occasional bugs/glitches that haven't really been too much trouble. Not sure if it's because I only play single player. I bought the game for the base building more than anything else. The only thing I'd like the devs to do is to add weather to Siptah and detail it more to the standard of the Exiled lands or to the custom maps of Savage wilds etc, Also fix the bazaar, I'd rather have everything available at the same time instead of having to wait weeks for the possibility of the thing I want coming around. I really love this game, I have 436 hours so far and have been playing it for at least 6 hours a day since I bought it. ...and gently sloping ramps instead of 45 degree ones would be really nice too :)
I just want new maps. Another stand alone map like isle of siptah would be awesome. Personally i could not care if my black smith can walk to a well or eat a big bowl of nothing. Especially if they get stuck on things or worse just disappear from my game. Was cute first time i saw cook sleeping in bed but rather just have new areas to explore maybe new animals to fight.
Thanks for the info. I have been taking a break from the game. The living settlements update killed the Xbox server that I played on. A lot of longtime players gave up on Conan. I like bug fixes. I'm concerned about the future of the game though. This feels like the beginning of the end to me.
I for one appreciate a honest letter - for once. The instability and bugs of Conan Exiles has for many years been regognized by us who work within IT as symptoms of 'quick and dirty' coding. But it was always some bad excuse coming from Funcom instead of honesty. Who still remember the statement of 'no horses in Conan. Not possible due to Unreal engine limitation'? Very hard to understand since there were other games, with the same engine, where you could drive cars. Then one-two years later - horses! No explaination how that happened (but probably due to influx of talented people). Many years of gaslighting. So this new letter feels good. Good if they spend time to prepare for the future but a bit of waste unless they know what they are trying to achieve. I really hope they create a solid fundation for future content. But. This requires a vision and a goal of what CE shall become. I still believe that the game design, and not only the code, is messy and not well structured. It is all over the place. This also needs to be addressed during this time of quality work .- otherwise they will paint themselves into a corner once more. I also think lore should be more integrated to the game, now it is more like a scenery imo. Beautiful scenery that is, but still only a scenery. Can be so much more in order to create a living world.
I've suggested this myself, a living document, Trello board or just a simple pinned forum post with bug severity and progress would do a lot to keep the community informed
Interesting. I guess we'll see how this plays out. Unfortunately, if they don't improve their communication with the player base, we won't be able to judge what they're actually doing. I doubt they're going to be dropping updates every week. I think we'll be extremely lucky if they drop updates with the fixes once a month. But suspect it will be more than likely 2-3 months between updates. By my guess, we are looking at probably at least a year before this done playing out, if not longer. There's just too many problems for them to solve all of this any time soon.
I suppose it really depends how much they save by not having to develop new content. I imagine stuff like Bazaar assets don't take up loads of development bandwidth, but stuff like Living Settlements, the tavern system etc, probably eat up the majority. If they can pivot that time effectively to diagnosing and fixing issues, we might see a large chunk of them culled. Agreed 1000% on communication. I've said a few times now I want to see a living document, like a Trello board or even a regularly-updated list with bug priorities and progress. I've suggested it internally to the devs too, hopefully it's something they pick up on. It'll be nice if the Spring update just demolishes a tonne of bugs, but I wanna hear the progress before then too
Not the news we want, but the news is good if they can follow through. I am curious how much effort will be required for updating for future expansion as opposed to starting from the ground up on a new game in UE5? Still making the current game and content playable and having the underpinnings to make new content work from release would be very welcome. Time will tell. Hopefully the devs will not go mental having nothing but bug crushing for a couple cycles.
I can't say for certain on the weighing of fixing the current product vs making a new one on UE5, I know this version of the game will never get updated to UE5 though, it'll create about a year's worth of engine work. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if a remaster/remake in the style of ASA comes around eventually after Dune's died down a bit, especially if they outsource some of the remaster work. PS4 and Xbox will hold the game back on the technical side, and eventually they'll need to upgrade and future-proof
Yes, this age was so buggy i actually quit playing just a week or two in. Add the fact that i lost most of my thralls and had my bases on two different servers decay way sooner then normal. I will come back to Conan but not in this state. I will wait until they fix things.
I would love to see Maxis/EA do this with Sims 4 to fix bugs from launch in 2014!. Granted, it would likely take at least 2 years or more to fix the game. And EA's business model is Profit>People...
