Damn, not only are you an insanely talented LEGO builder, but your video explanation of how it works is amazing. Nice work breaking it down into easily understood parts. (P.S. The little arm on the hands to release the ball is so damn clever.)
This is absolutely genius. I remeber the original post but I appreciated the creativity more when you explained why and where you used the specific parts.
if you can figure out how, perhaps a drop in the basket to under the set up could lead to a conveyor back to the beginning to reduce and potentially avoid refilling.
If you could figure out a way to drive the robots around a corner, you could loop back on yourself for an "independent" GBC. Of course, just running 4 of what you already have would achieve the same thing, but would be less cool, IMO.
Thank goodness you finally posted a new video. I haven't seen a good technic video in a while. You should make more videos (seeing that we are in quarinteen and all)
Beautifully elegant mechanisms there - and so clever with the modular design. Will be really interested to see how this does at a show, but I guess we will have to wait and see ☹️
Yeah, I'm really curious, too. I mean, I could just run it for a few days at home, but that's no fun, and it's pretty loud, and all of my GBC balls are pretty clean and new, so it's not really a real world test.
Thank you very much for many clarifications. I still need to see how the robots' heads and bodies come together. It is a beautiful and engaging GBC. Thanks again. FernandoQ.
It'd be cool if you connected the end bin to the start so there balls run back to the beginning and you don't have to refill the balls in the front. Amazing work as alwaysn
Sadler_bricks here Great video this is pretty amazing i probably have the parts in our bricklink store anyways great video love the design of it all Sadler_bricks
is the hight of the feeder low enough that it fits under the exit? Would be really cool to see 4 of these sit in a square formation circling the balls around so you don't need to refill the feeder.
It's completely modular, that means we can insert other pushrod driven mechanisms in between robots, as long as they take from the stand on one side, get the ball to the other side, and pass the power down the chain.
Absolutely, and great idea! You could definitely insert some other transfer unit, as long as it can pick up the ball from one pedestal and drop it onto the next.
I've seen that building instructions are available on GBC planet website: www.planet-gbc.com/gbcmodule-jkbrickworks-robotdreams/. I'm gonna buy the parts ! 👍
Although I absolutely love your builds, I don’t want to loose you to GBC . I also do GBC but almost everyone who builds mechanical LEGO ultimately ends up in GBC. We need some creative minds to stick to kinetic sculptures. Sorry if this seems selfish 😁

Beautiful Jason! Easily one of the most beautiful GBC modules ever! Bravo and thanks for sharing.
Thanks!

Yup, you could definitely connect four of them that way.
