However, this is a great spot to find what you are looking for. And we as watchers can do some research from there. Thank you Jay, Phil and Nick for all that you do! Revo Hunter Mode is really nice. Like taking a dropper tool to pick a color from anywhere on your screen, hunter mode lets you click on a window, and Revo will figure out what program put that window there so you can then uninstall it. Nice for removing PUPs (potentially unwanted programs) that pop ads up in the corner of your screen and things like that.
Been using fan control after your very first review of it and i love it, even have it installed on all my pc's at home. and indeed got several profiles setup depending on the weather. summer is extra cooling winter is lower cooling and it works great
At around 17 minutes, when deleting the registry items, if there is ever a red item, deselect and reselect the tree after. Red means that entry is probably shared with another program. In settings you can set the program to AUTO SELECT ALL for faster management but you still should always look for those red entries and leave them just in case they are in fact shared with another program.
I’ve had my PC for almost 2 years now, never tested it or benchmarked it, never done any of this monitoring stuff besides task manager. It’s all been too overwhelming for me (even though it’s not that hard) but this video really helps, going to try and tackle this stuff tonight
Why do you have any issues that need checking? This video is a bit iffy, a title like "Free Programs that EVERY OC enthousiast should have!" would be more fitting as a bunch of those programs are much more for "OC + then testing things" than something useful to have all the time. I mean benching is pretty useless most of the time.
i much prefer HWinfo 64 to CPUID HW monitor, none of the false readings like 9ghz clocks that hwmonitor gives. hwinfo 64 is accurate AF. and you can incorporate it into RTSS overlay
18:10 Revo Uninstaller's hunter mode is great for identifying popups (or anything visual at all on screen) and their responsible programs. After enabling hunter mode, you just hover your curser over anything on the screen, and it'll tell you what program is responsible for it and where the files are located. I've helped a friend remove an invasive browser extension this way that he had no idea how to get rid of. Free version is 10/10.
The 2 pieces of software that are my absolute go to on systems are HWInfo64, because it does what Aida64 and CPUID HWMonitor do all in 1 solution, and WingetUI, which allows me to get a GUI for winget and also to quickly install a whole list of my used software on my PC, plus automate updates to the pieces of software I use less often.
Thank you for the recommendation for OCCT. I've had a stutter problem that happens every so often and have had the issue for years since I built this pc. I used other tests, but none found any issues, this one managed to fix the issue for me (undervolt was unstable). Much love!
Really good video jay, I had no idea about the registry files being left there after an uninstall, I'll definitely be using that uninstaller program. You help people and they get more users, this is a win win situation
Just be very cautious with what you delete. Sometimes REVO checks the removable box for removal of items that are shared with other programs and deleting that shared item may disable the other program.
@JayzTwoCents - This is a great video! 👍 I've just built my first PC and spent a multitude of hours trying to figure out how to control everything. Huge thanks man.
OCCT ftw - that helped diagnose a plethora of issues I was having with my system for a couple years and across OSes - constant instability, bluescreens and software crashes, even Linux wasn't installing properly. Using OCCT pinned it down to a faulty memory controller in the CPU. Once I got that replaced, it was smooth sailing!
My only regret is that I didn't find this channel 6 years ago when I bought my first PC (pre - built). Now I just built my gf a PC , me a new PC , and also my older brother a PC all within 2 weeks. So I was running into issues and really needed all this info plus other info on the channel. I want to thank u so fucking much for what you do!!!!! I have learned more in the last 2 weeks watching this channel then I have in the past 6 years of being a PC owner. Oh also it's awesome to hear iBuyPower is a great company for pre-built PCs and I can attest to that seeing that my PC is 6 years old and I have never had one hardware nor software issues ever!!! Only issue I ever had was overclocking my CPU to 5.0ghz (i7-8700k) and it didn't like it lol. Now I'm running a rtx4070ti super, i9-13900kf, and 32 gb of ddr5 ram. I was shocked at how much performance I was actually missing lol
OpenRGB is fantastic, been a 22 year Linux user and it works great, totally eliminated my need for a dual boot with Windows which I used for RGB control which carried over after a reboot into Linux.

Thank you for these types of videos. I've been away from the computer for some time (driving over the road for a very long time), and I'm now just getting back into it. Learning all over again. This was very helpful. Thanks for your "two cents"!
