I didn't knew freeCAD is capable of doing such analysis! Thanks for sharing.
One suggestion from me: You shouldn't use pressure BC on inlet and outlet at the same time. It is much better to use mass flow at inlet and pressure outlet. Especially if You are running inviscid flow.

Thank you very very very much. What to say, whatever workflow for CFD I was looking for including installing necessary software, you generously presented to everybody in 2 videos. Absolutely amazing. I am sure that everybody greatly appreciate your efforts and expertise.

    Hello.
Thank you for this tutorial. It's really clear and easy to understand.
I've tried to reproduce same actions you are doing. I'm facing an issue, that pressure resudials are not dropping below 10^(-2) with meshing 25 mm (nor with 20 or 5 mm).
    I'm running
    OS: Ubuntu 18.04.6 LTS (ubuntu:GNOME/ubuntu)
    Word size of OS: 64-bit
    Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit
    Version: 0.19.24366 (Git) AppImage
    Build type: Release
    Branch: (HEAD detached at 0f9259c)
    Hash: 0f9259cda103ae1824ac16c68ac9b4a0d54b05fc
    Python version: 3.9.7
    Qt version: 5.12.9
    Coin version: 4.0.0
    OCC version: 7.5.3
    Locale: Russian/Russia (ru_RU)
    with
    openfoam2106
Do you have any ideas what can cause such behaviour and how can I overcome this issue?

The problem could be all sorts of things. Try changing the mesh for different settings and simplify the geometry if it has any complex parts. Boundary conditions might play a role as well. Good Luck

Meshing is a challenge. Play with all the parameters you can, simplify any unnecessary features and remove from the model may help.

    hi,
tysm for the videos, you are a great source for learning freecad.
Can you please make a video for more detailed FEM, like, details of messhing, materials solvers and etc ?
    especially their advantages.
also two very interesting corners that i am eager to learn, is there a optimization on FEM ?
even not 100 percent automatic will be amazing.
like coding to change some paramaerters gradually, so we can compare the results by ourselve afterward.
the last one is impact or collisions or two part, not only one moving part colliding with other moving or stationary part, but two stationary parts, which at least one of them will be deformed due to a force and then reaches to the second part.
i know multibody isn't covered by feecad, which is a shame, but i was hoping that you can suggest a way aroung it.

well, im stuck. i can do very basic CFD, but now i want to do a cfd of my small 650mm wind turbine blade i made. I can not figure out the inlet and outlet surface on my blade haha.
My main goal is to have air hit(flow) into the top surface of my blade at a particular speed, then measure the force in newtons of that wind speed. But i do not even know where to begin haha

    • @JokoEngineeringhelp
      @JokoEngineeringhelp  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

You can do an external flow analysis like in this video here:
      th-cam.com/video/JVO2kqO3D1Q/w-d-xo.html
You also, on some platforms, set things to spin. I'm not sure if you can do it in FreeCAD, you might be able to in Salome Mecca.

MPI stands for message parsing interface which used for parallel calculation in CFD. From your error, it appears that you haven't installed MPI in your PC. If you're using Ubuntu then you should be able to find complete tutorial on how to install MPI in your PC. Google is your friend at this point. Good luck.

I had that error before. I installed with a different method and it fixed the error. I had it come up a long time ago on either the appimage or a flatpak installation I was running so I opened the file in the CAElinux pre-installed version of FreeCAD, updated and ran it and I didn't get that error.

Hi, thank you for making interesting videos! I learn a lot from your videos. I did watch you videos on running fluid simulation for external flow from STL file. I am wondering is it possible to simulate internal flow from a hollow STL file?
