Ring the bell 3 times, then view the painting near by, then ring it 3 more times. the voice says 3 times. Go into one of the near by rooms and there is a clock hit it to move the clock to the 3 different times and you get a item
If you're talking about the green wall clock in Leon's room.. I'm pretty sure you don't have to do any of that. Just hit the green clock x amount of times and it will reward you.
@@f5203 it’s the clock that’s up high on the wall. Not the tall standing clock. But yeah you could just hit the clock enough and eventually you’ll get the reward but for the whole Easter egg experience you’d want to do it all
The clocktower gives an item depending on your save file playtime, one per hour real-time, giving 12 total. An item every 12th hour would be so brutal lol. And in re:coded, Sora has a move where he uses his keyblade by holding onto the chain and swinging it, so kh4 won't be the first time he's done so actually. Love the video btw very well done!
Sora in KH 4 isn't swinging the chain, the chain is extending like a grappling hook so it's not really the same thing at all. I do like them involving the chain more in combat though
The funniest thing about being able to leave Captain Hook's arena is that, if you time it right, you can get unlimited EXP from defeating him, walking out the door as he's going through his death animation, coming back and then defeating him again and repeating the whole cycle.
Now that you mention it, I do see some similarities. Also, the ultima weapons of each numbered title resemble their number. Kh1 has 1 main blade Kh 2 made out of 2 blades, etc..
KH3 Ultima Weapon is the best by far! Not only does it have the best stats of any Keyblade that Sora can use, especially when fully upgraded to Lv. 10, but it's shaft consists of three blades, AND it has the BEST formchange tied to it! Ultimate Form is Sora at his absolute strongest, without question, and it's a perfectly natural evolution of Final Form in KH2!
I think it would have been really cool if they added in Bahamut as a secret summon. Just having a single FF summon as a homage to the FF inspirations would have been a nice touch, imo. Although, I can see why it was cut.
Actually, kingdom hearts Dream Drop Distance has an attack command called were Sora/Riku hold the chain of the key blade and spin it around like a windmill. So Sora holding the key blade by its chain was actually used prior to KH4
Technically, the destiny sword is inside Ultima Weapon. Kind of a call back to when Cloud got the sword “Ragnarok” and it was suspiciously similar to Ultima weapon in ff7
You can challenge Tidus, Selphie and Wakka together on the first day too. You just need to beat them individually before the option pops out talking to Tidus. Also, after Hollow Bastion, in the Rabbit Hole you can obrain a Mega-Elixir from a chest (same place you obtained the Mega-Potion).
I think the first game holds up better than 99 percent of games on PS2. Especially action rpgs. Final mix remastered is absolutely stellar. Like if it came out today it'd be great
Jokes on you because it is in 1.5 + 2.5 HD release on almost every system. Every playable Kingdom Hearts in those is the final mix version of each game except for Re: chain of memories.
Hey bud. Love the video. If you're using the same voice over setup for your next vids use a low-cut/high-pass filter (EQ) at around 50 or 60hz. Good luck and looking forward to the next one!
Technically the Dream Sword is part of the Ultima Weapon's design, so while you can't get the Dream Sword itself back, the Ultima Weapon is kinda sorta if you squint really hard the Dream Sword
I'm sure you'd love to know this if you don't already, but there's owl hoots/noises in merlins cave thingy in base kh one! Sadly since data was lost, the remix's/final mix's don't have this little thing anymore- but it's a neat fact.
I have the aether PS2 on my phone and with that I play the original final mix and it does have that. Final mix is the Japanese release it has almost everything in the regular American release which is just called Kingdom Hearts. I need fact is that you are wrong you obviously haven't played the Japanese version of final mix. People really need to do their research
Like I literally played Kingdom Hearts final mix last night and I have been for the last month because I'm messing with it code wise. Too many people are overlooking things by digging through secrets and getting sidetracked by ones that overlook the others
There was no data loss because the final mix version came out in Japan before we even got the American Kingdom Hearts. Also the European version has differences in it that the other two version dont
Been waiting for this since the shorts started coming out!! Amazing video, i live for things like this. Kh1 has so many cute details it's so much fun finding them
IDK if anyone has pointed this out. But the dream sword is obtainable, although it is used as the base for the ultima weapon, which was confirmed by one of the devs
Hey man, this video came out great! Had a cybershell feel too it. If this is the direction where you're gonna be taking your channel then I'm looking forward to seeing what else you got in store. Well done!
I will say, there is a command in Re:Coded called Chain Rave, which has Data Sora swinging his keyblade by the chain, but that's just the one instance before the KH4 showcase.
Fantastic video. I consider myself to be somewhat of a KH super fan and there were quite a few facts on your list I’d never heard before! Would love to see more videos from you!
Loved the video! I really liked that Cybershell SMRPG video so seeing you give KH1 that same love was great (plus I like your editing). Hope you’ll do more videos like this for KH and other games!
8:12 I remember the character named Behemoth from Nightmare Before Xmas being sold at E.B. Games. I think it was paired with Halloweentown Donald. 11:10 But this is probably what I was thinking of. Although, I think I remember the KH LOGO on the box.
The KH manga is still ongoing, actually! The original manga publishers went out of business years ago while the KH2 manga was being made, with only the original two volumes being released at the time, but overseas the team carried on, even starting an adaptation of 358/2 Days that eventually took over as the priority before finishing KH2! Years later, probably to capitalize on increased hype by KH3's release, we finally got new releases and localizations for the rest of the manga. I think right now the manga is covering KH3, but it's really neat and charming to see how after all this time, the manga still went strong!