I love fancontrol just as you said, I have water cooled CPU and GPU but bios use just cpu temp. Thanks to fancontrol I can use peak temp of cpu gpu to control all fans
Hey Jay! You probably already know this but just in case! You can go into the settings of Revo and make it so that by default the system restore point is unticked and the leftovers are already ticked. It's nice to save those clicks every time you remove something!
Notepad++, Keypass, Treesize Pro and 7zip are always the first and have been for as long as I can remember. Even at work. Many years ago I had a Revo Pro license but no idea where it's gone. Awesome software though. Also Sysinternals. I've used then pretty much since they were introduced, and long before MS bought them out.
i gotta be honest, when i clicked the video i expected actual useful programs, these are diagnostic tools that 90% of us will never need or already know about dont get me wrong, its a good video and pretty useful for the people that build/repair pc's everyday, but its far from what i would consider every pc should have (like VLC or classic paint)
Jay you look great with so enthusiasm and energy. Happy that you finally found what was wrong and found a treatment for it. I prayed for you daily and my prayers have been answered!
Thank bro. This video helped me a lot. I sold my ps4 and bought me a gtx 1080 for my old 4th gen i5 pc. Most new and demanding games ran very bad - I got blue screen and random restarts often. I installed MSI after burner and I noticed my temps were very high on low settings. I cranked up my CPU and GPU fans and I'm able to game on high settings without any issues.
pronounce Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation i'll wait the content of the acronym does not matter, its pronunciation is determined first by how the acronym feels in the mouth and how the creator of the acronym says it's pronounced if it does not make an existing word in this case, though, Graphics Interchange Format shortens into the old english Gif, pronounced Yiff, which is the original spelling of "if" so realistically, the G should neither be hard nor soft, it should be silent
@@d3str0i3r Yeah exactly! Acronyms don't care about what the sound of the word that makes it, it's irrelevant to the pronunciation of the acronym; if it did matter than well known terms like LASER, AIDS, JPEG, and SCUBA wouldn't be pronounced by the standard that we do. GIF is just in a grey enough area that it can be pronounced both ways by what the speaker feels comfortable with. I personally have an accent that makes soft 'g' GIF more comfortable. People understand what I'm speaking about so it doesn't hinder communication, which is all that matters :) Plus, I don't want to have to pronounce SCUBA as 'scubba' 😬
The best argument to pronounce it with a soft G is because the creator of the format said that is the correct way to say it. I support the right of all inventors to name their invention.
these kinds of arguments never hold water, as there are several words that use soft g's as well, pronounce "George" or "giraffe" or "gym" for example. the inventor of the format specified a soft g, and on top of that it rolls off the tongue far easier that way too.

hey man, I really appreciate this video. some of these are already on my go-to application list. thanks for showing me the others! they really are the cures for a number of common nightmares that a lot of people probably gave up trying to solve long ago, writing them off as unfixable quirks.
No, Chris Titus is a con artist and a liar. "Debloating" Windows causes more harm than good and can actually destroy your Windows install. Just uninstall the things that came with Windows that you don't want (i.e: News, Weather, etc.) from Windows Settings / Add & Remove Programs in the Control Panel.
Ohh! The Revo Uninstaller! I used that before (probably 5 years ago). Thanks for reminding me. I'm happy to stumble up on your video. I also use CPUID Hardware on my laptop and CPUID on my android (to get the real hardware specs of my phone)
Most of the programs you mentioned are beyond anything I need. However, I've used Revo for many years. It's an awesome program. Another program I use to monitor temps as well as get a lot of info on my systems is Speccy. My main computer is an old ASUS M5A97 R2.0 running Win 7 so I don't need a lot monitored and I understand nothing about over clocking. However, it does monitor the temps of the CPU, Motherboard, hard drives and my video card which is an AMD HD 5450 and right now it's running about 44 C. Nothing on my system runs any hotter than 50 C. I know it's not some big gamer's computer but I'm not a gamer. I have a couple shoot em up games I like to play just not online. The system is dual boot and the second drive is strictly for those games. Another of the programs you mentioned was Fan CTRL. I used it for a year or so and then removed it. I couldn't figure it out so I got rid of it. I was able to control the fan for the processor but none of the others. I did check it out online but most youtubers use language that I just don't understand. They don't use layman's terms so I have , in most cases, no idea what they're talking about. I do find your videos very interesting and understandable and they get me thinking. I think that's important so I'll continue to watch your videos. Take care and be safe
It should be illegal for uninstallers to leave behind stuff. Uninstall = remove it all.
