    I make my cinnamon rolls spreading real butter down on the dough before the sugar and cinnamon powder. It makes them really gooey and so good. 🙂

Thank you for inspiring me to make these and to stay on my program which I struggle with! This is now 2022 and I calculated the points for this and guess what? For my personal points program they are one point! Definitely am going to make them and I love the idea of spreading the applesauce with the cinnamon and also adding the truvia to the dough! I might also try spreading with raspberry jam or date syrup with pecans or walnuts chopped up. I also might try savory with carmelized onions and a bit of cheese or just some fresh garlic with a bit of butter and olive oil.... mozzarella and sausage or pepperoni with tomatoes.... this recipe is pregnant with possibilities as my Mom used to say! Thank you so much and God Bless you and your family! You look great!

      Thank you for the compliment. 😊
      First of all, I don’t use Truvia anymore. I switched over to Lakanto monkfruit and also use Lakanto powdered sugar because both of those have remained zero. Swerve & Sukrin powdered sugar and sugar substitute now have points. You can definitely adapt this recipe. One of my favorites is cranberry & walnut with orange extract with an orange glaze. Savory is great, too. I use this dough minus the monkfruit in the dough to make cheddar jalapeño rolls, garlic rosemaryrolls, breadsticks, etc. Also makes a fun appetizer with ham and cheese rolled in the dough and cut into pinwheels. Have fun with it!

Rosemary garlic sounds delicious and the ham and cheese too! I might try it with onion and cheese and a bit of bacon too.... As my Mom used to say: "It's pregnant with possibilities!" lol Take care and keep up the great work! But if you use VANILLA GREEK YOGURT , it all tastes a heck of a lot better. If you're doing pizza or calzones, it makes it taste like the DiGiorno frozen pizza crust (kinda-sorta). I use it, and my pizzas are awesome!
    I am always substituting and adapting in the kitchen. I don't have patience for recipes or shopping for all of the ingredients to make sure they are all in the house at the same time, so I substitute like crazy and adapt just because... well, I guess it's just because I don't like rules alotta times...
    Anyway, I had not thought to do cinnamon rolls with this dough, but I did think to use crushed pineapple, drained and then dried a bit on paper towels, mixed up a biscuit recipe, added sugar, a splash of almond or vanilla extract, and voila! , scone dough ( or near enough, in my estimation - I told you of my impatience with recipes already )! So I roll it out, put my pineapple, cinnamon and sugar, and added Golden Raisins - NOT Muscats, which are gold in color: ALSO, NOT those nasty brown ones that get bitter when you bake them - because the Goldens stay sweet after baking,, and drizzled on my butter and rolled & sliced them up and baked 'em. Voila! . . . Yummy pineapple rolls for breakfast. Or whenever.
    And then I thought . . . I need some cream cheese/Neufschatel and some powdered sugar and a dab of vanilla paste, a splash of milk...then made some icingfor them. I have not heard or seen anyone else doing this, have you? These pineapple cinnamon rolls, that is, not the icing - the icing is pretty commonplace, isn't it?

    • @italianwifey-marianne1632
      @italianwifey-marianne1632  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Really? I can see using vanilla yogurt for a sweet though for fruit turnovers or cinnamon rolls. I’m not sure about a savory crust, though. I haven’t heard about the pineapple cinnamon rolls. I’ve used cranberry, cherries, blueberries, apples, but never pineapple. I always have Sukrin icing on hand to make a glaze so I don’t need cream cheese or milk.

      @@italianwifey-marianne1632 I'm pretty sure DiGiorno's frozen pizza crust does not have vanilla in it, but it does have sugar, i'm sure, or something like sorbitol there is something sweet in it.
      I heard about two ingredient dough and I rushed right out to get some Greek yogurt and accidentally picked up vanilla flavored because I have no idea about yogurt in big tubs or Greek yogurt at all. So I go on ahead and make my pizza and I'm tasting it and I'm thinking huh this tastes like DiGiorno's, kinda. Then I started concentrating on it and sure enough it does taste a teeny tiny little bit weird when you concentrate on "what is ... is that strange unknown blah blah.." well , it was the vanilla, i decided but it's negligible and no one else noticed and the rest of the family said "hey this tastes like that frozen pizza everybody's talking about...".
      It was popular opinion and I guess that the store brand Greek yogurt doesn't have near the same amount of vanilla flavor in it as, say, a brand name like OIKOS. Who's to say which company is leasing the product and putting it in their own labeled packages? Next time, I would probably just get the Oikos and add sugar or make sure to get plain and add up to a Tbsp sugar for pizza crust. I don't like the yogurt dough as is, when done with plain, at all. I got no problem with making a yeast dough for myself or tearing open a package or two of store-bought, store brand pizza crust mix from Kroger or Walmart. I'm still working on making plain yogurt dough interesting for my palate, and my peeps...while jamminx on the vanilla greek yogurt dough for my special Cinna-yummy-num Rolls.
      Are you going to try them? They're so awesome! It takes an entire regular size can of crushed pineapple and the amount of dough for a very large, regular thickness crust pizza. Couldn't tell you how many cinnamon rolls because that varies from time to time and sometimes I just make up a biscuit dough.
      Anyway, I usually save the juice over for breakfast the next day or I sometimes use the juice and prepare a powdered sugar glaze with or without butter and no extracts except sometimes coconut, just a half or a teaspoonful. I have also sprinkled in some shredded coconut, unsweetened, and I have also use the sweetened. It's always good and I'm like a mad scientist in the kitchen and I don't like to eat the same thing, the same way all the time.

    Have you tried using dental floss to cut your cinnamon roll instead of a serrated , chance of damaging your mat?
    For those who are not sure of what I'm talking about , this might explain it for you , Get a long piece of unflavored dental floss, slide it underneath the roll, put it where you would like to cut, pull up both sides of the dental floss and switch hands, crossing the dental floss, and pull up until it slices through the roll. This will prevent you from having squashed rolls, they will have a nice flat cut. 🍥☕

      I'm sure you did! Two-ingredient dough is something that is big in the WW community where you use two ingredients (yogurt and self-rising flour) to make a skinny low point dough. I add salt, herbs, sugar to the dough depending on if I’m making something sweet or savory. The recipe is NOT two ingredients, it's the name of the dough. Butter makes everything better, but butter is high in WW points so now I use butter spray and have adjusted the description to reflect that.
