I don't know why, but I really enjoyed and appreciated the dressing scene. The purposely focus on the corset busk, outer sleeves, and pomander and her waist. And then show Elodie using them with a purpose when she is running from the dragon: she sharpens the busk into a a knife, uses the sleeves as a bag to hold the glow worms as a net and a lantern, and uses the pomander to hold a glowing coal as a lantern as well. I just really like that little bit of attention to detail.

Tbh I enjoyed the movie. I'm probably the only one who shoulders this opinion, but I wish there's more of a dramatic struggle for the antagonist group towards the climax of the final act where instead of the dragon just breathing fire on the schmucks they run in terror and try to cling onto their lives to no avail. Sounds pretty dark to wish upon considering burning to death is already pain inducing enough, but to me the final note felt a little anti climatic in a weird ironic sense. Also I was hoping at the end, she rode the dragon while breathing heavy fire into the sunset with her sword drawn and a battle war cry, but that's just my inner child fantasies coming to light.

    • @aisharana5019
      @aisharana5019 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

Nah you're right. I felt the same dearth of perfect vengeance too, like all the innocent women being hunted down by the dragon has been legit more intense and traumatizing to go through than what the main antagonists got, a little bit of playing or toying around before ultimately engulfing them in her fiery fury would have felt totally justified in a "couldn't have been a better end to their story" sense. But it rather went like what the Dragon described about the victim just before Elodie, "The last one was so quick to go." Or something like that lol.

To me the premise was actually hella interesting and I was looking forward to this movie...only to be disappointed, but I should have seen it coming. This movie suffer from the same problems of all modern movies and shows, they Tell instead of Showing. A lot of informations were given to us through exposition left and right. We didn't see Elodie's relationship with her family outside of her sister, we heard about it; we didn't see that her kingdom had issues, we were told about it; what Elodie was capable of and who she was as a character, except for a couple of details that got repeated over and over, was not really shown to us prior to her being thrown into the cave, and now suddenly we are to believe that she's athletic, extremely clever and more, when is the most convenient? Couldn't you just show it to us before, when she was at home, or when she was in the other kingdom?
Ultimately, the movie was enjoyable, but it had so much potential that got wasted....at least they gave us mommy Aghdashloo as the voice of the Dragon. God, she's just such a talented actor!

It's definitely more of an action movie than a story telling movie, but I still liked it. It got its points across, and I liked most of the characters. Though I did wish the Queen became the sacrifice at the end lol. Which, I guess she _did_ technically, but still. The acting did feel a little awkward at times, but it was okay for the most part. (Not counting Millie of course, she's great.) There were some things I didn't expect, so that was fun. Like Elodie just suddenly bolting it across that gap lol, and even the prince accepting his fate at the end. I almost felt sorry for him then. Almost, because like, he still went along with this for god knows how long. Come on buddy, get a spine. And a brain.
The costumes were actually great too., and the movie in general was visually stunning.

I honestly enjoyed this movie which kind of surprised me. A bit predictable but everything else was well rounded enough to keep the movie going forward at a good pace. Though the ending felt a little rushed, I would've enjoyed a bit more information of the dragon(like her name, possibility of not being the last of her kind). More banter between Elodie and the dragon as well would've been cool. But I can accept it as just a simple straightforward fun action fantasy film.

It was a movie. That is how I feel about it. Not particularly good or bad, did a lot of technical stuff well, for example the effects, the tension, had a bit of set-up and pay-off. But the movie didn't have a heart and kinda brushed past a lot. Sometimes the dialogue felt stiff and the story is pretty much as predictable as it could be. Doesn't mean it can't be enjoyable, but also not so much that anything aside the look of it would stick with me.

