    I work with equipment and I've lived by "never trust hydraulics" it only takes one seal to go to drop the machine. Purely for safety you should use some timber to chalk it up. Same idea of using jack stands instead of trusting a floor jack.

    • @shotslife
      @shotslife  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yep I agree that’s why I was so stretched out trying to keep my body in the clear but a timber is a good idea

      No Sir, they are sealed.. guess that ensures nothing gets in. Thanks!

      Lol, I actually didn’t... I hit TH-cam support up to see what’s going on, they say “everything” is correct... I think I am going to take a bath on this video...

    What is the part number of the rollers you used and what dealer did you use? I’ve ordered two different aftermarket brands and they were too wide. Would not fit. I have a 2013 27D. Thanks!

      ECO parts. (On Amazon) John Deere 35D 27D Top Carrier Roller Part No 9237948 but contact the person first with the measurements of your old ones so they send the correct size.

    John Deere not happy you are doing your own work. They are probably figuring out a way to prevent this from happening again in the future by engineering in special fasteners and computer software to disable the machine to prevent anyone from doing their own work.

    Well done on the repair, and video quality!
    ...
    Yeah, I cringed when you were standing on that breaker bar. And when you were crawling around underneath without additional chassis support (I have had a hydraulic jack fail on me).
    Be safe, Chief! We look forward to seeing you for many years to come!

    like a 2',or 3', or even a 4'. piece of pipe to extend the handle of the wrench works a hell of a lot better then standing on it.! DUDE. rack your ankle up like that & you will become Mr. limpy in a big Hurry.! just saying.? :-0

    • @shotslife
      @shotslife  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yup, need a piece of pipe, don’t have one, thanks for watching!

  • @westie4ageturbo.749
    @westie4ageturbo.749 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Two things, chock the the machine like others have said,
    and save yourself when doin the hard work. Get a force multiplier ( big arse bit of pipe) that way you dont bust a gut undoing and tightening the bolts.
    They teach this at work now (bhp) and its taken a while to come around to that way of thinking as it was always easy to muscle it ( what ever needed undoing or doing up)
    But you only have one body no point wearing it out when some bloke worked out centuries ago about fulcrums and leavers etc..
    Keep the vids coming

    Block that thing up, you are relying on the hydraulics of that thing to not cut your hands off.
