@MK Plug even if every car was forced by law to have dashcams front and back it'll still require the police to take positive action on the footage of bad drivers...unfortunately for us sensible road users only 3 or 4 police forces are pro-active in using the evidence. example Notts police are only interested in dangerous driving and define no MOT and RLJ as non dangerous (IMO meaning until they cause injury/death) It's about time for the government to force all police forces to act but they seem to be too busy with their own infighting and power (never mind BREXIT)
Have dash cams in instructors cars, cameras at traffic lights and more traffic wardens. The revenue it would bring in would soon pay for them. And more police checking points, almost sure some haven't a driving license or haven't paid their fines.
Are people in that much of a rush to get to Tesco buy their shitty milk, get back to their shitty house to complain about learners.... Forgetting they we're once learner
I remember on one of my lessons somebody had a last minute lane change from turning right to going straight on and I managed to react with the brakes faster then the instructor. Although riding a motorbike on a CBT and cycling for many years I've learned to be ready for anything. One of my worst experiences on a bicycle was when I was passing a cross roads a driver to my left for some reason decided put his foot flat to the floor just as I got in front of him (probably looking right but not forward). I only just managed to swerve out the way.
True, but there was still plenty of bad drivers.. My grandad never had a licence yet still used to drive around and obviously his driving was terrible.. He was pulled by the police twice in the 80s and they didnt really care back then, only after the fourth time did they tell him if they catch him again he would be sent to prison.. I think people like to where rose tinted glasses sometimes... The past was just as bad as now if not worse, its all a lot stricter these days wich is a good thing I reckon

In my area tends to seem like most of the dangerous incidents happen by van drivers during the day and cars during night time trying to be racers. I'm impressed how much happens in your area. I like to think if these people can pass a driving test just about anyone can as words of encouragement to learners.
The learner at 10:55 did a really good job. Many drivers would have slammed on attempting to stop in that small space. The right decision was to switch lanes, but what if someone was in that lane?
I'm new driver , I get some ppl sound the horn for no reason :( even they are wrong lane and tried to change lane in last minute with no indicated or when traffic lights from red to ember and I'm about to start move but but not Quick enough for them :(

Is it possible to make a video about road speed limits, how to identify the speed ( minimum and maximum) limits . We would really appreciate. Many thanks .
When I passed my test and got my first car I didn't bother putting the green P plate on. I knew that people would be an arse towards me. Had no problems. To prove that it was the P plates, I bought some 6 months after driving and guess what..? haha Never had so many problems with other road users when I had my P plates on..
A lot of people see a speed limit sign ahead which is an increase in limit and then speed up when they see it, not when they reach it. I am wondering if this is the technique people in these videos use at traffic lights. They see the light ahead is green, as others drive through it changes but they never look at the red light.
Great video, but why does everyone turn into the left lane? In Finland, you turn left into the left lane and right into the right lane, unless you're making another turn very shortly afterward, then you can turn into the 'wrong' lane.
Hi Ashley is it a Yaris you use for for your learner car- please can you let me know if you think it's a good motorway car? I want something small but safe on bigger roads thanks
I love my Yaris. It’s great for all types of driving but probably less so for Motorway driving. That’s only as it’s a hybrid though which is more suitable for town driving. A different engine would be a different story. In my opinion the Toyota’s are good reliable cars 👍 Ashley
I learnt to drive and passed my test in an area with relatively easy roads. half of the time when you pull up to a junction with traffic lights I've never seen anything like it! If I was forced to drive in the area you take your pupils through I wouldn't be able to do it even as a full license holder. Wow.
I'm guessing your in the Liverpool / Mersey side area . are these clips from one week or over several weeks ? If its only a week then the driving standards there are shockingly bad .
A mixture between the clip at 3:46 and the one before it happened to me, 2 days into driving on my own 😲 Guy pulled out and accelerated hard, as the road was merging, with cars coming the other way. They were stuck at the same red light as me round the corner too 😂
The laughable thing is that Red doesn't mean Stop, Amber means Stop(if safe to do so), Red means wait at the Line. I believe that we need a proper shake up of the driving licence. People should be tested on the Highway Code and Hazard awareness every ten years. Fail it twice in a set period and your licence is cancelled and you need to sit and pass a full extended test. Too many people think they know the highway code, when they have not a clue, and their driving abilities are reflected in this.
Here here! But red does mean stop! Amber means get ready to either stop or go depending on if it's flashing or solid! Ie after a green or before a red!
The highway code is very clear. Amber does not mean Get ready to stop, or get ready to go. "AMBER means ‘Stop’ at the stop line. You may go on only if the AMBER appears after you have crossed the stop line or are so close to it that to pull up might cause an accident". The only place you will find a flashing Amber light is on a pedestrian crossing, and that means Go, only if there are no pedestrians on the crossing. www.gov.uk/guidance/the-highway-code/light-signals-controlling-traffic

