I was really hoping they would bring more of how the characters were written in the comics the show is based on, especially bringing Micheal into the season.
In the comics Lucifer and Michael have to defeat GOD(The Presence), but the characters are very different. Power levels on a much larger scale. And Lucifer not knowing his own abilities is a bit lazy, as one of his greatest talents in the comics is knowing how to counter the power of another, or to outsmart the master plan of even God itself.
I’ve enjoyed the show, but it really feels like retreading old ground in much of this season. I could’ve sworn Dan knew that Lucifer was at least supernatural, if not believing he was the actual Devil. Guess he is Detective Doofus, as the meta episode labeled him. I loved half the episodes and the other half couldn’t been better.
I know the show isn’t meant to be them dealing with cosmic threats, but this is what gets God’s attention after not speaking to them for so long?
It’s a fun show, I just wish I could forget the superior writing of the comics when watching it. 😄
This season ain’t even over. They have a 2nd 8 part episode dropping. This was season 5 a. Season 5b is still to come the full season is 16 episodes.

Is it just me or did Lucifer get much nicer to Detective Douche in Season 5? And literally, nobody can say that Dan's a bad person for how he reacts when he saw Lucifer's face. With everything that happened with Charlotte, it was a HUGE revelation! And by the way, Chloe reacted the exact same way but her's was more calculating. No hate on those two characters though. Lucifer, Chloe and Daniel are my favourite characters on the show

I think he even is in good terms with god. In past seasons he would say "dad" or "father" with a resentful tone but this season he's been saying it sweeter.

Yalllll Michaels plan worked. His plan was to bring God. Think about it they said that Michael got a chance to sit on the right side of God in heaven so in Michaels mind he thinks that God is going to be on his side because of how close they are. And thats why he promised maze a soul because God is the only one who can give it to her and Michael thought that by bringing God, God would have been on his side in destroying lucifer and since maze helped she would get rewarded with a Soul
I read this and now my theory is that maybe since god is on earth micheal will take his chance to perhaps take over the throne cause as you said he was god right hand so maybe he thinks that since hes the one whos in power now that he can give maze a soul
Possibly, but he seemed just as surprised as the others when he showed up. If Michael knew god at all then there would of been no way at all to know that he would show his face on Earth. God's literally never showed up on Earth before so if his plan relied on it then he was going all in with every chip he had betting on that.

Why are people still friends with Maze? She backstabs Lucifer, backstabs Amenadiel, corrupts Dan, is extremely selfish to Linda, and she is constantly teaming up with the antagonists (first Amenadiel, then Pierce, now Michael)

Anyone notice that every 2 seasons maze is always against Lucifer and teams up with the villains. First in season 1 with Amenadiel teaming up with him to send him to hell. Then season 3 with Cain teaming up with him to ruin his life on earth and then in season 5 with Michael trying to kill Lucifer because she wants a soul

That's my one problem seems like they don't know what to do with Maze
Well she is most easy to use and manipulate. First of all let's be honest she has major daddy and mommy issues. She somehow found a father figure in Lucifer and she is emotionally fragile around him, every little thing that comes out insensitive of Lucifer's mouth (he doesn't pay attention and is blunt) hurts her to the core. She sees all of them happy or at least have some paths that makes them fulfilled and she just can't manage to keep any bonds. She is starved for bond and meaningful connections. Her problem is that her issues run deep and as soon as people she is emotionally attached to someone and they can't be around or with her, she feels lonely, betrayed and left out. In last season she thinks that all could be solved with getting a "sole" and that if she had a sole maybe they wouldn't keep leaving her. But she still had a big character development but unfortunately she is still weak emotionally. In my opinion she and Lucifer have communication problems (and let's be honest even though we know Lucifer cares for her he puts his priorities first every time and sometimes it even affects his romantic relationship with Chloe, because of it he never thinks of upgrading his communication with Maze and I don't remember them talking out their problems until it comes to aphex because once again Lucifer doesn't notice those problems). So I don't think she is that bad, I can't hate her, because I feel sorry for her. Lucifer means a lot to her, he once had a biggest role in her life and she was his right hand, but Lucifer started to change and she was afraid that once he changes she will be abandoned once again.
Maze is looking for a soul...she wants one...keeps asking if any of the Celestials ever heard of a demon with a soul..Yes, I binge-watched all 8 episodes of Season 5...and can't wait for Season 6.

Tom Ellis has done a magnificent job this season. Michael and Lucifer seem to be entirely different from each other, it even feels sometimes as if Michael is being played by some other actor entirely, thats how good his portrayal is

Ive got a feeling that maze already has a soul and so does all the other demons i think they just don’t know they have one because how they were raised. The demons were raised to be soulless so they could do their job but i think maze on recently tapped into her soul on her stay on earth as shes forced to deal with things that use her soul like love, jealousy,longing and etc.

