  • This video applies to any Toyota or Scion using the 2.4 liter 4 cylinder engine (model 2azfe). This includes the Scion TC, 4cyl Camry (2002-2009), 4cyl RAV4 (2004-2009?).
At about 100K miles, it's time for me to change spark plugs. Of all the long term maintenance projects, this is one of the easier ones. Make sure you buy a spark plug socket with a rubber grommet inside to hold the spark plug! It will hold onto the plug so you can lift it out of the valve cover tube.
All the old plugs looked pretty normal and did not show signs of significant wear.

I know it may miss some deeper points, but as someone is trying to see how to spark plugs come off and how to access it it’s a perfect video 🔥

Disconnect the coil so you're not stretching, pulling and cracking the wires and use the coil to pull the old spark plugs out.

Not a good idea to drop spark plugs in since that might affect the gap. If you don't have a spark plug socket with the rubber gasket, get yourself a small rubber hose that fits over the white ceramic part of the spark plug so you can place spark plug in under your control. A small telescoping magnet is good for taking out the old plug.

Just push on back of clip and pull off connection. They come out easier that way.

Correct me if I am wrong, I have a 2007 Camry. Doing research for plugs I came across these as OEM. Denso (5304) IK20 Iridium Power Spark Plug

That model of spark plug is compatible with the standard Camry 4 cylinder engines (2azfe 2002-2010). The Camry Hybrid engine (2azfxe) uses the same spark plugs as the regular 4 cylinder Camry, so will work for that engine as well.
