Hey everybody! After reading a lot of these comments, I’ve thought a little bit more about how AI art can negatively impact both artists and those who want to absorb quality art. Though I maintain that there is a time and place to use AI generated art, I agree that it does not hold up in quality to so many other awesome projects we’ve talked about here. In the future, it’ll take an exceptional reason for me to cover this type of thing again, and as always, I appreciate hearing everyone’s thoughts! SB

And don’t even think about slapping me with a “pro AI” label or some shit. _I am an artist._ I take commissions, and that’s a substantial amount of my income right now. There’s a time and place for everything, but this isn’t it. How about instead of bitching in a smaller creator’s comment section, you go make a video educating people on AI art, how it can harm artists, and how you can help create _actual_ change.
For the record SB, of what content you’ve made so far, I really enjoy it. Despite the bumps in the road, I hope you continue to create content that speaks to you, and you are able to adapt as you go. This project was entertaining and visually appealing, thought it definitely doesn’t compare to hitting metal lol. I would avoid this lower standard of subject material in the future, there’s a lot of cool stuff out there to be explored that hasn’t had a spotlight shone on it yet, and probably some hidden gems too. the story sounds fun, but I'm afraid that if they used ai for the images then what's stopping them from making the story with a chat bot? There's also the fact that since it's ai images, then nothing in the background is worth looking at, nothing is worth analyzing. Everything is surface level.

Your content is great, and it’s introduced me to so many lesser known horror creators, so pls continue to use your channel to highlight ACTUAL artists and creators, not ppl who use a software that hinders creativity and genuine art :/

Art has never been a closed or gatekeeped practice, and there’s nothing stopping the creator from putting in the effort and time to create something good, and more importantly, ORIGINAL

Ah yes, because this creator had the financial stability to pay an artist to draw over a hundred images with the exact characteristics of AI art that the series is specifically designed around. This series would be 100% better if I redrew all of it in Microsoft Paint and let an infant rewrite the script.
Aside from the brainless AI hateboner people have there is a fundamental problem regarding regarding AI Art. If you are trying to analyze the world you don't know if a specific thing was intended or it was just randomly appearing from the AI generation. If you see a bunch of satanic symbols you might try to give it meaning but it never was intended to have any meaning to begin with. It also takes a lot of possible fun out of it as you don't know what was intended by the artist, and what was just background noise. There are arists that are able to fix that I have seen AI image comics that have then been heavily edited to fit the comic. But that is mostly not the case, so thats something artists have to adapt to over time and the technology has to improve so less noise is being generated. The more detail is being generated the worse the problem becomes, but that's just a problem of the new technology which people habe to adapt go. Another problem is that if at any point people think that AI is being used people just completely ignore whatever was made and get Anti AI political which then dominates the discussions and whatever was made with it gets completely forgotten. But that will stop as people will get used to it just like people complaining about Photography not being art, etc. Thanks for the Video
This project really reminds me of scp 093 the unclean for some reason and I can’t explain why, the thing that really gets me is that things seem kinda normal at first glace but when you focus everything is very off as if an AI has created the image without having a clear idea of what it’s creating without any base data
While this ai stuff is crap, it can be used well. This just isn’t it. Also, using ai images doesn’t immediately mean ai script. A lot of people are better at writing than drawing and I wouldn’t be surprised if cost for cohesive commissions were prohibitive. (A lack of ability to draw doesn’t mean a lack of creativity and ai can provide an outlet for people like this.) In my opinion, as long as they aren’t making money from the ai images, then it should be fine that they use them. The story is creative, and, in my opinion, was likely human written, even if it is kind of a baseline plot. Honestly, I just want to encourage as much creativity as possible, and if writing prompts is how you do it, just don’t try to make a profit from that. Ai should not be for monetary gain, just for creative use. It’s absolutely shite that it is used to make money. That should never have been the intended use in my opinion.

This is clearly someone’s personal project that they wanted to share, and I don’t they are wrong in doing that. For example, I made an illustrated lyric video to a song I enjoy, that technically falls under stealing, but it’s still a form of artistic expression, and I believe that writing, photography, and music are just as much art as illustration and animation. Ai is absolutely a grey area in ethics, and I won’t personally use it, but I’m not going to attack others for doing so, as we just don’t know why they are using it. I’m also confused about why you don’t think monetary impact has anything to do with this. My main issue with AI is the theft of business from actual artists more than the use of art in general. (Even though I personally believe that, with proper credit, art should be inherently public, I do not think that money should be made off of another person’s work. That’s just scummy behavior.) I’m sorry if we just have to agree to disagree here, but I think after this, I’m done discussing this topic. I have, hopefully, made my views clear enough to not need to return. As for your illustrated lyric video, that'd fall under transformative as you're adding something creative and your own to it, right? You aren't stealing. And there's also a difference between "stealing" from, say, a big name music artist(s) like Taylor swift and say, a smaller one like The Crane Wives If you wanna argue that people using other people's works in theirs without permission, sure that's an argument to be had in which case I'd be against it and do encourage calling it out if said art/music/etc is uncredited. I do believe that an animatic over a song is transformative, but the song should still be credited! Reaction channels are also super guilty of not crediting. For example, I enjoy the reaction channel Skittensays, but I do often point out in the comments how she does not link to the og creator in her description! Art should absolutely not be entirely public, at least not in this current economic system where artists rely on their works and the attention the works get in order to spread their works and potentially make money. I actually really tried to watch this whole video and I even checked out some videos on my own and I just cannot see what you see about this series its hard for me to even get immersed in the story cause it all just feels so fake and artificial lacking 0 personality or detail, even you said that because its AI generated you wont be able to see detail in the background of the "art". all it is is a bunch of ai generated images and gifs and some ai voice making up random shit to create "lore"
Just something ive noticed with all these comments. People will say this isnt art and is uncreative while at the same time say that a video game is art, and its hipocritical. This isnt traditional art, and yes to make the images with AI is a lot easier than drawing it yourself, but if someone has a story but cant create the images what are they aupposed to do? Not even try? By the logic most people are using, video games and graphic design isn't art because it's not using paint and a brush and "takes less skill".

