Your lampshade seemed like it was paper/cardboard like. I have a shade that has a sheerish fabric as its lining, do you think I can gold leaf that, or do you suggest i paint it instead? Thanks for your video, your shade looks beautiful.

Take fine steel wool "OO" and rub over it until you get it how you like it. Brighten it up with a soft cotton t shirt.
What are smoothing the gold leaf with after you glue it down…is that a sponge tipped brush?

but you put the lampshade on the lamp into the wrong direction, the lamp shade should look up to reflect the gold :-)
