      1. Option of using the old system of keeping crafters as items.
      2. When crafting items, the crafting thrall should report to their bench. It is odd to be smelting iron and there's no one at the furnance.
      3. Patterns of Life. Crafters should only go to bed at night. Eat in shifts for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Evening they have entertainment, they play instruments, sing songs, tell stories, recite Conan lore, hang out with the barkeep.
      4. More customization. It's great that I can dressed the crafter, it would be a QOL if I can change their physical appearance.
      5. Living Settlement Recipes. Either crafted or found, recipes that include songs, music, lore that I can give to a crafter to use like an emote to be used during their Pattern of Life.

      Id love to see thralls get it off your way when pushed. Right now, they push you out of the way and that seems backwards given who's in charge

    I think they could look at a mod like Thralls are alive where you can define patrols, animations at some locations, make them work, make them train and many other things. But before anything we need at least to make the actual thing work properly because thralls getting stuck, thralls climbing on their benches, thralls like carpenters and alchemist who just are stuck to their workbenches, the whole system just crashing sometimes leaving all thrall in a guard stance and on and on and on...

      I was kinda against a Thralls Are Alive take on mapping out thrall movement initially as I found it quite cumbersome, but I've definitely come around to at least having that option, more control in general is a must

      @@Eradicati0nn I think that if you want to rely on automatic tasks guided by AI you are doomed in this game, this is why i prefer that mod solution where you can define path for patrolling for example. The officer desk where you can plan work hours, training hours, sleeping time gives you so much more control.
      I think that a mix of the actual live settlement with more planned tasks and occupation is the way to go.
      If we just rely on the crappy AI to do the job, it will never work properly and i think that they will never fix that feature as it's not so easy to do it, too many factors that collide and cause problems.

    Good comments.... I think the biggest issue is the lack of communication from the devs. It would be great if there was a monthly (or bi-monthly) dev update. Let the community know the highs and lows of the development cycle. It fosters better links between the community and the devs, lets players know the game hasnt been forgotten, etc. Even a company like Bethesda (know for always releasing bug full games) understands the importance of communication.
    And utilise players - have some sort of public tests more often, to gather feedback and generate hype about what is coming.

      1000% agreed. Games with massive issues & controversy draw so much good will just by having regular communication, even if it's just community highlights and a little flavour text of stuff going on behind the scenes. Conan would only benefit from that same treatment IMO

    When they get it all fixed and up and running I would like to be able to put a harp or other instrument in the inventory of my performers and then them play that instrument.

      I'm almost certain that will happen at some point. I'm sure you can already manually slot thralls in to play some of the more recent instruments like the Stygian war drum

    One thing I would love, are wagons you can attach to horses, so you can get those treasure chests and other items that make you walk carry long distances, and allows you to stack them on the wagon and carry them that way instead.

    You are right, this could be a nice feature. But ONLY if we would have more controle about it. Thralls getting stuck and taking up all the tavern space ruins it, personally I just like them sitting in their benches and not being around

    Yeah, agree to a lot of this. I will say that it seems to work a bit better with "tighter" bases than more sprawling ones (as long as pathing is clear.) My current base with a tavern surrounded on 2 side with the artisan building seems to work ok. But more control over what the thralls do would be very welcomed. And at some point, guards need to be Intergrated (patrol paths, even maybe "shifts" etc.) instead of just static guarding. Some obvious bugs still so question is do they tackle the bugs first or start expanding the features.

      Yeah tighter bases work surprisingly well, though it does seem only a matter of time until some get stuck on a door or an errant table 😂
      Guard patrols and shifts were on my list for this video, I think I scrapped it for this one though, figured we were probably biting off more than we could chew for now. It's definitely on my wishlist, but I'd rather them get this part right first before adding more

      @@Eradicati0nn I have been careful with placing the tables etc, but thralls do still keep getting stuck on the tinker's table, which I can't do anything about except physically unstick them when I see it.

