- Judith (Sally Kellerman) shows off the Bellero Shield to her father-in-law, Richard (Neil Hamilton). Richard is amazed by the shield, as Judith suspected he would be. However, the presentation turns awry when the shield proves to be much more dangerous than Judith realized.

One of the greatest episodes of television ever produced! Sally Kellerman is incredible!
Sally Kellerman was highly deserving of an Emmy for her portrayal as Judith Bellero. She effectively stole the episode!
Farewell, Sally. She was smart, sexy and terrifying in this Lady Macbeth role.
An excellent episode! Sally Kellerman was superb in this role and one of my favorite actresses. She was in an episode of Star Trek that was one of my favorites.

She gets the dying aliens who brought this shield to Earth with them to manually open it to let her out.
Watching this episode this early morning. One of THE best from Outer Limits. Always thought this story would make an incredible motion picture for the big screen. It's too good to be kept out of the limelight! A big "THANK YOU" for posting.
I remember this. I might have been 14, a long time ago. The device needed to be connected to the alien, as it was his blood that made it function. That was over 40 years ago, and I still remember it.
"... The man who invented this could rule the world,
or save it if you prefer ... "

I remember seeing this episode as a young boy and wondered why they just couldn't cut a hole in the floor and get her out.
It’s revealed in the episode that the force field extends into the foundation of the house at least. At any rate the alien mentioned it was impervious to entry so it would have to be a complete enclosure.

@@zanti4132 Well, one thing is the fictional element of the episode, and another is what budgetary constraints allow for.

Or, in this case be aware of the “biological” connection of the device to the “bifrost” being.
The older guy is an actor named Neil Hamilton who also played Commissioner Gordon in the 60s Batman TV series. As soon as he spoke with that Irish accent I thought he might be and google confirmed it.
