Lord deliver me from my anxieties, loneliness, troubles, and pain this Christmas. As a single mom it can be hard to have everything on your shoulders. Both of my sons are autistic. I’m raising them with strength and courage, despite the challenges I face. I keep faith in you Lord even as I struggle to pay rent every month, and as I struggle to buy groceries. Every month is a battle. Lord restore my health living with heart disease and lupus has been difficult on me. Jesus please help me to find strength when I am weak, hope when I am struggling, and peace in the midst of chaos. Amen. 🙏🏾
May science help you by providing you with the medication you need to improve your health, and may your family and friends also help you emotionally and financially.

I was born in late 1960. Raised as a Catholic, schooled to year 10 in Catholic schools and had beliefs rammed into me through out. I ran as soon as I could. Lately I have been revisiting my old religion and have found o better. Christianity appeals to me but the Catholic thing is stopping me from looking elsewhere for answers.

I was the same way except I spent a year reading the Bible before I set foot in a Church. I eventually went to an Easter Mass, took communion and couldn't get past the sense that I wouldn't be able to get to God without the vast sea of middle management standing in the way telling me which way to go and how to interpret the Bible. Ask God for wisdom and pray for the Holy Spirit to teach you, guide you and give you discernment. People make mistakes but not all take seriously the warning given for teaching falsely. Case in point: The present "Vicar of Christ" is a son of the devil just like many of his predecessors. My opinion is the teachings of R. C. Sproul are wealth of doctrinal gold. You would do well to tap into them.
so many people I know are quick to point to the flaws of Christianity, as is their right, IMHO however, I wonder if they also recognise that Christianity is the foundation of worthy principles that perhaps we take for granted… freedom, justice, respect and compassion for others, forgiveness, grace, redemption etc etc etc?
"Christianity is the foundation of worthy principles that perhaps we take for granted… freedom, justice, respect and compassion for others, forgiveness, grace, redemption etc etc etc?" Religions like Buddhism existed long before Christianity, and such religions were concerned with all those things you mentioned. So it is a lie that Christianity is the foundation of those things. A dark and evil lie.
When people adopt faith as their source of knowledge, they abandon reason. Isn't it strange that when they try to convince others, they always appeal to that which they have abandoned to do it. Faith and reason cannot be reconciled.
A cosmos that is accidental should not be reasonable. I would argue that without faith, one has no reason (!) to believe that the world can and should be comprehended. After all, why should the accidental cosmos be capable of being analyzed and made sense of by the accidental human mind?
@@stefanwalicord "A cosmos that is accidental should not be reasonable." The cosmos is not "accidental". It follows very strict laws of cause and effect. One thing follows another. Certain conditions lead to certain results. That's the way the world works. It may not have a mind that has a purpose, in the way that we do, but it has very strict laws. It has a direction. The "accidental cosmos" is a fantasy, made up , as far as I can tell, by Christians. Nobody else believes in it.
Christ said : 'I am the Way, the Truth and the LIFE' for a Reason . He gave us a direct line to the Creator that was lost from our sinful nature. It allows one to become ONE and from that source of Pure Love and Bestowel... We also Learn to share that part of us with others. It is NOT an EZ road by any stretch for the World is about take and selfish. But when an individual is transformed into Spirit principals based on the foundation of Love... It changes a Person into a Vessel of Joy. 'Joy, is found in the LORD' and gives one a higher purpose beyond mere carnal desires or attractions that tend to distract us from our true purpose. That purpose is to represent the Best of Who we are in the Greatest possible Light we obtain within. The "Gift" 🎁 is the Holy Spirit that guides and directs us as we go through Life. Christ Conscience has the Gift. With it, the meanings (oft hidden) become clear to us over time because our carnal thoughts are NOT the Creators thoughts for we are on a temporal plain of existence(lineal). Now, what is considered Bad or Evil are merely forms of transission or correction that have a purpose not yet revealed to the individual.
I would encourage people to read Tom Holland's book, Dominion, where he argues that Christianity is the bedrock upon which Western civilization was built!
"How does purposeless forces create minds with purpose?" Cause and effect. It's not difficult to understand. "It's not logical", she says, but she doesn't explain how it's not logical. Cause and effect is logical. How is cause and effect not logical? Or what is the reason that cause and effect cannot create minds that have purpose? She is claiming to know things that she can't possibly know. Extreme arrogance. It's a shame that Christianity is now identified as the extreme of arrogance and make-believe.
Haha well now isn’t this interesting 😂 So ‘because we have minds, the first thing that created us must have a mind’ So what about trees? Can we say ‘well the first thing that created a tree must have had a branch, and a trunk, and leaves’ What about rocks? Was it rocks creating rocks? Talk about illogical..
Not only that, but the Tree that created all the other trees can have only been created by yet another Tree, in an endless precession of Trees. The whole thing is completely ridiculous.
The aspects of Christianity that are logical are the Judaic Hebrew aspects found in the Hebrew Scriptures. Christianity itself is problematic such as the idea of anyone who does not hear nor believe in the specific story of Jesus dying and rising from the dead burn in fire for all eternity despite how moral their lives were. Whereas the Hebrew Scriptures present God as being a father of all people and judges them by their deeds and allows for the afterlife to be more of a mystery. After all, the afterlife is in fact a mystery.
Great comment. I often hear Christians say that without Jesus we are all lost. It's extremely sad that they are unable to see wisdom in the old Testament, or in any other religion, such as Buddhism. It means they cannot see wisdom at all. Completely blind.
Religion is forced to assume the premise of intelligent design. Can religion exist without a god? Religion does not answer fundamental questions regarding the Universe. In fact, the answers provided by revelations within religion are off by six (6) orders of magnitude.

A lack of meaning an purpose is the very reason young people today are so lost.

Friend, are you making a statement or asking a question?
Simple and difficult answer: read the Bible. Keep seeking and asking.