    It would be cool if they did a medieval style time schedule. 1) For Trade workers (who are linked to there respective benches when placed in slot), Sunrise till sunset, stopping for meals (breakfast & Lunch) but remain near there benches. then in the evening they either go to the pub( until pub closes or set amount of time) or there home (using a special bed as a thralls claiming block were they will sleep at night). 2) Priests and sorcerers would perform rituals, study etc. (But they would stay near there alters, Because they don't mingle with commoners lol). 3) Bearers move supplies between the tradesman or even have a spot they go to that is linked to the golems that collects all the materials golems farm and the bearers bring it to the tradesman. 4) Performers when not dancing, lounge around on pillows or seats.(they only dance when requested and for a designated time) 5) Taskmaster, When not breaking thralls can be training fighters and archers in a training area (which has to be improved to train more soldiers at once) were soldiers can be leveled, and every 5 levels the soldier has to be put on follow and taken out to complete a quest or certain monster kill( this is how they will get there bonus abilities and allow us to get semi specific choices i.e., archer gets agility, and fighter strength etc. and the quest level determines the best ability) and the level of each thrall determines it's max level (Ex. Relic Hunter 1, 2, 3 or Named is maxed out at 5, 10, 15 and 20.) and to make it more interesting you can only have 1 specific named fighter or archer thrall per clan. (Ex. you can only have 1 Teimos per clan) this will stop clans from having a horde of the best thrall and allow other players to farm them. But no limit on the number of named thralls (everyone wants a Red Pirate Crew!!) Also Have soldiers work in shifts, Make a guard post( Small like a banner or say quiver of arrows Etc.,) area that will link 2 or more soldiers together and set the time when they will change shifts. even set up group patrols around you base ( say between point A and Point B) so you can guard some areas better and add an element of surprise to raiding parties who may have to fight 5 more soldiers than they thought. any way that is my thoughts, Cheers!

    The biggest problem with living settlements really besides it is breaking the step for placing a thrall into a work station to unlock the purple lotus orbs. The worker thralls occasionally disappear entirely. Like even when you are careful of what you let your thralls interact with etc. You'll just log in and you'll note one of your thralls is marked as returning home. You can try to rescue them. But. It's not guaranteed to work. Sometimes it'll give you the error message of unable to find thrall. And poof. Gone. That's the thing that needs to be fixed most. I've lost 4 named thralls on account of this so far. The other thing would be as simple as patching the mechanism from when you used to place a thrall into the slot. To, as soon as your thrall interact with their defined stations, and or if you have multiple of a select type of thrall, selecting one or the other, triggers the event. But honestly the disappearing thralls should be priority number 1.

    Ever since they released the patch to “fix” thralls disappearing (still an issue but on a smaller scale), my thralls now do weird stuff. They creep around instead of walking, not all the time but very often, and they’ll often just stand in front of a wall and stare at it. I try to move them or reset them with emotes but they’ll immediately walk back to the same spot and continue their “activity”. They also walk up stairs on the absolute edge of the staircase and it looks very unnatural.
    I’m curious to see future updates with it. When I go to place a thrall on a bench, sometimes the green ghost preview will show them eating, but sometimes it shows them reading! I also know certain thrall interactions I saw on the dev stream have not been implemented into the game yet, such as sitting on the edge of a fountain. I look forward to seeing more animations added, for example, while I love that my thralls use the wells I place, I’d love to see them drinking from a water skin instead of an iron mug, which is the same animation the do for ale kegs.
    I’m annoyed by the creeping around and staring at walls, I really hope they address it in future updates. It might not be game breaking but it completely ruins immersion. I also have an issue with large bases where if a thrall wandered 40 meters away from their starting point and the server resets, their new starting point is where they were standing during server reset, and will now wander another 50 meters away. My cook always does this and I never get to use them on my stove even though I continually try to place them back in the kitchen, I have to do this on a daily basis after server reset.
    I also wish that, much like the option to turn off living settlements on certain objects (I had to turn it off for all of my mannequins for example, because my thralls would constantly ignore benches, braziers and ale kegs and just gaze at my mannequins all day), I wish it was possible to use the radial menu on individual thralls to turn off their wandering (so that they behave like a fighter and stay where you put them.)
    One work around for this, is basically creating a hidden chamber in my base where I wall in all of my crafters. I then dress up entertainers and fighters like crafters, and place them at stations where they stay put and do their animations. I’ll then throw in a couple of low level crafters to walk around for decoration.

