My favorite part is Gerard trying to blow out the flame before getting the extinguisher. Think y'all can fix a bad solder on a laptop GPU? Apple Sucks!

Brad, I actually HAVE fixed a GPU solder failure, but on a 4 year old HP laptop. I exposed the chip, put 3 layers of foil AROUND the chip (protect the motherboard), and used a little pen torch to heat up the chip to reflow the solder. I was SUPPOSED to monitor temperature exactly, but got lucky that it got hot enough to reflow, but not too hot as to cook it. I also put a copper shim under the heat sink to replace the crappy pad that was there.