Or, at least, give options.
Actually some softwares do give the option of keeping or removing the log files during uninstallation.
That's how it is with Windows. use BCUninstaller to uninstall stuff and remove all remaining files and registry keys.

Thank you for putting this out there for the others :)
Great video! I love when this kind of information is shared in a tidy one stop place. I agree individual videos would be helpful to answer more specific questions. However, this is a great spot to find what you are looking for. And we as watchers can do some research from there. Thank you Jay, Phil and Nick for all that you do! Great source of information and entertainment!
I had no idea about that..
Been using Revo for years now, glad it's getting more love.
Do you get it from a website or the windows store?
I've used Fan Control since the day you did your first video on it. Great program, I've donated multiple times.
Yep, me too :-)
No actual hardware doing such fantastic job.
same. and I love it
i much prefer HWinfo 64 to CPUID HW monitor, none of the false readings like 9ghz clocks that hwmonitor gives. hwinfo 64 is accurate AF. and you can incorporate it into RTSS overlay
He clearly gets paid by them because no sane person would use hwmonitor over hwinfo
@@SweetJesus16 explain I haven't used either one. what are the differences between the too software's.
Free version is 10/10.
back in early 2000s, high end pc always came with a good dozen of expensive games and software included. good old days.
I still have my cd's of Command and Conquer which came with a Time Computers Pentium 90... around 1994. Remember Spock on the adverts?
The 2 pieces of software that are my absolute go to on systems are HWInfo64, because it does what Aida64 and CPUID HWMonitor do all in 1 solution, and WingetUI, which allows me to get a GUI for winget and also to quickly install a whole list of my used software on my PC, plus automate updates to the pieces of software I use less often.
Aida64 memory benchmarking is good.
HWInfo64 has a paywall.
@@edwald4056 All versions are free to use in personal and non-commercial environments.
Hwinfo is clutch. I enjoyed the free version so much I have the pro version now
Started using Fan Control after the controller on my older PC stopped working. Solid program that just works, highly recommend
* video starts at 1:11 *
Just watch the ad, it's entertaining anyway
^ No. And No
13:50 lets not forget to mention the sus folder named "nic's onlyfans pics" :))))
Feetfinder probably for Nic
Was wondering if anyone else caught that
Haha, that’s funny
Easter egg 😂
what's nic's onlyfans?
Fan control absolutely changed my life after your video on it!
Haven't watched computer videos in a while and came back to see Jay is still running the ifixit ads. Loving it! Keep up the great work guys
The JayzTwoCents iFixit ad. The only ad on TH-cam I don’t skip through.
already knew all those programs but i really like this kind of videos, would love a part 2
OpenRGB is fantastic, been a 22 year Linux user and it works great, totally eliminated my need for a dual boot with Windows which I used for RGB control which carried over after a reboot into Linux.
Love ya jay! I’ve been watching you since I was 13, i’m 23 now :) you taught me everything I know, and I own my own hardware repair store now. Owe it all to ya bro!
Good job on the store. Where at?
Same here started watching Jay in 2018 after being a tech enthusiast since a teen. Opened my own tech repair shop in 2019. Been going strong ever since and the motivation is all thanks to Jay, Phil & Nic and this awesome channel.
I was starving in the deserts of Africa. But with the help of ifixit kit I have turned my life around. I’m the hottest guy in the village.
boomstick?
Hot because of all the explosions?
Came for the INCREDIBLE value and PC-upgrade suggestions and stayed for the self-deprecation and good humour!
Shout out from Australia!
Thank you for these types of videos. I've been away from the computer for some time (driving over the road for a very long time), and I'm now just getting back into it. Learning all over again. This was very helpful. Thanks for your "two cents"!
Finally a piece of software that can rid me once and for all of Norton!
It's nice to save those clicks every time you remove something!
revo is like beer. since i discovered it, i could not imaginge a life without it. before i knew it existed, i too, just existed. but now i am alive.
