    Ben, I always marvel at the now lost idea manufactures kept in mind long ago of how to design equipment that would be easy to work on or modify in the future. Accessibility is a design trait long lost to greed,, that the modern world can't seem to understand. There is a reason people seek out older equipment - it was better built, better designed and much, much easier to maintain. 20 minutes to add rear remotes to a tractor...Amazing. That 20 minutes has given you much more flexibility in your personal operations, giving you reason to praise and not curse the manufacture. Well done to the greatest generation that used to work at MF. Well done. Thanks for bringing us all alone. Great video...

      This comment is great! There’s definitely draw backs to this setup because of it basically being a diverter but for our needs it’s perfectly fine. Some of these came with a factory remote that allowed use of both the 3 point and the remotes. But tractors built back in these days shows the pride a manufacturer had in their product. I love watching old Massey Ferguson promotional videos and factory videos. They were at one time a true leader in farm equipment! Thanks for watching

      I agree with you. I like the older tractors. Just like the older vehicles. They're easier to work on. But the newer has more options. Ether way I'm going to get me a good tractor one day. You're welcome

    Excellent video...👍 Keep your eye out for a front mounted pump off the crank. I think they work well with that series MF. My MF 50 with loader operates off a front pump. Much more gpm with the front pump and you keep the 3pt function.

    I had to do the same thing on my 3930 since it did not come with remotes. Got my kit off Amazon and it has worked great. I use it for tedding and raking too. Seems like you have a double backup plan now. You can ted with the 245 and rake with the 5045 and hold the Farmtrac in reserve for either? You actually have the enviable position to have a different tractor hooked to a each piece of hay equipment! I don't see how you can do hay work without a canopy these days. Sun must not be as brutal in your area as in the deep south where I live.

    • @khtractors
      @khtractors  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I’m sure the sun here isn’t as bad but some days it get rough. I’d like to get one on the Deere but it just barely clears a couple sheds now. Any extra height from a canopy would mess us up. Thanks for watching

      Using a remote valve to operate a splitter you position the tractor valve and tie it on with a string or bungee. Then just use the splitter valve to operate it while splitting.

    • @khtractors

      The power steering leaks on all these. You have a small reservoir on the right front of the engine. Remove the plug on top fill with fluid, then crank the tractor and work the steering right and left. You keep doing this until the fluid quits dropping in the reservoir. Hopefully this gets you going and it’s not any type of failure in the system.
