I bought a MT11 in June 2020 from amazon. Within a few weeks the rubber coating on a leg split near the top. It was replaced and within a few months the same problem reoccurred on the replacement. The split on the casing was close to the previous position of the first MT 11.
I reuse the very good ball joint mount on other things and didn't buy this brand again which is a shame because it was good tripod when it worked.

There is one more model MT-11. Which is better model? I primarily wants use it with my mirrorless and with lens it will weigh 1.5 kg
Thanks for this. My less than a year old gorillapod, which was a gift, so I have no receipt for, has two cracks on the sockets of one leg. This seems to be quite common given the number of TH-cam videos on how to fix it. Do they do spares? Of course not. Do I feel inclined to pay £62 for a new one? Of course not. It seems that even cheap knock-offs at a third of the price are better value in the long run, but this looks like a genuine alternative, of at least equal build quality at less than half the price. I'll definitely try one.

So you can change the ball head in this tripod? Is the ball head - "Ulanzi U-70 Metal Cold Shoe Ball Head"? I read this one can hold 20kg! or is that typo error

I just broke my JOBY GripTight just adjusting it and after few months of usage. I managed to redistribute nodes but I broke another one in the process...now it's so much shorter 😅

Unless they did a flip lever (which sounds like a pain to me) the lever probably would hit your camera while tightening. What ever happened to the quick connects in the old SLR day tripods?
i used to play with aluminium rods .. yeah its flexible and fun .. but you cant bend it more than a few dozen times, it will break. hopefully they have used a more resilient alloy than just aluminium rods ...
Am I dumb? I bought the pano vlog bullhead and the flexible tripod you suggested, but I can't seem to screw on the new attachment to the tripod... the screw seems to small for the ballhead attachment.

Why are the legs on hinges if they are already bendable? I need this for a DSLR and would have guessed a hinge would mean the legs might splay out under weight on a slippery surface. Or perhaps the hinges lock into any position? Thanks.
They don't lock in place, plus the leg hinge is very very loose. So use splayed wide only

Could you do a wee update, maybe even just in insta, but how good are the legs in weird and uneven places?
I'm wondering how good it'd be for us greenhouse vloggers. We struggle to fit kit into the greenhouse to film so a rig that would fit in all those weird nooks and crannies would be good. Doesnt fall over when you are trying to use uneven surfaces, maybe even wraps around staging spars?

I can't figure out how to open the Ulanzi thing up so it could be used as a phone holder.
Hi. Oh you have to pull it apart. It’s quite hard to explain over a message but pull the top part apart either end and it opens out. It’s like a spring

I had the Ulanzi Octopus mini in my amazon cart, however after looking at the specs for the phone holder, it only supported phones with a width of 2.84 inches.. and my phone is just over 3 inches wide 😢. It looks like the perfect phone holder for recording my work while working on engines, but unfortunately it doesn't support the Galaxy S23. Phones are getting bigger and wider these days, do you have a recommended phone holder that is flexible like this one that can withstand daily use in a business? please do share!
This may be too late to be of help but I have this tripod and with a set of pliers you can twist off the phone holder to reveal a 1/4 thread so maybe there are bigger 1/4 thread phone holders you could use? or maybe a ball head swap that has a big phone holder?
The tripod is great I use every day for video work, one leg has gone floppy now which is a tiny peg inside that snaps off but the leg is useable still.

Have you tested out the payload with the mt-33 + u70? I had the mt-36 and the octopus legs just broke. Ulanzi sent me an mt-33 as a replacement today. I plan to use the legs from the mt-33 with the falcam 38 that came with the mt-36. I used an s5 with a sigma Mc-21 plus tamron 24-70 g1 ef on my mt-36 and it worked great. Would your setup of the mt-33 legs + u70 ball head handle the payload of that s5 setup? Thanks.

Very short life span. Every time you bend the leg at the top, the metal weakens and then breaks, so for me it's not worth the money. Still looking for better tripod. Cheers

After a year of using it, the leg finally broken apart, I'm curious and dismantle the leg, the leg had this plastic part, it is deteriorated 😂😂😂😂 so.... There goes my ulanzi octopus tripod.