This is peak guide at first i tough it was clickbait for a sponsored video but this was really good , great video , new sub !
Jay's great about clearing the air immediately, though.typically within 30 seconds you'll know if it was self funded or if vendor comped.
LMAO at the end - that was a great close! :) Love these updates on system utilities from time to time - thanks for doing this every so often!
@JayzTwoCents I'm surprised you haven't mentioned Patch My PC. Best piece of software out there, hands down.
Would like to see some Windirstat reped on here. Such a great program for helping you find out what is taking up so much space on your computer.
I already know what's taking up so much space on my computer. @#$%ing Call Of Duty. Nearly 200GB for a single game. Oh my giddy aunt!
WizzTree is far better, especially in terms of speed.
I'm so glad this channel exists!
i gotta be honest, when i clicked the video i expected actual useful programs, these are diagnostic tools that 90% of us will never need or already know about
dont get me wrong, its a good video and pretty useful for the people that build/repair pc's everyday, but its far from what i would consider every pc should have (like VLC or classic paint)
i'll stick to modern paint, transparency support, layers, one-click background removal
@@d3str0i3r i'll stick to Gimp when i want to do something special but for uncomplicated things, classic paint FTW
Glad to see you’re doing better! Thanks for this video Jay!
Better? What happened, was he dealing with something recently? I haven’t watched Jay too much recently so I wouldn’t really know
There was something going on with Jay?
Jay you look great with so enthusiasm and energy. Happy that you finally found what was wrong and found a treatment for it. I prayed for you daily and my prayers have been answered!
Thank bro. This video helped me a lot. I sold my ps4 and bought me a gtx 1080 for my old 4th gen i5 pc. Most new and demanding games ran very bad - I got blue screen and random restarts often. I installed MSI after burner and I noticed my temps were very high on low settings. I cranked up my CPU and GPU fans and I'm able to game on high settings without any issues.
"It's not jiraffics it's graphics" - This is singlehandedly the best argument I've heard to call it with the "g" sound.
pronounce
Light
Amplification by
Stimulated
Emission of
Radiation
i'll wait
the content of the acronym does not matter, its pronunciation is determined first by how the acronym feels in the mouth and how the creator of the acronym says it's pronounced if it does not make an existing word
in this case, though, Graphics Interchange Format shortens into the old english Gif, pronounced Yiff, which is the original spelling of "if"
so realistically, the G should neither be hard nor soft, it should be silent
@@d3str0i3r Yeah exactly! Acronyms don't care about what the sound of the word that makes it, it's irrelevant to the pronunciation of the acronym; if it did matter than well known terms like LASER, AIDS, JPEG, and SCUBA wouldn't be pronounced by the standard that we do. GIF is just in a grey enough area that it can be pronounced both ways by what the speaker feels comfortable with. I personally have an accent that makes soft 'g' GIF more comfortable. People understand what I'm speaking about so it doesn't hinder communication, which is all that matters :)
Plus, I don't want to have to pronounce SCUBA as 'scubba' 😬
The best argument to pronounce it with a soft G is because the creator of the format said that is the correct way to say it. I support the right of all inventors to name their invention.
these kinds of arguments never hold water, as there are several words that use soft g's as well, pronounce "George" or "giraffe" or "gym" for example. the inventor of the format specified a soft g, and on top of that it rolls off the tongue far easier that way too.
@blackrock1961 the creator of Dune insists you should be pronouns Chani like the vice president.
He's wrong too.
That Fan Control software is amazing!
YUP been usin it for SO LONG underrated AF
I just use bios and never look at my fans again 😂
I love it so much, I just wish I could force my gpu to use it instead of setting fan curves in Adrenaline.
Very useful overview. Thank you Jay! Hope that your health is improving!
autoruns is mine, many of yours are also part of my go to programs
As a linux user, I have found fan controllers and system monitors to be very helpful.
This is so crazy I was just looking for this sorta stuff today Thanks JAY
Thanx Jay
good stuff --- I really Liked your *_OverlyAggressive Advertising Style_* (hilarious) especially the explosions.
BUT..... I think you need *MORE Explosions*
Calm down there Michael Bay :D

Thanks for the Revo Uninstaller tip! Cleaned out a cr@pload of stuff that Disk Cleanup and other manual attempts simply did not touch.
