Would this work paired with the Telsen selfie stick as a base for more stationary photo/video? I don't want to get just a dedicated tripod as I have quite a few but want to have the flexibility. Will it lean over or is this steardy enough to support their I'm looking for versatility with options

If it's not new just use one of those mini bubble levelers to level it then trace the line. You should probably level your table first though

On a similar note some cameras have a digital version of a bubble level as a display option, my Sony a1 has that, but this is still a great idea.

While I don't have an H8, it should. The ball head supports my H6 and Manfrotto lists the maximum weight capacity at 2.2 lbs, so the H8 should be good!
