I'm Swedish n it's so entertaining to hear people trying to say the Swedish names. Like "Mörbylånga"...... I think that almost every swede have visit IKEA at least one time in their life 😊 It's a fun place n the restaurant is serving yummy Swedish meatballs with our "famous" lingon berry jam (lingonsylt in swedish 😉)
You go Australia and you'll notice a lot of hardware and workwear shops. They do handyman stuffs themselves. Its because labour is expensive there. Buying the tools and gears you need is cheaper than paying someone to do it for you. And there will be space to keep their tools and gears because their homes are bigger on average and they usually have a garage. This is not the case in Singapore. Most of us live in HDB which are usually too cramp to assemble big furniture and struggle to find space to keep the tools and gears. Singaporean also like to taichi liability. If we break the furniture while assembling, it's our fault. Not the case if IKEA assemble it. So basically you need to be a decent handyman in Australia but it's optional in Singapore.
At least they acknowledged there's a strategy with the maze. As for chicken wings... let's admit la it's hard and cumbersome for a family to cook it themselves. There's preparation and there's cleanup. Going to Ikea and going for the food is hand-in-hand convenience. Another well-worked strategy by Ikea.
No wonder this comes from a kid. Haha..at some point u will need it..but, not bad at least u still can contribute..start young hahaha ..which falls back to their marketing strategy.. It's a success still though..hahaha
Drilling holes in the wall is recommended for any lightweight furniture as they can tend to fall, especially if a chikd pulls on drawer, a cat jumps on and down shelves off , etc. It's not specific to IKEA.
I love IKEA QATAR we used to hang out with my friends. So much fun looking around new items nice furnitures & interior designs. The Food court is cozy & delicious food. 👍🏼🥰✌🏽
Yeah, IKEA is built like my home and it's definitely not trying to lure me into buying more by making walk 3km in their store. Thanks god that they allow shortcuts now 😅
I will never go into an IKEA again, as the store is set up as a giant maze, where you have to walk through an endless set of display items in order to leave the store.
Ever since I moved to my own home, IKEA has been my go-to place for home needs. Being a smart home enthusiast, I've been obsessing with IKEA's line of Tradfri products. Even though setting up the hub can be tedious to set up, integrating it with Alexa subsequently is quite straightforward just as long as the hub detects the device. And there's something satisfying about assembling their furniture and other things. So to me, going to IKEA gives me that burst of ideas that I can come up with. You're made to really think out of the box and get your creative juices flowing. My only gripe is that some products like their Symfonisk sound systems took more than a year to be available in Singapore when other countries already had a taste of those products.
Absolutely right it's never ending stroll through their displays in the end enter market place and it starts with search of the item again. It's like a vicious cycle. IKEA Bengaluru 😁😄😆👌
The social media challenge really make more job desc for people who working there, imagine the shop is closing, I hope I can just went home straight home 😩
What will happen after the 30 yr lease at Alexandra expires? Please don't move away, Alexandra is a great size, unlike Tampines which is too big yet still very crowded and Jurong is very small and ill-equipped.
Fun fact Ikea Singapore makes you walk the whole showroom before allowing you to go to the marketplace while Ikea Qatar allows you to go down just like that....plus the seminal rubbish Billy bookcase
people who cannot assemble their own furniture should be banned from coming to ikea, srsly, their instruction is so clear than even my 10yo kids could do it by themselves alone without help. God help these ppl pls
Singaporeans... pampered and taking out the joy of everything...... it's really a joy to assemble these furnitures...... dont they play with Legos before? sheesh... Delivery i can understand as most of us do not own cars as COE is super expensive...
Sometimes parts can be missing from the set and when you're forced to come back all the way back to a Ikea, the service center treats you like have made a horrendeous sin. It was at that point I start getting less Ikea furniture, and instead look at other sellers(mostly locals) with cheaper and sturdier furniture (Ikea's billy book cases have the worst back as it's just a board).
omg everytime i go ikea with people, they always don't eat the lingon berry jam with the meatballs and they call me weird for loving the jam with my meatballs. I smother my meatballs with alot of jam to get that sweet and savoury taste ^^ But the only time i have to fight to get more jam is when i eat with my family, we all love the jam with meatballs.
I agree with the presenter, it’s just we are bad at assembling furniture. No time is nice excuse by the IKEA manager. Our D&T teachers all eat snake or we all sleeping in D&T class.

Singapore HDBs aren't small at all
Carousel is also not just found in Singapore but I was amazed to see that carousell is also advertised in the Philippines
At least they acknowledged there's a strategy with the maze.

Loved the wisecracking narration! I felt like I was watching a telenovela with a brilliant voice-over. :=)
Who else goes to IKEA just for the food? 🙋🏻♀️

I tried once, wont be going back for it again... sorry
Holy sh!t...imagine opening those wardrobes and finding a customer. I'd be freaked out!
I actually quite like assembling the furniture. But the drilling holes into walls is a bummer and the delivery charges are a major major turnoff.
Drilling holes in the wall is recommended for any lightweight furniture as they can tend to fall, especially if a chikd pulls on drawer, a cat jumps on and down shelves off , etc. It's not specific to IKEA.
My gosh, the voice over is so funny lol! Keep up the good work!
Ikea, the first thing that appear in mind for furniture and house appliances needs. Good quality and lasting items.

I love going to Ikea
Every IKEA in the world will offer Assebly and Delivery services. BUT as a SINGAPOREAN I would like to do it myself!
The social media challenge really make more job desc for people who working there, imagine the shop is closing, I hope I can just went home straight home 😩
The maze and putting the cafeteria at the top-most level are part of their marketing strategy. Hahaha

Exactly. Not to mention the satisfaction after assembling the products is priceless.

the ability to assemble IKEA furntiure is an intelligence test of sorts. But a low bar. CNA, can you get professional comedians?

Great series do more of these in the future.
You shud have a navigation app in store it’d be easy on us.

Many bloody lowballers in Carousel. Also have many scalpers
Most scandi men in the 19th century make their own furnitures. They got many pine trees.
Most majority of Taiwanese people like their IKEA furniture delivered and assembled, like the Singaporean too ! 😅😅
Ikea's wood is only.....
Can you please let me know how much is the unit cost ...
If swedish people pronounce it yee-kee-ah then it's yee-kee-ah
It is after all an acronym as they explained in the movie so the pronunciation is not that important.