    For myself I'd like to change the ratio of how often they eat/sleep compared to how much time they spend at their work stations, at the moment it feels like they spend too much time doing the former rather than the latter. And if I could tie it to the daylight hours that'd be great, so when the sun is up they're mostly working and when it has set they're mostly sleeping, with eating occurring occasionally.

      That was my main idea with the Timekeeper's bench. I'd like them to actually sleep at night, and to spend less time eating in general 😂 It seems sometimes like all they do is eat (relatable)

    I think they have taken a step in the right direction but, as you say, some work still has to be done. I have spent a lot of time moving furniture or relocating beds so thralls don't get stuck. I logged in once and found all of my thralls in the tavern. It wasn't even happy hour.:)

      Yeah placing furniture is made significantly more fiddly with this system. It might improve in the future, but having to find the sweet spot for every chair or bed is a nightmare, even in a medium sized base

    I completely agree. More control would be an absolute win. The combination of survival/settlement management has already been proven to work. (See ASKA) and, while even that game, designed with the mechanic in mind from the ground up, bugs are prevalent. Figuring out the "Fix" for those bugs needs to be a priority while working on the systems that you mentioned. I would like to see worker thralls able to be placed back in your inventory, for relocation of a base for example, as trying to run EVERY Thrall to the new base is... well nightmarish. LOL

    another thing that bothers me iare the priests. if you have several altars,, with according priests ( e.g. Ymir, Set and Mitra ), and you have a priest for each, they go to other alatars, like the Set priest doing his thing at the Ymir altar. they should be at their own religion, and not bouncing around

    On a small subtopic covered in your video, something that bummed me out when Living Settlements dropped was I noticed the 'Tinkering' emote was no longer available in the Miscellaneous section of the emote wheel. I logic'd that this was because the Living Settlements thrall were updated with more accurate crafting station animations, and so 'Tinkering' just went away, unlike the 'Smithing' emote, as Blacksmith animations remained unchanged.
    Pre-LS, I regularly used 'Tinkering' on my combat thrall to make them look like they were doing all sorts of things, from tending to my planters to repairing various work stations or areas of interest around my bases, etc.
    Recently I picked up a scroll from a Sepermeru chest and saw it was the 'Tinkering' emote. This was news to me. Very happy they didn't just rip it out of the game. I was surprised I hadn't heard they made it a proper, learnable emote.

    I pretty much agree with all your points. Maybe the granular schedule control is too much but at least I'd like day/night shifts for thralls with simple routines. Maybe we can set them to work 20 hours a day, and the remaining 4 are for sleeping/eating AKA super slavery mode, with some debuffs for the thrall as a negative effect that would also make them weaker when there are raids. Similarly, thralls that have a good life should have buffs that improve their effectiveness. And I really want to be able to assign each thrall a resting spot instead of them grabbing beds randomly, but the wander radius mechanic also solves that.

    The mod Thralls Are Alive does most of what living settlements does, without the bugs.
    Additionally, because we cannot assign thralls to stations anymore, the Master Chef and Thrall Taker journey steps are out of reach--which means no more purple lotus orbs.

    I was talking to a dev a few years back about settlements and they where planning to implement something similar for a long time. We where brainstorming about using Thralls as automation similar to redstone in minecraft. Each has their own daily routine and so on.

    2 things I want , your thralls to be able to do any emote in the game . The chalice drinking emote I bought specifically to do a sacrificial scenario but they cant use it just like most paid emotes. Secondly idle chatter and ambient sounds, you can make a market look as realistically as possible but without idle chatter it doesn't feel realistic, same for taverns they could have singing and good opportunity to put musician thralls in the game.

