You make it look so easy. Such inspiration. I love your process and its fun to see other's paint habits. I've been storing my palette in the freezer for decades! xoxo
It’s definitely not as easy as it may look!! Storing my palette in the fridge has been a new thing for me - and it’s so nice! I waste so much less paint now!
Wow! I can finally see your reference! (I've always wanted to see it XD) I have a question... how do you approach reproducing colors from a reference that is displayed on the screen? The screen lights up and the paints don't. When I paint from the screen, I always find it difficult to mix the colors accurately to match what I see on the screen. I hope you know what I mean.😅 As for textures, I recently discovered an interesting technique. I painted the first layer in grisaille and didn't skimp on the paint. This created a subtle texture. I applied the next layer in color in a similar way. Only the final layer was applied in such a way as to smooth out all the color transitions. The result was a smooth painting with texture! I think this has revolutionized my view of painting.🤔 Have a great day! Glad to get a behind the scenes look at the trial of my favourite painter.😍
That’s a great question! The way I work around that is by not trying to match the colors I see on the screen, but rather match the *relationship* of the colors and values. So that’s why I always start with the hair (the darkest area usually) and that way I can compare my other values as I paint to the hair! The more things I have down the more relationships I have to judge from. It takes a lot of practice to think this way, but it’s very useful when working from a screen (and from life too!) I hope that makes sense. As far as texture goes, that’s pretty much the OG way to do it! I really should try that method one day :) Thank you so much for watching & leaving such a kind comment!!
@@tinafigartist Ooo yes, that makes sense! I see the point! I'm going to try to look at it this way and start with the darkest value. Thank you! And you're welcome!
Thank you!! I got it on Amazon a few years ago, but I tried searching again and it doesn’t seem to pop up. If you google “artist reduction glass” there are some options!
This is an excellent video! Please add more videos on mixing skin tones and painting eyes.
I will keep this in mind! :) 💗
YES, Certainly be interesting to see your spin on colour mixing for skin tones, please! 😊
Noted!! I’ll add this to my list of future videos :)

Wow, thank you! & hello to you all the way down under!
8:22 Thé softness of pour paintings is incredibly touching and all your own, it is beautifully accentuated by your so subtle mark making...chapeau.

Your hands are very beautiful❤
Where’d you get your shirt from? Awesome painting
Thanks! if you mean the strapless striped one, it’s from Forever 21 from a few years ago! :)

@@emprisdurdenI thrifted it, the tag is Cotton Emporium!
May I ask what software you use to tile your drawing for transfer to your canvas? I’ve tried a couple and can’t seem to find one I like!
I use a website for teachers to make posters on! It’s gizmoa.com. The best option I’ve found!
what is your palette on? i can’t quite figure out what’s keeping it up
It’s just a metal easel! I believe it’s from Jerry’s Artarama. I have it clamped at the top for stability :)
Make more videos.
Maybe if you ask nicely
We thank you very much for making a long video of only skin color, the process of your paintings is wonderful!
