yea the 5 minute scene at the end where obi wan looked directly at the screen and said my credit card number and cvc out loud was a weird choice but i feel like it added to the story over all.
I genuinely think the finale fight was great because Kenobi actually had great emotion through Ewan McGregor with the line "I'm sorry Anakin" "I'm sorry for everything" was great
but it was also stupid cos he knew that Anakin was no longer apart of vader (or at least was told and thought so) so he could have just finished vader then and there and saved so many lives and the sequels would never have needed to happen lmao
There were definitely bits of good direction from Deborah Chow throughout the series, when Anakin absolved Obi Wan of his guilt by admitting that he was the one responsible for his own fall almost brought me to tears. Plus having his face illuminated by the blue light of Obi's saber when he did this to further show that there is still light somewhere in Anakin was just the perfect touch. Shame that the series was mixed in with some of the worst story filler content as well.
I feel like Star Wars under Disney has lost what made it Star Wars, and they're doing the equivolent of what happens when companies like EA and Activision buy out smaller but very dearly loved gaming companies only to run them into the ground by merely exploiting their namesake and failing to deliver what made them a success in the first place. They completely disregarded the Extended Universe, and now they don't even have respect for cannon.
As if the prequels didn’t ruin everything about the OT first. Star Wars had lost the magic a long time before Disney, nostalgia blinds prequel fans from seeing it
@@l0rdsnorlax the prequels were bad, everyone agrees on that, but the thing is, they told a consistent story(more so than disney) they also had great ideas and good characters. @@l0rdsnorlax Prequels were bad because of the cringe. But the lore was really good imo. Original had the best story because it was personal for the characters. Genuinely the most boring show I've ever seen. 3 pirates chase a toddler through the woods for 10 minutes and hit their heads on branches for no reason. Vader is stopped by steam and hot coals but can pull down a space ship. Nothing ever happens. The emperor's "I made snoke" monologue and midichlorians show how stupid it is to base a goofy fantasy series around scifi lore. Star Wars is much closer to Dragon Ball than it is to Star Trek. Do these extended universe fans even like a new hope? Those two things have nothing in common and the lore is boring. Star Wars is a fast paced adventure that's been turned into the most dull dnd campaign