    I can imagine use of Commanding table work similar to creative mode, but allows you a more flexible and easy way to make pathways and places that said thrall is allow to walk at, it would be nice if thrall walks towards the appropriate station if you are crafting something there, makes like your thralls are crafting those iron reinforcements as blacksmith thrall in blacksmith station as you prepare to gather resources or explore the map.

    yea i love the living settlements! it do make the point of building and playing conan worth it, creating fun willages and castles with my rescued people is a happy fealing :D

    Hopefully it's just the beginning of more changes on the way. The main problem has to be thralls wandering outside. I'd like to see animations for the crafting stations based on when they are being used, a resting state and a working state for each bench. That would be really nifty.

    I have only jumped in game once since the update and it was a little buggy so I figured I'd give it some time in the oven. I'm thrilled with the idea. I wish they interacted with each other and with the player character even just slightly like skyrim. All that aside, you have such cool building sets. I can't fathom being a person who has all the dlc for Conan and isn't a content creator who is granted sets for content. I feel like they could release sets free after they've been out for a couple of years and not really lose anything for it.

    We breached a base because of building mistakes, and one of their thralls (inadvertently, I'm sure) led us around the inside of the base, opening locked doors. Thanks for the loot blacksmith ll 😂

    I went through all this trouble to get a purge going, and as it started I had thralls opening the doors to my base! It was pandemonium.

    I haven't touched this new age update, don't plan to either! I'll guess you don't play this game either.. not how it's intended anyway and no wonder!. as a builder its awesome, easily the best out there! on console anyway! I just refuse to spend insane bazaar prices to keep up to date.. every time I get into the game a few months later they fk it up!

    Sun set, they should all look for sleeping quarters. Sun up they all should get ready to work. Noon get some grub. Dusk, get some dinner.

    I think the main reason they haven't done this is because lower end PC's/consoles wouldn't be able to handle the animations.
    When I had a server, we had to put in a rule to not have thespians (player owned stores that look like thralls) be animated because players who had lower end PC's would lag like crazy.

      Last gen consoles are most definitely a concern, I made a video a while ago about that topic in regards to a map expansion. I think LS would be do-able even on those consoles with (hopefully) all of the suggestions here, but there will eventually come a time when the old console architecture is too far outdated. I think that's where we'd probably see Conan Exiles Remastered with upgrade incentives, especially as more players upgrade consoles. Playstation doesn't look to have been super successful on the upgrade front though, 49m players are still on PS4

    Rather than just limit Thrall wander distance, I think it's not too much to ask for their code to check for the closest way to suit their current need. Better pathing would go a long way to fixing many issues too.

    I just hope they dont get rid of the over powered skellos bearers 😂
    I found one in my tavern, found a t3 skellos bearer with the nordheimer dancer model.
    Has 61k hp and hits like a berserker 😂

    you still need to have a Thrall feeder so ugly, Why could this not be remade as a sumptuous table especially for showing the different recipes that can be cooked. Would this be that difficult? I am finding it challenging to track thralls (fighter types and dancers) that I have left in positions to work with at a later time. When I return to the game they have wandered off and I cannot find them. I am going to start clothing my workers in different types and color to be able to differentiate them from my fighters. Just so much to do and keep track of.

    I'm running a server on ps4&5 for my family but we shut it off after thralls started disappearing. Is it safe to turn it back on yet? There's not a lot of info on living settlements on console.

    It seems to me that the level of detail control you want on your town citizens is bordering on a sim city type game. IMHO the settlement thralls were useful to add features to their stations, the rest is mostly cosmetic and we need to decide how much time we have to spend controlling what each thrall is doing at any given time.

    I do not know why a manuel given emote can not stop the LS for this special Thrall. Only if you clear emotes they use LS. So you can let them work or stay or walk or doing anything you want.

      My guess is that needs override animations as a core component of pulling thralls away from one need resource to another, though surely some technical exemption can be made for emotes. The whole point is to have thralls moving, but I think if people want to have their crafters doing emotes, they should have that choice

      @@Eradicati0nn Well if we let them follow the needs will be overrided too. Funcom just have to set this function to any other manuel emote setting from us too and everything would be fine. If we leave them out of follow the LS works again. If we clear alle emotes it would work too.