This is good news, the Games one of my favourites, but recently it's got too buggy and has stopped being as much fun. I'm glad they've decided to do this
it tels me they are paying attention to what we have said, even out of hand. I have seen content creators come in do some great vids then disappeainmg and go to other games because of issues they had with conan. it's normal, but it is happening. Firespark as an example of a personality that got disgruntled with the game for example. it eventually happens and content creators do leave for one reason or another. but addressing what has been said for years now about some day one breaks as well as ones that showed up as time passed. Honestly people do and will not stay around for new pretty walls, they stay because of immersion and how smooth that immersion is.
Actions not empty words. When the incompetent management and ownership does what they should have 5 years ago, then and only then they might get the benefit of doubt. Since the beginning their comms, regular or irregular, popular or unpopular have made the game worse with time, not better. I will repeat the mantra, that this game has only two things working for it, the intellectual property and free mods, all else the company and various interns they hire has worked against it.
Well I’m pretty much done with Conan but this gives me hope for dune hopefully they learn from their mistakes with Conan and focus more on quality over quantity
i go along with everything you said, especially about communication, but i do not trust them any more, not a bit and i do not think any big improvments will come end of month nor april.
The fact they called the game a 'one and done' whilst it lacked so many features on launch is an extremely questionable move. It seems like they had no forethought to continue -at all- and only recently got their head on straight and by that point (Age of War for example) they were too busy playing catch up rather than leading the curve. Disappointing honestly.
One and done was a paraphrase, the actual quote is here: "Conan Exiles was not actually intended to be a “game as a service” when we developed and first released it into Early Access in 2017. We hoped to recoup the costs of development and make enough money for our next project." Layman's terms would define that as a one and done, it's not their wording though. It certainly ended up far more popular than they imagined, and from what little I know of game dev, live services games operate best when they're built with that expansion capability from the start. If it's not there, they run into problems like what we have now
Scheduled server wipes, what Rust does, It will solve so many problems. But no more "content" releases until they fix the base game bugs is, finally, the best news to get!
If memory serves, they've completely ruled out server wipes. I think Dennis said something like "deleting years of people's work is a good way to lose them as a player". I was initially in support of the idea of wipes, but I can see Dennis' logic. Official servers are predicated on permanence, but if they opened a few new servers with regular resets, I'd be interested to see how they play out
I'm happy to see at least one game i play taking the right route in 2025. I've noticed that other games have been focusing a lot on making more money at the cost of the gameplay experience its a huge slap in the face to the players. Valorant for example just released a new skin bundle that cost $95 but the items in the bundle are not worth half that much and the whole community knows it and Riot aren't the only ones doing these predatory practices. Gaming is taking a turn for the worst it seems.
The industry as a whole is pretty rocky. I don't play many mainstream titles too much, but the few I do play (Call of Duty) are an utter mess, not only in terms of monetization, but just how shady and riddled with problems the products are
@@DmytroBogdan I dont buy skins. I would never waste my money on skins in valorant. I just dont like the predatory tactics that these companies are using.
Since October still waiting the fixes on xbox series x. They should sell the game to another company more responsible about doing things right to this great game.
Look, how many times have "games with potential" keep ending up worse or abbandoned? It's either they refuse to reach that "potential" on purpose or they don't have what it takes. The reason why we can never have anything nice. 😑
I want to believe. But I've also read the producer letters for the past three years, and the content of this one seems too similar to previous ones... Would love to be proven wrong. But Funcom has earned the jade glasses I view them thru
A sequel definitely isn't happening any time before Dune's early access launch, and I'd be surprised if it comes before full release (depending on how long that takes). I do think a sequel/remaster in the style of Ark Survival Evolved (hopefully without the controversy) is something Funcom might do though For now, I'm willing to believe they're actually focusing on patching it and cleaning it up for future updates so everything isn't broken. They've said the words, but now they need to have action
Wow. It took them this long to prioritise making sure the game actually works. Better late than never eh? Oh good, I'll be able to log on and actually play after almost 3 months.
What do you think of this new plan? I'm optimistic, but now the words have been said, action must follow.

Cmon bro click bait?
I have been consistently disappointed with each update. I never asked for the majority of the implementations so much so I decided not to purchase the game when it left game pass
Thanks for the update, sounds both reasonable and promising...

