    I'm Swedish n it's so entertaining to hear people trying to say the Swedish names. Like "Mörbylånga"......
    I think that almost every swede have visit IKEA at least one time in their life 😊 It's a fun place n the restaurant is serving yummy Swedish meatballs with our "famous" lingon berry jam (lingonsylt in swedish 😉)

    At least they acknowledged there's a strategy with the maze.
    As for chicken wings... let's admit la it's hard and cumbersome for a family to cook it themselves. There's preparation and there's cleanup. Going to Ikea and going for the food is hand-in-hand convenience. Another well-worked strategy by Ikea.

    You go Australia and you'll notice a lot of hardware and workwear shops. They do handyman stuffs themselves. Its because labour is expensive there. Buying the tools and gears you need is cheaper than paying someone to do it for you. And there will be space to keep their tools and gears because their homes are bigger on average and they usually have a garage.
    This is not the case in Singapore. Most of us live in HDB which are usually too cramp to assemble big furniture and struggle to find space to keep the tools and gears.
    Singaporean also like to taichi liability. If we break the furniture while assembling, it's our fault. Not the case if IKEA assemble it.
    So basically you need to be a decent handyman in Australia but it's optional in Singapore.

    I actually quite like assembling the furniture. But the drilling holes into walls is a bummer and the delivery charges are a major major turnoff.

    • @jakobtaillon-rodrigue3412
      @jakobtaillon-rodrigue3412 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Drilling holes in the wall is recommended for any lightweight furniture as they can tend to fall, especially if a chikd pulls on drawer, a cat jumps on and down shelves off , etc. It's not specific to IKEA.

    Ever since I moved to my own home, IKEA has been my go-to place for home needs.
    Being a smart home enthusiast, I've been obsessing with IKEA's line of Tradfri products. Even though setting up the hub can be tedious to set up, integrating it with Alexa subsequently is quite straightforward just as long as the hub detects the device.
    And there's something satisfying about assembling their furniture and other things.
    So to me, going to IKEA gives me that burst of ideas that I can come up with. You're made to really think out of the box and get your creative juices flowing.
    My only gripe is that some products like their Symfonisk sound systems took more than a year to be available in Singapore when other countries already had a taste of those products.

    Sometimes parts can be missing from the set and when you're forced to come back all the way back to a Ikea, the service center treats you like have made a horrendeous sin.
    It was at that point I start getting less Ikea furniture, and instead look at other sellers(mostly locals) with cheaper and sturdier furniture (Ikea's billy book cases have the worst back as it's just a board).