    I havent played since early 2022 and This is huge! there probably are a ton of weapons and armor that has been added too since 2022. plus all my docs i bought. but anywas....
    Having the turn off option is nice for people who dont want it but I think it just came out give them some time to fix and improve they will we have finally made it here afterall. personlly I think the key to making it work is building your city or even empire in a real way. Needs to be mutiple food places /workshops for people to work in a close area. with houses built with mutiple rooms abd bedrooms make a family home almost ( plus that would be reallly realistic) Also I just wanted to say Yes people can go off and get killed which would suck of you put work into them so build your actual castle ( your home ) in the middle of the city that way they dont wonder outside you will need to expand yes but i personally love that. again pvp will be hardee to do but on solo or with friends in lobby the potential os essentially endless. also saw they added horses! wow! but in reality this gives a real feel to the game ( and you can turn it off until its properly set up. ) everyone has a mind of their own to a certain extend they might have to make the map bigger here soon! 😂 this will take a lot of time but looks fun! again especially with friends or solo im gonna redownload it & hopefully the ai will get improved too thanks for sharing!

      Tbh from the initial pitch I didn't think it needed the backend controls, and that it might end up being overly cumbersome. Seeing the system in practice now though, I'm fully in support of it, so long as they can also function with minimal interaction on the controls front. The option for more fine control can only be a positive IMO.

    Am liking the new thrall system. Integrating it with the old, original game and specs is likely a challenge. I aree that it is in its infancy. Mods have shown it can be done, but integrating it into the core game is likely an 'Aaaargh!' moment for any Devs, especially as they are not able to bundle the system into a DLC or the like and therefore get paid for it (I do not think the Bazaar covers all costs).
    Personally, I like the system. I had to redesign the base to cut out needs for wandering outside the base, which was annoying because I previously had the base in a settlement style, not a fortress with only firghters and archers outside..
    I've had to accept thralls won't work during the day and sleep only at night, and cannot tell some that partying at a tavern all night is Not the way to improve moods.
    Yes, to setting: active hours, individual ranges of wandering.

    Radon suggestion. How about they make a static storage for all captured thralls. Then the game checks for owned thralls and just creates copies of said thralls to wander around. They go missing or get stuck or whatever you go to your "thrall storage" and reenable the problem thrall. Or even easier just make rando npcs based on your thrall count to make your base a "living settlement" with no danger to losing yet another high quality thrall to this nonsense.

      Pretty interesting idea tbh. I'm not sure how technically do-able it is, given that the thralls can fight, interact, be dressed up etc, but it certainly would make them a lot safer if the "true" thrall was nicely stored elsewhere

    I agree it needs work, i think Aska does a good job with making the villagers, sure its not perfect but my village in Aska makes it feel more lively, they have a schedule which is nice its fully customizable to. And then their is medieval dynasty, the villagers feel really lively there to, they'll interact with each other and the player in both cases and it truly feels at times that im walking in the steps of the player character more course no game is perfect but i know that the game devs for all games could seriously learn from each other and seek inspiration, its a rough start for age of heroes but i believe they'll get there eventually, im oersonally excited to se ewgar the future holds, me and my beother use to play Conan Exiles together all the time when i was younger so im crossing my fingers tonsee the game grow ^^

    A lot of good ideas.
    I remember using the Thralls are Alive mod years ago. Complex and buggy at times, but fun to play with. I don't understand why the developers don't reach out to the modding community (maybe they do?). There are so many talented modders out there. Thralls are Alive is just one example.

      I used TaA very briefly about two years ago I think, that mod's backend controls are what initially made me think LS would be fine without them, as I found the controls very finicky and a bit much. Obviously I've changed my tune on that a bit now 😂 I think the controls are necessary, though might benefit from being a little less granular.
      I'm not sure if FC do reach out to the modding community for game features. I know FC previously helped the Age of Calamitous (I think) team to get their mod updated to 3.0, so at least part of the modding scene has a closer connection to Funcom, but I wouldn't be able to speak to how deep that connection runs in general

    I really like the living settlements, and so far I don't think it's been that bad. However I play on a single player PVE server, so NPC's opening outside doors is not a problem for me. On a PVP server with other players, being able to get in your base because the front door is open. Yes I can see that being a problem, the eating animation is not great. They went to all that trouble, but didn't think to put food in the bowls, or put in some variations and other things they can do. I think some level of control would be good, but some of your ideas seem a bit complicated. I don't want to spend time, having to deal with schedules. But it's still ideas just needs some compromise, between ease of use and complexity in greater control. Had issues of thralls getting stuck on stairs a bit, or sometimes on furniture. But I also run mods and mods can bring new challenges at times, but overall I do like it, I hope they don't remove it. It's just needs further work is all, can always add new things over time. I thought that was their idea to start it off basic, and to it over time.