Great video. However, I do hope the creator finds either a partner or learns how to model/animate/draw. Using AI is just slop and it's a massive middle finger to people like Kayne Pixels who have to put in effort in their visuals. The series has potential, but I cannot in good faith reccomend this over something like the other big Analog Horror series on the platform right now.
You cant use ai "art" positively or tastefully. Any use of it allows it to develop and become more competent and inevitably indistinguishable from work people pour hours of their lives into. This aint it.

Love your content to death but this one ain't it chief The only time I've seen AI used justifiably in a horror series is in Dreams of an Insomniac, and that was only because Pastra felt it was morally better than using images of real kids. That's the ONLY time I've seen ai used in a good way that helps the story. Otherwise, best if you don't touch AI art/writing with a 10 ft pole

Well I considered subscribing to you after your video on the Striking Metal 17 times project, but if you still believe AI is art, then you're not worth watching. AI images aren't "Art," as there is no artist to give the picture an intent, and with how AIs have been trained, they're also blatant plagiarizers. You're a creative, you make videos. In my opinion, as long as they aren’t making money from the ai images, then it should be fine that they use them. The story is creative, and, in my opinion, was likely human written, even if it is kind of a baseline plot.
Honestly, I just want to encourage as much creativity as possible, and if writing prompts is how you do it, just don’t try to make a profit from that. Ai should not be for monetary gain, just for creative use. It’s absolutely shite that it is used to make money. That should never have been the intended use in my opinion.

This is clearly someone’s personal project that they wanted to share, and I don’t they are wrong in doing that.
For example, I made an illustrated lyric video to a song I enjoy, that technically falls under stealing, but it’s still a form of artistic expression, and I believe that writing, photography, and music are just as much art as illustration and animation.
Ai is absolutely a grey area in ethics, and I won’t personally use it, but I’m not going to attack others for doing so, as we just don’t know why they are using it.
I’m also confused about why you don’t think monetary impact has anything to do with this. My main issue with AI is the theft of business from actual artists more than the use of art in general.
(Even though I personally believe that, with proper credit, art should be inherently public, I do not think that money should be made off of another person’s work. That’s just scummy behavior.)
I’m sorry if we just have to agree to disagree here, but I think after this, I’m done discussing this topic. I have, hopefully, made my views clear enough to not need to return. Thank you for listening and screw capitalism, the bane of art.

As for your illustrated lyric video, that'd fall under transformative as you're adding something creative and your own to it, right? You aren't stealing. And there's also a difference between "stealing" from, say, a big name music artist(s) like Taylor swift and say, a smaller one like The Crane Wives
If you wanna argue that people using other people's works in theirs without permission, sure that's an argument to be had in which case I'd be against it and do encourage calling it out if said art/music/etc is uncredited. I do believe that an animatic over a song is transformative, but the song should still be credited!
Reaction channels are also super guilty of not crediting.
For example, I enjoy the reaction channel Skittensays, but I do often point out in the comments how she does not link to the og creator in her description!
Art should absolutely not be entirely public, at least not in this current economic system where artists rely on their works and the attention the works get in order to spread their works and potentially make money.

I actually really tried to watch this whole video and I even checked out some videos on my own and I just cannot see what you see about this series its hard for me to even get immersed in the story cause it all just feels so fake and artificial lacking 0 personality or detail, even you said that because its AI generated you wont be able to see detail in the background of the "art". all it is is a bunch of ai generated images and gifs and some ai voice making up random shit to create "lore"
Just something ive noticed with all these comments. People will say this isnt art and is uncreative while at the same time say that a video game is art, and its hipocritical. This isnt traditional art, and yes to make the images with AI is a lot easier than drawing it yourself, but if someone has a story but cant create the images what are they aupposed to do? Not even try? By the logic most people are using, video games and graphic design isn't art because it's not using paint and a brush and "takes less skill".

Great video. However, I do hope the creator finds either a partner or learns how to model/animate/draw. Using AI is just slop and it's a massive middle finger to people like Kayne Pixels who have to put in effort in their visuals. The series has potential, but I cannot in good faith reccomend this over something like the other big Analog Horror series on the platform right now.
You cant use ai "art" positively or tastefully. Any use of it allows it to develop and become more competent and inevitably indistinguishable from work people pour hours of their lives into. This aint it.

The only time I've seen AI used justifiably in a horror series is in Dreams of an Insomniac, and that was only because Pastra felt it was morally better than using images of real kids. That's the ONLY time I've seen ai used in a good way that helps the story.