*conspiracy theory:*
So... we all know hell froze over by now. And even before season 5a dropped I heard a lot of people talk about a potential Deckerstar baby. I didn't believe them at first but I think season 5a honestly did some foreshadowing.
1) Lucifer drank out of Dan's cup twice this season. Dan told him it was his but Lucifer didn't really care and the words #1 DAD were big written on it.
2) Lucifer finally interacted with Charlie and baby charlie even calmed down by seeing him. This doesn't have a lot to do with my theory but still, it's cute as heck and might be foreshadowing on Lucifer's dad material?
3) Obviously, Chloe and Lucifer did it in episode 6 and episode 7 was called 'our mojo'. Chloe got his mojo and there was no real explanation for it since she's not really supernatural. Linda said it might be because lucifer gave something from HIM to HER during it and honestly this kind of sounds like not just something if you know what I mean lmao. (Maybe it's somehow like in 'the originals' where Hailey turned into a Hybrid later because the daughter inside of her had vampire blood YK)
4) Also, Chloe is a gift from God to lucifer. Maybe he planned more for them than just a normal relationship since Lucifer obviously still fights with daddy issues and probably wants to do it better.
5) and last but not least... I don't think God came down to earth JUST because Michael and Lucifer were fighting. Lucifer literally killed Uriel and Amanediel wanted to fight Lucifer back in season 1 and he DIDN'T show up. Why would it be that important by now?
plus the writer said the deckerstar ending will be perfect and includes a perfect ending for a love story. And we all know the cliche of the perfect ending? boom, family.

It seemed to me like a dad telling his child a bedtime story PLUS he spent time with Chloe‘s daughter....family time! 🤗 At least all of that works out in my head 😂

I think maze needs the ring to get a soul so her not getting it and by extension a soul would mean no pay off. Lucifer was about to say I love you and the way he was acting it didn’t seem as if he was avoiding it but rather didn’t think about it. He probably became invulnerable again because he realized being vulnerable meant he couldn’t protect Chloe when he was paralyzed. So him being invulnerable is him trying to protect her. Honestly tell me that doesn’t make sense.
Well he isn't doing it on purpose, he's always dumbfounded by his powers coming and going and then when they do he barely wants to think about the reason why
Simolooo Komarnitsky he’s an angel angels self actualize. Him losing his power is because he subconsciously gave it to Chloe when continuing their relationship. Him becoming invulnerable and having his power would be because he no longer wants to be vulnerable around Chloe because it means he can’t protect her (he came to this conclusion when he was paralyzed) and he’s afraid of losing her. It’s still all subconscious. It also plays into the theme of fear with Michael.
After years of seeing good shows get cancelled, im really happy that Lucifer not only wasn't cancelled, but was extended. The writing is so much better since moving to Netflix, can't wait for part 2!

A few things: 1) good video I liked it a lot. 2) I think the reason Lucifer is now invulnerable in the presence of Chloe is because he IS emotionally vulnerable. He used to be physically vulnerable but now he is emotionally vulnerable. His vulnerability simply changed to a different type. 3) His mojo. I may have missed something here but it looked like Chloe could use it on him but not someone else AND he could not use it in her presence but when she was not around he could. Any thoughts?
About the second point, I think he is pushing her away subconsciously. I mean, of course he does love and care about her, but when she said that he choose to be vulnerable(i can't remember the episode, but it's not a big deal this) kinda make him realize that and being afraid of it.

I think amenadeil said the nuns were reacting to him because they could feel God's presence in him. He also equated that was the reason for the reaction to lucifers ability to draw out desires. Not because of his mojo, but people chose to reveal their desire because theytoo sensed god in lucifer. I guess god might have made lucifer vunerable to enable him to feel and fall in love. Maybe he made him invunerable after lucifer had found love. If you remember the first episode when chloe was shot by Jimmy Barnes, lucifer was shot 6 times while attending to the injured chloe, but he didnt die. It was only later that his vulnerability kicked in.

So for thousands of years Lucifer thought he was the evil one when it was actually his manipulative brother. The story, IMHO, is all about sacrifice & redemption & the lengths that our Father (parents/lover) will go to save us. Biblically, God sacrifices his son Jesus to save us from our sins. In this series, the parable is that God realizes that he's sacrificed the wrong son (one of many of his children) & puts the plan of Chloe's existence into motion to redeem Lucifer & for Lucifer to be forgiven for the "sins" he was blamed for. Remember how time works for the celestials. It's taken decades for the plan to come to fruition.
The writers have said that by evil shall be released they mean evil being released FROM the devil (a good thing).
I had the same thought and came to give the suggestion. Lucifer is probably not ready to let go of something he has held on to for so long.
I have a theory about Lucifer being invulnerable in front of Chloe: this season focused on romantic relationships between Ella & Pete, as well as between Lucifer & Chloe. In one episode, Ella tells Chloe how Pete empowers her. So it is possible that that’s exactly what has happened with Lucifer-meaning, Chloe’s love empowered him, which makes him stronger/invulnerable even when he is with Chloe. I mean, in the end, Lucifer became his best version of himself when he worked like a ‘detective’ to find Chloe. Usually, he is immature but Chloe’s love has changed him, and he has become a better person.
But when Charlie dies won’t he go in heaven and be with amenadiel and Linda. And why isn’t Michael the lord of hell?
I thought about that to (Michael) but then given how he's a manipulative and a liar maybe "god" doesn't fully trusted him looking/punishing the souls of the dead. Maybe God knows that he can't be trusted if he's just on his OWN. I know it contradicts what Amenadiel told Lucifer when he said Michael managed to be the "right hand" but what if it's just a test on how reliable Michael can be?