    Just started playing after a long break, didn't even know this was in the game. Does this mean if crafters are not at their station it doesn't get their bonus when making stuff?

      No, that was one of the good features to come from this system 😂 It used to be the case before this update, but now benches and thralls have a huge radius. So long as the relevant thrall (smelter for example) is within range of a valid workstation (furnace), you can select their bonus in the workstation UI. It's pretty hard to have a thrall out of that radius unless they're in a completely different base

    Have fighters and archers go on patrol areas have dancers movie around like go to stage area dance then head to bed or go eat food, have guards walk around holding weapons have other thralls look like they are buying stuff at stalls

      I wouldn't be surprised if the plan is for Living Settlements and the tavern system to converge at some point. The Tavern system still has plenty of potential, there just wasn't much in this update that played into it aside from Freya requiring a tavern to show up

    You make some valid points here. But the fact that it was severely broken to begin with tells a bigger story. I have heard rumours that the thrall mechanics are based from the tavern visitor mechanics, which aren't very good to begin with, and so were the base of the thralls disappearing problem.
    Funcom really need to pull something good outta their butts going forward to make this worthwhile, or it'll end up just as bad as AoW or worse.

      Yeah the initial "system doesn't work" is the biggest impediment to its success currently 😂 I've not seen those rumors myself, though I don't put much stock in any rumor positive or negative, so long as the issues are identified & fixed. I figure there's incredibly technical stuff going on behind that scenes that many people, myself definitely included, just wouldn't get.
      Agreed entirely on needing to pull out something good in the coming updates. I didn't think we'd see the benefit of the update cadence changes just yet, but changing a system as old as the thrall system without a bulletproof foundation under it seems like a recipe for disaster, in retrospect

    How damn lazy can you be?? They make beautiful and very detailed building pieces and decorations yet the thralls get to eat AIR!?!?
    They most definitely have it in them they just didn't do it and seeing it ruins my immersion. Luckily it was 1 thrall,I can't imagine what 3 or more look like.✌🏼

    I agree with everything said in the Video, but there's one thing i miss in Living Settlements, as well as in the tavern system: Sounds.
    I guess people underestimate how much of a difference the lack of sound makes.
    TO be honest, i always find it odd or even a bit creepy entering a Tavern or a building full of people, but it is completely silent.
    In Living Settlements it is not as apparent as in the tavern system, but even here, some talking noises would be appreciated. It doesn't have to be that every NPC starts to talk suddenly, but a general... background noise of people would be nice.
    In the tavern system, there should be music and people singing or talking loudly, depending on how many people are in the Tavern. (Man, i wish there was sometimes a brawl breaking out or something like this...)
    Btw, why can't we assign some NPCs to cut woods or mine ores or stone nearby? One should think that, after all we (the player) are the chief/King of the settlement, why should be still do the hardest work, instead of focussing on defending/raiding/adventuring?

    i love the settlement yearh their need things to be fixed but i hope they gonna put things frome the video they they talking about into the game, i have waitet for this since first day in early access came out with my friend and to behonest im excitet to see what they bring to chapter 2 in april (this is just my wishpatrolls and gaurds open up when you walk to teh gate and so much more)

    Can Conan exiles be saved at all I play on an Xbox and the crashes that I've dealt with along with bugs just make me not even want to play anymore and what's even messed up is that somebody had bought it for me I'm talking about crashes that leave you naked after you picked up your body especially at al-Marayah and that in it self is a can of worm that they need to fix also crashed during a purge to which if they just let you set the number of NPC that attack your base it might fix the problem a bug where in a dungeon you are stuck if you do a fatality it just like wtf at this point

      If you're not on a current gen xbox then sadly crashes are just a part of the game. It shouldn't be that way but it is and the devs seem to not care enough to address and fix it.