I'm glad you're doing this again
I’m disappointed that a lot of the features of Revo Uninstaller you demoed are locked in the free version. Still a good recommendation, but I interpreted “free programs” to mean the free versions would have the functionality you were showing us. 😢
Yo ty so much Revo is the best piece of maintenance software ive seen
Install Windows using the World region settings.
Once installed set your region back to your actual region, so you can get updates etc.
This prevents Windows from installing all the bloat software.
Can you clarify how? Are you selecting the region during the windows installation setup? What bloatwares are not installed if you use that trick?
What bloat?
There's literally zero bloat on a a fresh Windows install that's not on an OEM PC.
@@MaffeyZilog Facebook, Spotify, Tiktok, Solitaire, Disney+, Netflix, Instagram, Clipchamp, Prime Video, and random mobile games. Those are all bloatware I had on my pc freshly installing Windows, there's still way more on a list you can see online. Instead of using this persons trick though I used Bloatbox, or there's also Chris Titus' Windows bloatware software
@@AndrewDy when your at the menu to select language and currency, scroll down a little and select English World instead of the the normal English one. and it gets rid of basically all of it. I know it doesn't install these... Mail and Calendar, Your Phone, Microsoft People, Xbox Console Companion, Windows Terminal, Solitaire Collection, Power Automate Desktop, Mixed Reality Portal, Xbox Game Bar,
OneNote, Movies & TV, Get Help, Sticky Notes, Paint 3D. Btw What bloatware comes with your install depends which region your in. Or what region you say your in
@@mattrandolph5980 the majority of those are important
I really love the concept of this video please make more of these more frequently like maybe every 6 months or so
Been using revo uninstaller since my pentium 4 days, LOVE THIS Thing 👌
Worth noting, i had OpenRGB bricked my non RGB ram so be mindful when using as im not alone
Yeah I use SignalRGB instead, it's much better and fool proof. OpenRGB does have warnings set in place now so it's much harder to brick your stuff but I still don't trust it.
wiztree or windirstat should totally be on this list
Utilities are the BEST part of having a PC! I dig my ccleaner, disk dfrag, any video converter, acd-see, debut capture, nexus desktop, nexus font manager, rainmeter, visual studio, notepad ++, media player classic black, firefox + plugs, windows, inkscape, kodi and all the arcade and mac emulators.
Gross, ccleaner .....
Glad to see an updated video about this subject!
no one is talking about the folder top left
🤣🤣
hey man, I really appreciate this video. some of these are already on my go-to application list. thanks for showing me the others! they really are the cures for a number of common nightmares that a lot of people probably gave up trying to solve long ago, writing them off as unfixable quirks.
Chris Titus Tech Windows Utility is amazing
No, Chris Titus is a con artist and a liar. "Debloating" Windows causes more harm than good and can actually destroy your Windows install. Just uninstall the things that came with Windows that you don't want (i.e: News, Weather, etc.) from Windows Settings / Add & Remove Programs in the Control Panel.
@@SOREI Wow. You must work for Microsoft. Go To Bed....PLEASE
Is the LTT screwdriver better or the ifixit?
I caught your other Video about Revo and gave it a try and WOW! I was very pleased and used it on all my other PC's and laptop. Thank you!
any recommendation on Network monitoring tools? I had ping spikes for a few weeks now and want to trace the root issue
But can Revo Uninstaller entirely remove Internet Explorer?! Hmmmm
I started using fan control since your first video feature of it. It's a great piece of software and works flawlessly(for me at least)
How can the Microsoft PowerToys miss from this list ?
Good recommendation.
I think this is the most appropiate moment to mention that "I use Arch btw." 💀
Lmao most of this stuff is built in in arch or it’s very simple to install with aur or pacman
I absolutely love the ifixit adds...... I wish all ads were this fun. I laugh everytime hahaha
Best free software is a Linux OS
Fan control fucked my pc up trying to uninstall while losing power. Don’t recommend as there’s also no real uninstall tool either.
Have you tried Revo?
Haha!
Total Commander for a program I need on every system.
That’s a classic !!! A very good one !!
Good advice that jibes with what I've learned over the years.