That crossing isn't exactly clear, it could easily be mistaken as being lights for the traffic to the left on that junction. If they are going to out a crossing that close to a junction like that they should integrate it with the junction.
It's very clear tbh. If there are lights positioned opposite each other on both sides of the road then it's a separate crossing, which must be obeyed if they are on red. It is still integrated within the combined crossing of the junction, or in other words it will only change when traffic is flowing from the direction shown in the video. If it was the traffic lights and no crossing area at the junction there would only been single lights instead of one on either side. I hope that helps? Thanks for watching, and your comment. Ashley

how long has it been optional to stop at RED traffic lights, best way to deal with this problem has to be , when your car goes for MOT they retest everybody for driving, just a test like they do in schools every year, if you get lower marks you would then have to take refresher lessons and retake driving test, you should get better as you drive more but sadly most people pass the test and then completely ignore all the laws of the road,
Was that your car at 3:30... if so, if seen enough of your videos, to know just slow up, let the car in, no need for the use of the horn... don't make their mistake your problem, don't unnecessary cause an issue
It's a pity pedestrians don't have registration plates - that way the woman who stepped out onto the road with her kid could be shown up. I can't believe that she did that. I'm even conscious of other people's kids when I'm crossing the road so that I don't show them bad habits, and she can't be bothered teaching her little one how to cross safely.
It would be great if the police were able to issue tickets after watching these videos. The only reason they can not is because there is no way to tell if a ticket has already been issued, but it would make a lot more drivers obey the rules knowing there are more and more dash cam channels popping up on TH-cam :)
Do some people have the idea that driving school vehicles have to follow a more stringent set of traffic laws than everyone else or do they think that because they have passed their test they have the right to break the traffic laws in a way that learner drivers can't. Maybe they are somehow more important than learner drivers? It's quite baffling.

Even if drivers are color blind it is no excuse to act this idiotic. There is a reason all traffic lights has red on top and green on bottom.
i see the problem ...everyone is on wrong side of road
Just let it go ... most people in them premium cars just forget how to behave civilized. MOST. I've seen Audis and BMWs use proper indication, yield and measure situations wisely - probably they were left to pay their own bills. The rest ... meh .. bills are paid by someone else / a company .. they do not really care. Drop the transmission into 'D' or 'S' and just punch it. As they are entitled to do. All others in their own cars; find a tree that is sympathetic, go hug it with your scrap.
Poor joke of the year award... 🤦
Blame it on lack of traffic cops.
hmm
Did you really sound your horn when the white SPV pulled in front of you to turn left?
Don't you have any police or cameras where you live..Seems to me your local authority is missing out on a lot of fines to boost their finances.
Or are you paying drivers to frighten the hell out of learners there?
Yes about the horn. No to the Police. Lack of resources means the lawlessness is getting worse.
@@ashley_neal Have you read the highway code as to the purpose of a horn?
After all it was you that complained about a Taxi using his.horn whilst your client was leaving a roundabout.
Not just dual control but dual standards.
Plenty of humour there Ash.... not to mention the cretins portrayed here.
⭐ of the clip - agree. Without any disrespect to your pupil (a couple of clips later) the sunbed shop patron is another one of these "Karen" types that are spawning worldwide.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