    I agree with you to a point on not scrapping it, but it needs fully scrapped until they can get it to work properly. Xbox is STILL waiting on the patch that was suppose to fix stuff. A base that feels alive sounds nice and all, but it's still not CONTENT. That's what the game needs. It feels like all we get now is filler stuff. Instead of thralls walking around why not just add more movements for them at the stations? Show a blacksmith grabbing ore from a box and hammering out new weapons and tools rather than just hammering all day and night? Show alchemists brewing different potions and grinding things up, we could actually see tanners scraping fur off of hides. Living settlements was good in theory but IMO they butchered it.

      I doubt it'll be scrapped & reintroduced, it's likely less work to just fix it. Much like treasure in AoW C1, I think this will end up being the foundation for a content addition. I appreciate the groundwork approach, and LS is likely a much bigger task than it seems on paper, but I agree it isn't "content" as such. Sure, it's a new thing in-game, but it's not really something you can play in like a new dungeon, event etc. This chapter already looked a bit content-light with the additions, but seeing as both major features are bugged and LS doesn't perform that well, it's got even less content to play with

    Love the idea of the living settlement. But the thralls should stay at their bench longer, now they immediately wander off to take eternal breaks. Also better to be able to just lock a door, so no thralls can enter any area. And I wish they would let thralls be placed close to each other again. Stupidest change for thralls. Never understood why they disabled this!

    As much as I love living settlements (in theory, not execution), I hope the devs realise that quality of life updates are very different from new content. I only got to enjoy seeing my crafters walk around for a couple of weeks, before I got too bored to keep playing. The dungeons are the same, the map is largely the same, the Jhebal Sag event got re-released and wasn’t improved on (the same animal movesets as their generic counterparts in the base game), the Khitan Slaver event was brought back but has been in the game for a long time and it’s novelty has worn off. There’s not much incentive to explore camps, but even then, if you already have all the loot or have already done them multiple times, it gets stale. Al-Meriyah was very poorly executed, it crashes all the time even on single player, and it feels difficult to raid in a roleplay type of way since the mobs just respawn and I never get to use battering rams to force my way in. It’s almost as if it was designed to be cheesed. The world events (from Siptah) are cool, but I can’t find a use for the items I get (on Exiled Lands), and they always spawn when you don’t want them to but never spawn when you go looking for one. It’d be nice for players to be able to manually trigger these events, similar to the Pools of the Grey Ones on Siptah.
    I hope that the devs take a break from QoL updates in lieu of designing new content, new bosses with unique move sets, new locations (not map expansion per se, but finding empty land or replacing insignificant camps to make new POI’s even if they’re small in scale). With the Age of Heroes theme, now would be a good time to expand on NPCs, like the treasure hunter or the princess from Age of Sorcery who’s been hanging out in the Seppemaru tavern for like 2 years. Fetch quests could be an easier alternative to creating budget heavy content like the Companion questlines (which offer very little content and have annoying time gates).
    I have had to go very far out of my way to create content for myself to stop getting bored for about a year now, and I’m worn out. Themed roleplay builds, themed playthroughs, speed runs, self made challenges, etc. Also with the new recipes from The Sacred Hunt and Khitan Slaver Sorcerer events, I can’t make a new character to restart my play through on the same server, I have to server hop, which is frustrating and also means I don’t get to use those rewards until the event rolls back around anyway. The Sacred Hunt is so tedious though I lowkey never want to have to do it again.

    I'm probably in a minority but I haven't placed any of my worker thralls. Yes, they are buggy and basic, but that's a small reason for me. As much as I like the idea of having my base "come to life", I really dont like the idea of having no control over them. I don't want them to fight, risk being killed, opening my doors etc I'd like to be able to control them, what they do, where they go, just as you said. Until that happens, which it probably won't, I won't be using my worker thralls. They remain in my benches though, just in case. I'd really like the option to turn off this option for me on official servers. They are my thralls, in my base, I'd like to be able to toggle them on/off for my own preference while no one else is affected byt this on the server. Makes no sense to force this on people who don't want it or don't like it.