Ok, this movies started off good but left me with more questions than answers...
1.- If supposedly the dragon kept to herself and it was the humans that started the violence... why would they go into the dragons lair in the first place if it was not a threath? And why of all the people the king had to be there? Why not send dragon slayers or offer a reward?
2.- According to other websites they had to offer 3 girl every 10 years (for 300 years!!!) Did they have to marry the prince or king several times every 10 years? did no one notice the missing or disappearance of princesses over the years?
3.- Of all the items she removed from that clunky ass dress... why on earth she kept the damn corset??!!
4.- If the slugs were magical that could cure anything... why not use them on her father??
6.- Did she really just touch her father sword and suddenly knew how to use it?? is she a Disney-Jedi??
7.- How does a dragon get burnt by it's own fire?? (all of my D&D freak friends lost their sh*t on this one) 🤣🤣
8.- At the end the dragon and Elodie killed more people than the royal family!! she practically turns into Dracarys levels of evil!!
9.- The real hero of the story in her makeup!!
I don't know how this movie was supposed to be feminist when they portrayed women as evil, cruel, dumb, vain and racists!!

      2. It's implied that the fathers/mothers whoever knew they were giving away their daughters to be killed in exchange for money
      3. Idk
      4. Why not use the slugs on the other guys who were smashed to death? I'm pretty sure slugs can't heal open gaping wounds.
      5. You forgot number five
      6. It's weilding a sword, not a crossbow
      7. Fair
      8. She told some of them to leave and spared their lives. The ones who died more than likely weren't innocent
      9. Srsly
Lastly, feminism isn't when women are portrayed as perfect. The story is just more women led, it has nothing to do with 'feminism'

I've seen this film criticised for lack of worldbuilding, but here's the thing... it's a standalone movie. It's not part of a big franchise, not a serialised TV show. There's only so much you can do in less than 2 hours, and I think they used that time efficiently. Act 1 and 3 were admittedly weak, but Act 2 (the actual adventure itself) was phenomenal. As it stands, it's just a simple little fable with honestly a decent message (it's so rare by the way to find anti-monarchy fantasy in movies). And I don't know about you, but when I read fables or fairy tales or folk tales I don't find myself saying, "yeah but they didn't explain the agrarian economy of the kingdom!"

The 61% sounds appropriate. It was a solid 5/10 movie.
Very pretty graphically. I didn't see anything wrong with the CGI. Although the dragonfire looked more like dragon-napalm with how liquid it flowed once it hit the floor like lava. Which is weird. I understood to suspend a lot of disbelief from the moment the opening scene played out.
Even though the promotional posters say "This is not a fairytale." It is actually to be treated as one. Cinderella, Snow White etc. all have glaring plotholes and characters doing dumb shit, or characters that are unexplained to be missing but since it's a fairytale you're supposed to not take it literally and to not expect much verisimilitude.

I thought it was really good with a great-looking dragon design. Rotten Tomatoes critics were too tough, but TH-cam critics were over the top on trashing it with a herd mentality.

I don’t like this I hate it what wrong with the world today we don’t need men it’s woke and I’m just sick of it. They ruined so much stuff over this whole we don’t need men thing and I’m really getting tired of it and I thought because she had a blue platform that she would actually do something with it. Nope she did something that everyone else is doing. I’m really disappointed in Millie, because I really thought she would help with this problem instead of doing whatever everyone else is doing nope she just did exactly make the problem worst even more you can’t win this is so sad. I’m so done with this world today. It’s just awful. It’s all sad and depressing and nothing happy and I’m I’m just really really sick of it. Thank you for the video. I Love you. Please make more videos have a great day

I think you misinterpreted the film
A film about a female lead without male characters doesn't indicate you don't need men at all
Millies fathers in the movie shows up to help her escape later , so he definitely does help her
And also leaves the sword she uses to injure the dragon enough to let her listen to reason
So whilst it isn't shouted from the rooftops
Millie is put in that situation by an evil woman ( evil mother in law)
And saved by the actions of her father
Everything that happens in the climax of the movie is because of her father deciding to come back for her
So I don't get why you're saying its anti men
Unless you mean simply because they didn't have a stereotypical good Prince
The Prince wasn't evil but lacked a backbone

You are literally saying the movie should not exist because no one asked for it which is a dumb that people like to say a lot and I don’t get it. You can use that logic for majority of shows and movies people like. No one asked for Star Wars when it first came out.
