- In this video, I went to visit my good friend Toto (Daddy on Duty) who lives in Moss Vale - a small country town in NSW, Australia. I asked him all about life outside the city and why he thinks he will never move back to Sydney.

When my wife starting working in a RSL, the locals were intrigued. Three lovely older women came up to the bar and asked Thanya “where are you from love?” Oh I’m from Thailand.
The response was? “Never heard of it” hahahahaha absolutely hilarious. Thanya was welcomed with opened arms and we still catch up with friends, co workers and customers today, even tho we live the other side of Melbourne. In many many ways my wife has that quint essential Aussie sense of humour whilst remaining very humble, very Thai, very Aussie.

Nice one Paddy. I had actually been wondering about Thai temples or monasteries outside the cities, but I never ended up visiting any. I expect there would be local Thai communities surrounding them. It looks like there might even be Lao temples too. Maybe another video idea?

Yep it sucks! I'm full Thai by blood but grew up in Australia, Melbourne. I've been living in Bangkok for the last 2 years but I can barely speak the language. My grandparents cry sometimes because they can't communicate with me :(

Keep at it everyone. I was born in the UK to parents from Hong Kong and although I can speak some, I never really learnt to read and learning has been a slow process. It takes a lot of effort and time to practice and find opportunities to use it so it can be difficult growing up in a different place to your roots. Don't give up!!!

About 30 years ago I got a chance to study at the University of Sydney in the field of teaching English as a second language. I really had a good time there and I had some good new friends too.

The Thai looks familiar. I think he modeled in Thailand. I was scouted when I was 17 in Bangkok back in 2005 but only stayed for 3 months then back for vacation. I love Thailand and almost every night I party. LOL

I'm one of them who sick of the city and the traffic. I was living in the city of Melbourne for 8 years. More than 20 years next to Bangkok. Now I just had enough. Finally I found the country home and I am loving it.

Great video I enjoyed that, My Thai wife is in Shepparton victoria and at first i introduced her to Sydney.
She now has two jobs there lots of Thai friends and a better lifestyle.
I am here in Thailand missing her but I need to look after the kids.

No offense Neville but is it good for your wife to be in another country and your in Thailand with the kids? Is it because big covid,?
@@glennoc8585 We was both over in Australia and the kids was being looked after but they needed one of us back with them.
My wife was applying for he partner visa and we was told she needs to be in Australia when the decision is made, We realized if she came back to Thailand that she would not get back into Australia and we would then lose all the money and time invested in getting her partner visa.
All good now she has the visa and permanent residency,