    I disagree that we should have such granular control over thrall's schedules. I used the "Thralls are alive" mod for a while. Or rather, I should say I TRIED to use the mod. Managing the routines of all my thralls sucked the joy out of playing the game. I like the "set it and forget it" nature the way Funcom has implemented this. Could it be better? Absolutely, but I don't think that adding super granular controls is the way to go.
    Maybe allow the player to define a bed for a thrall, and a primary workbench. But then let them go. Focus should be on gameplay, not loaded down with managing 30 thralls.

      I'm of the same persuasion that having to manage routines and such isn't to my taste, I wouldn't want to have to do that for every thrall. Blanket controls would alleviate that, but I also think the system should be able to run untouched, and that extra control should just be a refining (though ultimately optional) layer. My brief experience with Thralls Are Alive is the main reason I wasn't a huge fan of granular controls in the first place, though I now think a degree of it is necessary

    Could add working bench missions to level up thralls, like other comments music players could be cool, animal emote no longer in option ? The food boiling soup no longer see whos attached to it , it be nice to buff thralls by using it instead of one by one for purge or else,, Seriously a snow storm needed so Spice food make more sense not just ice dungeon, and finnaly t4 hyborian female thralls are super rare ,, purge give most of the time only chineese looking thralls, maybe they could add option apparence with the nergal bench, well dont know if im the only one trying to make a full tribe, but north man kind of forgoten, but for now all updates pretty cool, hope they dont give up the game , from 2014-2024 its an awesome game

    theres another prob when you offline ad your thralls are still wondering around specaily on a pve server its sad that other pve players are sneeking in you base steeling your shit they need to fix that so other players dont sneek in your base when a thrall opens a door and hope they still fix the fact that they fix how thralls r still missing

    I would be happy with zero new features for 3 years if they just fixed the game. It’s such a frustrating game, because the potential is so high but the game breaks so much! I have to “verify integrity” of game files at least once a day.

    why would they work on this? would it not be better for them to fix all the other broken shit first, this is how we come to having such a shit game. they keep adding more broken shit and not fixing the other bugs for years. there are floating bases on the pvp servers, player hiding under the map, this stuffs being going on for years, but hey they really should be wasting there time fixing this garbage......... u pve creators are the downfall of this game, really hope they don't listen to a dam thing u say.

    Let's be kind...Living Settlements is bland at best. Dialing up the honesty though, they took a mod's activity and made it official but introduced a boatload of bugs doing it. FC should've left that "immersion" in the hands of the mod and spent their attention $$ on adding content outside of the bazaar. Events, quests, additional dungeons all would've been better time/money spent. The only thing that adds to the replay of CE now is starting fresh, and after the 5th time, its not fresh so much as stale. AoW's bars/bartenders/purges was more depth of content than what we've gotten with AoH. The two companion npcs aren't even worth the effort IMO.

    Tencent has done irrepairable damage to this game. They will never fix anything wrong with it. I really hate to say it, but this game really is toast.
    If anyones still having fun on this game im happy for you. I cannot recommend this game to new players though.
    The game was infinitely better before tencent came along

    Yeah, I stopped playing when no one could tell me why my private server kept deleting the database resulting in erasing everyone's work. Luckily I had automated backups scheduled, but then those stopped working. Never had that issue on the local server I run so I can make sure things work before uploading it to my online server. Just couldn't afford a business class internet connection to open it up to my players. Various mods have fixed many of the issues people bring up with this game but every single patch and update broke those mods. Especially when the mod creators never even got access to the dev kit as promised and forced them to scramble to fix their mods at the 12th hour. The only solution I had to fall back on was manual backups or using a third party software to automatically back up the server. Server hosting company was 0 help and FunCom was 0 help. Many tickets were closed without any communication at all.

    You forgot the fact that you cant pick em up, they can die easily (and they arent easy to farm like T4 bladesmiths etc), they create lag, they open doors in pvp... ETC
    THE WORST UPDATE EVER (and it hurts to say that because conan is one of my favourite games, but im really really dissappointed with funcom)