I wish they kept adding DLC instead of the cash store thing. I could see what new stuff I wanted and weigh if I wanted to buy it or not.
I love that they are addressing such issues and stability problems. They really needed to work on the foundation of the game before adding more.
This is actually good news. The modders will be especially happy with this

Obvisouy fogot they meant. "We will attend to it in two buissness years."
Yea the vibe of this world is great. wish a Conan exiles 2 was on the horizon but unfortunately not.
A couple of smart individuals in ocean of gullible children

we saw it happen to red dead redemption
Long awaited Age of Bugfixes
Oh they will still be making new content... for the bazaar of course.
And people who can't restrict themselves will still buy it.
We hoped to recoup the costs of development and make enough money for our next project.”
And
“Over time, keeping up with this ambitious release plan has become increasingly difficult. Conan Exiles development is complex because we must balance new development with the need to address long-standing issues brought on by years of expanding a game that was never built for it.”
You can’t fix a game which already has an unstable basement.
I hope this helps because I'd hate to see the game die off. And I do hope the Khitan caravans return, before to long. Great work, thanks.
I hope they will
Wish they would add more building materials to the game open the Map more add different enemies etc plus different pets
i'm not against no more new content, i'm in the ''bring QoL and fixes'' gang. looking forward to the future of conan exiles. hoping to be able to fully enjoy the living settlement without thralls dissapearing
Of course BP was not successful if they can charge $10 for a few decorations or a simple outfit on bazaar.
I’m following just waiting for them to realize how many more players would join or return if they added more maps and transfers
"A hungry doom ready to swallow us all."
This 'letter' is a way to say 'we're done, let's bet all our eggs on Dune and if it doesn't work we still have you Exiles around'.
Conan Exiles is a fantastic game, and if they get it running better, I would enjoy it
much more than if they keep adding new things, while the game runs horribly.
making the game better and not bigger its a great idea ❤
All I want is fixing the living settlements for xbox.
Thralls still teleport to different locations and disappear and I haven't been able to properly play since living settlements came in.
The living settlements update killed the Xbox official server that I played on. Everyone gave up. There were a bunch of longtime players that just walked away.
make the game healthy! best way to go! I had so many bugs and crushes! I even lost 250h of gameplay once! still, I love the game and I hope in 2026 you can say: conan runs pretty good!
this is the best news for conan in a long time
Conan Exiles was lambasted for it's inability to provide what was originally promised.
I just want pets to not be entirely useless meatbags
I remember a few years ago getting a rhino was a huge goal now its such a piece of garbage lol.
Funcom doing the right thing for the game is a good choice.
At least they are addressing the feedback 😅 hope they address the feedback from the modding community too
This sounds like a good plan provided they follow up on it. If Funcom takes the year (or however long) to focus on game health rather than adding to the game & it turns out well, I’d consider it time well spent.
Thank you for the update! 🙂
This is an excellent roadmap for the dev team. GREAT CHOICE!!!
This is the best news so far, this is wonderful
Shame...
Hope they fix the controls freezing up.
As long as I get at least some new skins I can wait.
This is great, and badly needed!
I hope they fix it and continue with the game
I just hope they fix the razor arrows + ancient bow bug... its been there for more than 5 years
focusing on the fundraiser and devoting an entire sentence to AoH's rocky release ans _nothing_ to the hacker that ran rampant is such a gauche move.
Just regular PR fluff really, that's why I didn't pay much attention to it. Pretty industry-standard stuff
Helldivers 2 set an example to follow regarding game as a service. Funcon is doing the same thing and they are right.
What a out the bar music they promised? Also I still haven't gotten my warlord set code >:(
Appreciate the detailed breakdown! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (mistake turkey blossom warfare blade until bachelor fall squeeze today flee guitar). How can I transfer them to Binance?
Thank you for the video. :)
I'm very lucky that I've only had a couple of crashes and only experienced a couple of occasional bugs/glitches that haven't really been too much trouble. Not sure if it's because I only play single player. I bought the game for the base building more than anything else.
The only thing I'd like the devs to do is to add weather to Siptah and detail it more to the standard of the Exiled lands or to the custom maps of Savage wilds etc,
Also fix the bazaar, I'd rather have everything available at the same time instead of having to wait weeks for the possibility of the thing I want coming around.
