    Thank you very very much Bernd, I was having very hard time to understand what I am suppose to do. With this video from you I started understanding at least some of the steps between FreeCAD and Paraview.

    Sir, in 2:51 I didn't see OpenFoam install directory and paraview executable path automatically. In my case, they are blank and I don't know which file I should use. Do you have any suggestions?
    Thanks for the tutorial!

    • @techbernd5535

      Sir, thank you very much for your question. May I kindly ask you to post your question in the FreeCad-Forum (forum.freecad.org/viewforum.php?f=37)? In the FreeCad-Forum, you will find more experts who can answer your question. When posting your question, please also write your OS (Windows 10, Windows 11, Linux, ...) and the FreeCad-Version and the CfdOf-Version you are currently using.
      Please notice that my tutorial is 1 year old, in this video, I am describing the installation of the blueCFD-package. Meanwhile, the installation of the MinGW package became possible. The installation of the MinGW package is similar to the installation of the blueCFD-package, but there are some slight differences. For this reason, please post in the FreeCad-forum if you tried to install the blueCFD-package or the MinGW package.

    Hi Bernd, is symmetry constraint like a wall? Why didn't we use wall, non slip instead of symmetry constraint? Thanks.

    • @techbernd5535
      @techbernd5535  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi shuvashishroy6006, a constraint like a wall would also be feasible. Please mind that this tutorial is about starting FreeCad CfdOf, so I made the most simple calculation possible.
      Constraints / boundary conditions can be interpreted physically or mathematically. A wall with no slip for examples defines mathematically the speed (= zero) and the pressure. A symmetric boundary condition defines the symmetry of this object, means, that anything that happens in the left half is identical with the right half.
      I chose a symmetric boundary condition because for postprocessing, you can interpret anything you see as a slide through this system. If you take a look on my tutorial about cars (th-cam.com/video/KWbUaiE9SBc/w-d-xo.html), you will understand how a symmetric boundary condition works. A symmetric boundary conditions has advantages in postprocessing (= similar to a slide through an object) and advantages in calculation time (= half of the calculation time)

    Great introduction. Unfortunately tried importing a file that was originally done in Rhino into FreeCAD and could not get the CFD to work. If I have a native Rhino file what is the best format to export it in so that it can be read correctly in FreeCAD?

    Is there a reason face7 isn’t constrained (eg. also as a wall)? Is does the symmetry on face8 mean that the opposite face doesn’t need to constrained? Thanks for this tutorial series, I think they will help a lot 👍

    • @techbernd5535
      @techbernd5535  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @rhodriwilliams2891: You are right, face 7 is not constrained. That was a mistake that happened to me during the recording. Normally, this surface should also be constrained.

      If you need information, please write your request clearly and in detail. In any case, it is better to make this request in the FreeCad forum than here. And please don't use abbreviations. The abbreviation "smae" doesn't mean anything to me, so I can't answer your question. I have recorded 15 tutorials about FreeCad CfdOf, isn't there a tutorial that will help you with your question? You always have to understand the basics first, so my first tutorials will help you before you can tackle more complicated questions.
