I own a P4K. I would definitely get the 6K pro, especially as an A cam. I think the hardware improvements made on the 6K pro are incredible. At the same time, I would love to wait and see if BMD makes something with an RF mount. This only matters to me because with the RF mount I can easily mount any vintage glass on it.
They are both great cameras for sure! It will be interesting to see what they release in October. As a new camera seems almost inevitable at this point.
@@FrameVoyager hopefully something with RF. I’m not too bothered by full frame. I think a S35 sensor with RF which can allow us to use a speed booster would be great
There are soo many lenses, adapter’s and boosters out there that MFT will be a viable option for years to come.. I like the fact an ef mount on a MFT will give you 2 focal lengths, say a 24mm on an adapter gives you basically a 50mm, same lens with a speedbooster keeps it around 24mm..
This is the ultimate BMPCC4K vs 6K pro on youtube. (I have 240 BMPCC4K related videos in a playlist so I really know what I'm talking about lol). As for now, I invested in two BMPCC4Ks. One two weeks ago. They are workhorses. One issue I have with the 6K and 6K pro, is the lack of locking EF mount. With the 4K, you can use a cage and a cine speedbooster from metabones that allows you the lock your ef glass. The only drawback is the formfactor for gimbal work. I feel like battery life is a none issue, just use an external npf or vlock and you're good to go (I use two NPF970s mounted on a NEEWER Vlock conversion plate and it works great). One thing they could improve, is giving us 2 usb c, one dedicated to recording and the other one used to connect to a gimbal or something else. When Blackmagic will annonce new cameras in october, I hope they will just make a RF mount bmpcc4K in the formfactor of a blackmagic micro, but I doubt they can because of patents, using mft mount would be ok too. Bigger and with a screen on top or on the side, a smaller ursa would be great. I don't really found a need for 6K resolution tbh. Thanks a lot for the ANIME it is a lot of fun. Have a nice day !
@@FrameVoyager i finally watched the complete video. its was really interesting. Anime theme and you also discussed about future lenses. i was also thinking about new Mirrorless mounts from Nikon/Canon. those lenses are really sharp but i don't there will be anyway to adapt them on cinema cameras. that distance between in mount and sensor is to short and there is no possibility of putting inbuilt ND filters. so i don't see most of cinema cameras manufacturers going into that direction any soon. and when you discussed about footage you prefer 4k camera footage over 6k. i also felt same when i bought full frame D750. my first short film was on my D7000 and footage was more sharper then full frame and had some texture which me and my friend really liked. for future i am interested in BMPCC. love the colors.
Glad that it was an interesting video beyond the anime bit! That was more to make the boring technical parts more interesting. But yeah, older sensors have that nice look to them sometimes, but it's all so subjective to the creator. The lenses discussion to me is the most interesting. It's going to be interesting to see the direction BMD goes in October with the inevitable release of a new camera.
@@FrameVoyager i just hope they come up with a small Box shaped body other then new BMPCC. that will be very interesting if they can just put 6k pro sensor into the komodo style body with inbuilt ND filters and BM pricing. i am sure they can keep the price at same range.
I think a lot of people are wanting that for sure! Will be interesting to see what they come out with. I feel like whatever it will be will replace the 12k and maybe the G2 with that new sensor they've been using.

Super lost when it comes to these two cameras. I got the 6K pro and the image is absolutely crazy. Just not sure whether its worth getting the 4k JUST so I can use the budget anamorphics, and yes, i realize theyre lacking when it comes to true anamorphics, but nonetheless, are still great lenses. I think a client pays you for your work and creative vision and not which camera you use. At the same time, I do understand the advantage of impressing a client with big cameras.