@@baconbellypig826 I agree, the morbius meme is dead, but your complaining on a TH-cam comment isn't going to change the fact that people will still ironically use "It's morbin' time".
I think most was either bad or just kinda nothing, but the good bits tap into my nostalgia and make them work. Ewan and Hayden as a pairing is just one of those magical actor pairings that has a tonne of chemistry and is fun to watch. It's easy to buy into their friendship. I really enjoyed the scene at the end, even if the writing is a little wonky.
I think the point of "nerfing vader" was actually intentional. In the last episode it seems very clear to me that Vader couldn't kill obi wan because he didn't want to. He could fight him, and get very close, but just as obi wan couldn't finish the job on mustafar, anakin can't kill his friend. I actually think it makes a lot of sense and it further confirmed during the conversation with palpatine in the episode.
yup and this was backed up by Palpatine telling Vader to forget about it, because he knew Vader couldn't finish it, and it was making him 'weak', which i think sets up Vader becoming more powerful following this story
I loved the part when Obi-Wan grabs the gauntlet from thanos and says "it's morbin time" then snaps all the dead younglings back into existence. 10/10 series.
Imo, I couldn't stand the writing in this show. There are so.many plot holes, even the writer admitted that he hasn't seen episode 3 and also took influence from the last jedi. To me its BS and I didn't really enjoy the show. But that's my opinion at least there are people that enjoyed it.
What I love most about the series is Obi-Wan and Leia’s relationship, the flashbacks of Anakin and Obi-Wan, and their lightsaber confrontation. I love that Darth Vader is still conflicted, and there’s still a part of Anakin inside him. I also love the way Obi-Wan’s feelings evolved throughout the series. He was refusing to use the force at first, but then he gave in and started to regain his strength. I think the motivation to protect the children definitely helped him become himself again.
i dont think he was intentionally not using it, I'm pretty sure it was more along the lines of he was trying but couldn't, like his connection to the force was a bit out of wack, which IMO there isn't really any reason it should be
the last episode was badass, vader's lines were chilling and Ewan Mcgregor's acting was fantastic. I also thought the interaction between Vader and Palpatine in this was great storytelling
a top notch actor like charlie reading hte lines of reva you can really see his skill coming through, copying even the actress perfectly bravo, another wonderful performance
I loved the part when everyone in the comments did the same joke and got a lot of thumbs up for it, 10/10. EDITED: for you pedants out there, you're welcome.
It’s an ok show, mainly because of Ewan and Hayden carrying it to being ok. Other than that, there are a lot of problems with it. However, it could’ve been much worse. Reva is getting her stand alone show next, so we’ll see how that goes.
Reva isn't confirmed to be getting her own series now, but I wouldn't be surprised if she does since Star Wars really wants to be the MCU now. She'll probably return in some form at the very least.
I have ti be honest, i just finished the show and i cant believe for the first time i 100% agree with everything he said. I was thinking literally the same things while watching the show. Mid is a great explanation.
My issue with the finale episode. If reva had died in the last episode. You can literally edit out her involvement in this episode and you just get a choppy fight between Obi wan and Vader due to the edit. She literally adds nothing. You could call it a redemption arc. But not all characters should get redemption . Sometimes it’s good to show that there are permanent/lethal consequences to one’s actions. She took on Vader in an act of revenge/arrogance. Two deadly sins right there. If it’s to make a spin off show. STOP. There’s too many to count right now. They all take place before the sequels which makes them canonically pointless if the characters aren’t interesting. Reeva was a decent character. But the assassin droid HK-47 series would interest me more. He makes a Hutt explode.
It was planned that way, they definitely set it up so they could remove most of her scenes for the Chinese audience. They completely bend over backwards to appease the Chinese government , which is actually incredibly racist.
In the finale, from the start of the Obi-Wan Vs. Vader scene to the credits I was smiling ear to ear. It was amazing. It was honestly the best piece of Star Wars film I have ever seen in my opinion. And hearing Vader's voice cross over with Anakin's was such a good addition. And hearing Obi-Wan say those simple two words at the end sent me.
The real take away I get from this show (and really only the last episode is what’s necessary) is that it gives Obi Wan the closure to let go of his guilt, and it clarifies Luke and Leia’s relationships and knowledge of Obi Wan. All and all a lot more time could’ve been spent on vader and maybe their relationship pre revenge of the sith but, I’m not complaining we still got some great stuff

*After hearing about Scott Derrickson* pitching a cosmic horror Star Wars movie set on Hoth - and Guillermo Del Toro pitching a “Godfather” Star Wars movie with Jaba.. I’m confused as to why these type of shows are given the green light over the gems I just mentioned.
I think it should have been a 10 episode show to flesh out some of the characters a bit more. It’s mid but added some great moments even if fragmented throughout the show.
Personally I would take out all of the Jedi supporter characters and focus more on the main cast. This show had way too many side characters that added nothing to the show. Reva needed a lot of work too she’s ok at best mostly towards the last half, but still the writing for her is ehh
10 episodes are u mad, the show was already boring as hell and empty for 6 episodes. Lets stand 4 additional episodes with nothing but filler and Disney crap.
Show being mid is a pretty good description. Has bad moments has good moments. Last two episodes are pretty solid. When I initially heard about obi wan after revenge of the sith. I thought/hoped they’d lean in an unforgiven or Logan direction. A good man who made mistakes wallowing in their guilt about their past. Getting pulled back into things by leia/Luke. And him finally being at peace with himself by the end
Unironically, episode 6 was one of the best pieces of star wars media since Disney bought it. So many references to the clone wars and rebels. It was great and I always wanted a grandmaster Obi-Wan.
@@leonrussell9607 because the prequels are my childhood. And I would rather have Disney give references to older work than create new bullshit like the sequels. Plus this is my opinion btw

