    have you ever rebuilt the spool valve thats on that tractor? mine are leaking and not sure if just pulling the caps off the rear and the spools (valves) will slide out the rear of the body housing.

      Yes I have but it's usually at the same time as I had to split anyways though if memory serves it can be done. Some so late with a response it didn't notify me . Thanks so much for watching

    I have an MF285 with a slow front loader. Is there any more info on the lever not getting full travel?

    • @vintagediesel-1
      @vintagediesel-1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The front loader is operated from a secondary pump. If your not getting full motion the pump has began to bypass. Time for a new secondary pump. Thanks for watching

    I watched your video on replacing the hydraulic pump on a MF 175. My husband has a MF 231S. He has replaced the hydraulic selector valve but it’s still leaking out from under it. Could it be air in the lines? If so how do you bleed the hydraulic system? I can’t find any videos talking about that. Also he has a 1953 Farmall tractor if you know anybody interested. Any info is appreciated. We are in central Ga.

    Awesome video just got done installing mine pump. This video helped a lot. Also for anybody doing this without a transmission, jack remove the top shaft. You can always install it in later once the tractor is put together.

    I have a MF180 that I've split about 6 times in the last 30 yrs. Always hydraulic issues, Nice tractor otherwise. Really can't understand why they put a pump in there that is this cumbersome to get out. Couple of questions. Is there a port I can put a guage on to check pump output pressures without dissembling everything, Does secondary have two sections? One for loader and other for multi-power and PTO. hey could have designed this better, Have you ever installed an external pump on this tractor to run off crankshaft? Thanks, Den from Wisconsin.

    • @vintagediesel-1
      @vintagediesel-1  หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is a good question.Yes there can be a gauge connected through a remote and it will let you know where pressure is living. There is 2 pumps a primary and a secondary in your case. one built to the other , not ideal lol. I imagine a crank driven pump could be modified to work and would make life much easier . Thanks so much for your input and for watching these videos.

      @@vintagediesel-1 Hoping for more detail like where exactly is this pressure monitoring port and do you know of an external pump being sold that will work and the details of mounting it. Would make a good video.

    Is that a multi power tractor? I bought a 165 and loader but the loader was not installed on the tractor and I noticed that the multi power doesn’t work in high range. I’m guessing now after watching this video that it may be the reason the loader isn’t on it? What you recommend being the first thing to check?

    Hi.
    I have a model, Massey Ferguson 135 made in 1978, can you help me with some clues (or some indications how to approach the problem ) regarding the below problem. My tractor haze a problem with hydraulic system. It's lifting the plow or other weights with the tie rod, but when I stop the engine, or when I push the clutch pedal the weights are going down. If there is nothing in the tie rod and I stop the engine the tie rods are staying up for one or two days, time in witch they are slowly coming down. Can you tell me if this problem is occurring from hydraulic pump (valves etc.) or it's from hydraulic piston (the segments of the piston head need to be changed)? The rest parts of the hydraulic works ok, the pto is also working fine. One thing I noticed that when I start the tractor and I lift a plow (for example), it's lifting it more quickly when the oil inside is cold and it's taking a little longer to do that after I'm working (plowing) with the tractor and the oil temperature from hydraulic system is higher.
    Thank you verry much!

    • @vintagediesel-1
      @vintagediesel-1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry it didn't see this. It seems as though your pump is bypassing fluid. About time to replace the primary pump. When it's cold the fluid is thick enough to keep pressure but as it thins it will begin to bypass if the pump is worn. Thanks for watching.

    My primary pump is not turning and the secondary pump has air bubbles coming out from under it, any ideas on what happened to it?

    • @vintagediesel-1

      Check the fluid level of course. Sounds like either the filter or bypass valve. Thanks for watching

    And do you HAVE to split the tractor to get the pump out?

    • @vintagediesel-1
      @vintagediesel-1  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yessir you will have to split it. You can take the 3 point top off and check the screen first however usually there is 2 pumps on these units. If the 3 point works but nothing at the remotes then it's the secondary pump. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.

      So if the hydraulics remote works but not the 3 point than it’s the other pump ?