Huh. I thought they were gonna pull an Ark not scrap it entirely.
Thanks for the info. I have been taking a break from the game. The living settlements update killed the Xbox server that I played on. A lot of longtime players gave up on Conan. I like bug fixes. I'm concerned about the future of the game though. This feels like the beginning of the end to me.
sounds good to me. another potential path could be to start the developement of a second game! if the bugs are not fixable, this is an option.
Bugs need to be fixed. They should show a roadmap and even highlight bugs to slay them! You can do it Funcom! Get back that trust gamers had in you!
I will wait until they fix things.
this is great news.
I'm glad they've decided to do this
if they are actually going to be fixing things then thats good but it kinda sounds like they are killing conan softly
it tels me they are paying attention to what we have said, even out of hand.
If they remastered it and upgraded the game engine, they could fix bug and optimize the code at the same time.
At that point they should just make a new game, a sequel.
They can't create simple questline and you're dreaming about sequel... I have no words, just fake up!
Do you mean producer letter for *2025* in the description?
The producer letter is titled "2024 and ahead", sort of a retrospective & look forward at the same time
@@Eradicati0nn I stand corrected. Thanks.
I really hope they fix it because my game keeps on crashing to the point that it is unplayable. I haven't played conan for a month because of this.
That's good news
The fact they called the game a 'one and done' whilst it lacked so many features on launch is an extremely questionable move. It seems like they had no forethought to continue -at all- and only recently got their head on straight and by that point (Age of War for example) they were too busy playing catch up rather than leading the curve. Disappointing honestly.
One and done was a paraphrase, the actual quote is here:
"Conan Exiles was not actually intended to be a “game as a service” when we developed and first released it into Early Access in 2017. We hoped to recoup the costs of development and make enough money for our next project."
Layman's terms would define that as a one and done, it's not their wording though. It certainly ended up far more popular than they imagined, and from what little I know of game dev, live services games operate best when they're built with that expansion capability from the start. If it's not there, they run into problems like what we have now
Respect
Scheduled server wipes, what Rust does, It will solve so many problems. But no more "content" releases until they fix the base game bugs is, finally, the best news to get!
If memory serves, they've completely ruled out server wipes. I think Dennis said something like "deleting years of people's work is a good way to lose them as a player".
I was initially in support of the idea of wipes, but I can see Dennis' logic. Official servers are predicated on permanence, but if they opened a few new servers with regular resets, I'd be interested to see how they play out
If they actually fix stuff i am in for it. If its just an excuse to let conan exiles die on the sidewalk that would be a shame.
I don't play many mainstream titles too much, but the few I do play (Call of Duty) are an utter mess, not only in terms of monetization, but just how shady and riddled with problems the products are
Just reconsider your gaming choices or do you like to support greedy companies and be a milking cow?
@@DmytroBogdan I dont buy skins. I would never waste my money on skins in valorant. I just dont like the predatory tactics that these companies are using.
Only way it's going to be fixed is to drop it off from the older consoles and resale it on the newer ones.
Since October still waiting the fixes on xbox series x. They should sell the game to another company more responsible about doing things right to this great game.
They gotta fix the boss in the sewer dungeon, lol. That boss has been broken on PS since day 1, amongst other issues, of course.
In other words we gonna start SERVER WIPES . A better quality of life . Would like a varnished log cabin build material.
Server wipes will certainly never happen, for better or worse. Maybe in a new game mode, but definitely not on officials
Now if we could just transfer servers on console 🎉🎉🎉🎉 that would be great
Hopefully they will make a ps5 version of Conan with all these fixes in the near future ...
Sounds to me this is game developer gibberish for we have decided to concentrate on Dune from now on.
Feel like this is basically them saying the game is done just fixing things up a bit and leaving it
Idk this may either mean they are moving on from the game (sequel?)
OR gonna be focused patching it..
A sequel definitely isn't happening any time before Dune's early access launch, and I'd be surprised if it comes before full release (depending on how long that takes). I do think a sequel/remaster in the style of Ark Survival Evolved (hopefully without the controversy) is something Funcom might do though
For now, I'm willing to believe they're actually focusing on patching it and cleaning it up for future updates so everything isn't broken. They've said the words, but now they need to have action
Wow. It took them this long to prioritise making sure the game actually works. Better late than never eh? Oh good, I'll be able to log on and actually play after almost 3 months.