When vader said "who has the high ground now." and obi wan responded with "We're looking at sea otters, six of them here." That was the best moment in star wars history.
My opinion on Kenobi is similar to Rebels. The show is at its best when it deals with Obi-wan and vader (as for rebels it was maul and ahsoka) other then that, its hard to care about the other characters. Especially Third Sister, she just kinda exists
ok but what about when Thrawn showed up in Rebels, I legit loved every bit of him in Rebels and he only lost in that show due to the incompetence of his subordinates.
The whole show felt like it was fixing the plot hole of Kenobi not being emotional at all when meeting Vader on the Death Star. Now it makes sense since he realises his friend is truly dead in this show.
"They nerfed vader" *smash cut to Vader ripping a starship out of the sky starkiller style and tearing it to shreds while proceeding to wipe the floor with third sister*
I honestly love how they portrayed Darth Vader, the fights he has with Obi-Wan are some of the highlights of the show for me, especially considering how in the first fight with Vader, Obi-Wan is much more weaker and scared while in the second fight he fights him head on. And I love how Vader is portrayed during these fights too.
The part where he walks through the village murdering innocents then hunts down Kenobi and burns him alive is honestly my favourite Vader moment ever. He's never felt that intimidating before, not even in Rogue One. It's a huge shame people discredit the whole scene because of a dumb mistake where he lets him get away.
@@shearman360 it’s probably a good scene, but am I shilling out 13.99 a month and wasting my time watching middle school level character development for multiple hours? Nahhhh fam lol I’m an adult I ain’t even finishing this video. Just dropping by for the algorithm and to leave a comment.
The whole series feels like ur inside of obi wans mind, you can literally feel his pain and grief stemming from failing anakin and ultimately losing his 'brother'. Throughout the series we witness obi wan getting stronger with his bond with leia growing, giving him hope for the future. Reva's character also reflected anakins pain because the character shared many traits with him. I mean reva is literally afraid she turns into anakin and the similarities between the two are obvious. They really showed vader in his prime aswell. Only questionable thing is he let the ship escape but i think that scene was a demonstration of how vaders rage towards his old master had blinded him a bit as sidious says in ep.6. A couple of funny scenes for sure (leia chase was a wtf moment). But, with that all said Ep. 6 was hands down the best episode and had some of the greatest moments in star wars history. As a person who grew up with the prequels this series delivered a lot of good moments, nostalgia and really was a good service to the fans.
Personally I didn’t like how they handled obiwan. At all. One of the strongest Jedi ever, who was able to go toe to toe with anakin, then Vader not once, but twice, while Vader was in his prime, only to be a giant wimp when he’s confronted. I got the whole “don’t act and give myself away” bit, but for him to struggle AT ALL against Reva, then square off against Vader in the finale just felt forced.
100% agree, don't really know what Charlie was saying about the 6th episode, I thought it was pretty perfect front to back honestly. I guess maybe he was referring to how Vader pursued Kenobi with his entire Star Destroyer rather than splitting up? Even then, I feel like it speaks to the way Vader's mind was clouded by his desire to "destroy" his old master. He goes after Obi Wan alone despite bringing the whole ass star destroyer after all.
@@LegendArySayain Ten years of fear, isolation, and menial labor will do that to a person. I do not understand this criticism of the show at all.
The prequels at least expanded the world in a meaningful and creative way. Meanwhile everything Disney is clearly designed to nostalgia bait.
You also miss the point of the main comment. Disney is a Corp that makes movies based of checklists. This will but buts in seats and so on. As much as I don't like Lucas's inflated ego, he was at least passionate about creating stuff for the world of Start Wars

Fr tho wish they just could have just made the parent hit her instead of missing her by a mile whole she barely moves and is 5 meters away

Obi Wan's development from a cynical, weak middle aged man to finding his inner strength and becoming a proper heroic Jedi again is one of the best aspects of the show, imo.
I loves the Hayden Christensen scenes, the flashbacks and the order 66 scenes. also I almost cried when I saw my favorite character at the very end!
My favourite part of this season gotta be when Obi-Wan said “It’s Kenorbi time” and started to cut off Darth Vader’s limb again before mocking him about the high ground.
10/10 Show
Please be funny
Honestly would have liked that better than a lot of the scenes
kenorbi
Stupid joke and overused meme
When Mobius teamed up with Jar Jar Binks to defeat Darth Vader, it shook my very heart. Only for end with Obi-Wan saying “it’s forcin time”, truly the most spectacular moment of the show.
Not funny
After episodes 5&6 I can confidently say I enjoyed it quite a bit. I was quite scared after episode 4, but I’d give it a 7.5 or 8/10 personally. I love the relationship between leia and obi wan
i agree. i think a lot of the performances are very good. Ewan is great, Hayden/the Vader doubles are great, and i really liked the leia actress.
I was happy seeing Obi Wan making a return especially this actor but it's weird I remember hearing this got leaked I think back in 2020 as a movie? Tbh it really should've been a movie.
They dropped the movie ideas after the solo film tanked