For everyone against Maze:
Well she is most easy to use and manipulate. First of all let's be honest she has major daddy and mommy issues. She somehow found a father figure in Lucifer and she is emotionally fragile around him, every little thing that comes out insensitive of Lucifer's mouth (he doesn't pay attention and is blunt) hurts her to the core. She sees all of them happy or at least have some paths that makes them fulfilled and she just can't manage to keep any bonds. She is starved for bond and meaningful connections. Her problem is that her issues run deep and as soon as people she is emotionally attached to someone and they can't be around or with her, she feels lonely, betrayed and left out. In last season she thinks that all could be solved with getting a "sole" and that if she had a sole maybe they wouldn't keep leaving her. But she still had a big character development but unfortunately she is still weak emotionally. In my opinion she and Lucifer have communication problems (and let's be honest even though we know Lucifer cares for her he puts his priorities first every time and sometimes it even affects his romantic relationship with Chloe, because of it he never thinks of upgrading his communication with Maze and I don't remember them talking out their problems until it comes to aphex because once again Lucifer doesn't notice those problems). So I don't think she is that bad, I can't hate her, because I feel sorry for her. Lucifer means a lot to her, he once had a biggest role in her life and she was his right hand, but Lucifer started to change and she was afraid that once he changes she will be abandoned once again.

She was in hell since she was a little demon and grew up alongside him and picked up some of his trades along the way as her own. She was also one his closest friends in hell (maybe even only?), because of that she had time to learn almost everything about him and understood him well, but once he started meeting with Chloe and her detective work she felt left out and started feeling replaced and thought maybe one day she will be abandoned, which actually happened. He went back without her. Even if she could find other ways to go back to hell, she didn't because she felt like he doesn't need her anymore, he forgot and abandoned her.
Lucifer sees hell as his punishment and being in Los Angeles opposite, maybe he didn't want to bring her back because he thinks she would be better there, remember he said to her mother that she was a friend and not only part of strong army as such you don't bring your friend back to his punishment if she has nice life on Earth . Once again because of their poor communication they hurt each other.

It’s interesting that throughout the whole series we’ve been hearing the phrases “god works in mysterious ways” and “it’s all part of gods plan” now I know we don’t know a lot about god yet but I’m sure he’s not a fool, while we don’t know what Michael’s big plan is we can probably assume a part of it involves overthrowing god. Now last time an angel (Lucifer) tried to overthrow god he was cast down to rule over hell, and how convenient that currently hell doesn’t have a ruler, if you recall Amenadiel said that god told him hell didn’t need a ruler anymore. I’m thinking god probably knows Michael planted the idea of lucifers rebellion and is trying to overthrow him again and is planning to cast Michael down to hell and redeem Lucifer, why else would he have sent chloe to make Lucifer a better person and why would the imagery between Michael and Lucifer be so contradicting? every time they have a scene together Lucifer is always wearing white while Michael is always wearing black (this goes without even mentioning their wings) and the whole scene with Amenadiel and the angel and devil over his shoulders. As for the description of the last episode, “the final fight with dad” it implies our characters will fight god but what if it’s the other way around and it actually means the last fight WITH dad, as in they are fighting alongside him against a second rebellion by Michael

I thought Luci's ring has one dose of immortality. That Lilith poured her immortality into the ring so she could age.
A good plot twist would be Amenadeil wanting it for Charlie because he is now afraid of his son aging and dying/catching a disease. And Luci playing with the idea of giving the immortality to Chloe so he has his soulmate forever. Bonus points if kidnapped again she can't be killed.
Like I said before the ring has only one dose for one being. Plus the way Maze was eyeing the ring I think Michael told her that's the way to get a soul. But I think that is a lie, to get the three of them in a all out war. Each wanting it for their own, while Michael sits back and enjoys the chaos.

What I mean is that in Season 4, Kinley shows a photo of Lucifer in Nazi Germany and other horrific places. But what if that was Michael.
In the Season 5 mid-season finale when you have Ammenadiel not sure of what to do, you have Lucifer being the Angel on his shoulders and Michael being the Devil.
Plus Michael is more negative and feeds of negative emotions like fear, which is what we often think of the Devil of doing.
He seems to act more like the Devil we think of and because he’s Lucifer’s twin, what if he is the one that caused trouble as what humans perceive the Devil to be to ruin Lucifer’s life?

Y'know, Ella had so many amazing moments this season. Though I think my favorite is when she and Lucifer are at Chloe's house and she for a short moment just completely breaks down.
Even with the situation in mind, this happened so unexpectedly that I got like instantly choked up by it.