Actually the items in the clock tower are available every in-game hour. There are 24 doors and each one activates every hour in game, so if you miss the first one you'd have to wait 25 hours for the first door to be active again
3:14 the [D E E P J U N G L E] is killing me lmaooo. what did you accidentally call it in the first place that you had to dub yourself over like that???
kingdom hearts is an odd game for me. i loved playing it as a kid, i even remember reading the playstation magazine article leading up to release and being so excited. i replayed the remaster with my ex girlfriend years ago and now i cant touch the game, just the music makes me too sad. i guess it makes me want to do my life over again. beauty always leads to pain, and only courage from within propels the journey by the ragged sails of the heart
My parents got me the complete series of those kingdom hearts figures as a kid for Christmas. It literally made my entire year LMAO I have them packed away somewhere now in storage, but I think about them sometimes and laugh at their goofy faces
I really am such a nerd cuz I knew a lot of these facts already but the ones I didn’t know were EXTREMELY fascinating to me. Great video btw. Watching anything KH related makes me happy :)
In the hotel, after no vacancy, you interact with each painting on each end of the hall. Then hit the bell 3 times again. Then go into one of the rooms and interact with 3 paintings and hit the clock a bunch
I'm very happy to have a video detailing all of these in one spot, especially one by a smaller creator, but there are two things I can add I didn't see anyone talk about in the comments. Firstly, that beta design for Sora was used as the basis for his Lion form in KH2. So while it didn't come back as is, they still recycled the design later on. Secondly, a while back some of the script for the animated series was leaked, and Jungle Book was meant to show up there in place of Deep Jungle according to one episode title (Man's Red Fire). So that means not only has it gotten shafted _three times_, but all evidence shows the world would have focused on King Louie instead of Sher Khan.
24:48 This is incorrect. The models aren't the DDD versions. Theyre still the original KH1 models, but they use different textures and UVs. A better explanation: KH1 HD uses the original files from the PS2 release and a new file format, known as .CVBL These new files does contain mesh data. Even though it is identical in geometry, it can also have updated UV values if the textures changed (e.g. Sora). The joints are still in the original MDLS, and unlike the MDLS the associated files (e.g. textures) aren't embedded in the CVBL but are separate files. Those filenames aren't even referenced by the CVBL, so the game engine is doing something to find them and retarget them all on its own. You can still see that Ansem's face shape is the same as the PS2 version, unlike DDD, which is a bit different.
I remember reading the KH1 manga from my local library.... I completely forgot how much wilder it was to the main series, including that part shown where some random woman tried to pick up Sora like she was talking him into a paid dating thing....
When I first played this game as a kid, I couldn't figure out how to get up to the last platform that leads to the boss of Monstro, because I didn't know about the High Jump chest. I knew about going to Neverland and getting the Glide ability, so I thought that was what I needed. So I left and completed Neverland first. So I naturally saw the alternate cutscene for doing Neverland first, but only the last one and not the others, which confused me. I have all 4 volumes of the Kingdom Hearts manga and 2 of the volumes of 2's manga. They were at a now defunct bookstore chain called "Books-a-Million" in my town, and I bought a bunch of manga there. I saw they were there and said WOAH I GOTTA get that! It's not a bad adaptation, it's got a breakneck pace and really rushes through the storyline quick, but apparently most video game based manga are like that. The FFX situation is actually the opposite, the International version was what first introduced the Dark Aeons and Penance, and the PAL version which was based on it was the only way non-japanese countries got to do that side quest before the remaster was made based on International. Not sure why they called it "International" that time.
The Wonderland chest at the beginning can actually be spawned 3 times, each with a different reward. The first time is before Alice's trial and rewards a Camping Set, the second time is before rescuing Kairi in Hollow Bastion and rewards a Mega Potion, and the third time is after rescuing Kairi in Hollow Bastion and rewards a Megalixir.
I actually never noticed that Sora's, Riku's, and Ansem's models were from DDD, while Sora and Riku look mostly the same, Ansem's head is shaped differently and looking at them i kinda prefer his old model
Cool vid! Wanted to add a few things that haven't been mentioned in the comments yet. Cannonly Sora gets the sword according to the shadows cutscene that the title menu plays if you wait a bit. Also, EXP 0 and Combo Master were added into the HD version, but other than that it is very similar mechanically. There are actually 3 chests total you can get in the rabbit hole, each at different points of the story that you have to defeat heartless and come back for. Trickmaster doesn't use fire if you cast blizzard on the grill of the stove during the fight. Wanted to point out that you can miss a hole in the tree house in Deep Jungle. You have to try to fight sabor in the tree house at a very specific time before heartless spawn. Poo gives you a mythril for lighting his fire after you complete all the minigames in 100 acre wood. This game actually lets you sell rare accessories that you can only obtain once for 10 munny which is a weird mechanic. Lastly this is the only game that has the game clock change after 100 hours and it restarts (found this out on Level 1/100% lmao).
I don’t even like KH, but I really enjoyed this video. I love when people do these sort of deep dives into games and you did it pretty well. Earned a sub.
The guy in the hotel in Traverse town, if you go to both sides of the hallway and interact with both paintings, he'll give you a hint to get a chest to spawn in the Green room.
Hold up... I'm at the no vacancies bell n I'll explain as far as I figured out. Hit the bell 3 times for him to talk. If you inspect both paintings in the lobby he will say something about the paintings. Hit the bell 3 more times he'll tell you to try hitting the clock in the green room. In the green room the paintings will tell you the times you must hit the clock to and you spawn a chest to open.
2:15 I discovered this the first time I played and spent at least 20 minutes agonizing over what to do with it. Spent every following playthrough trying to figure it out until one day I looked into it and learned it was just a weird little flavor text lol
14:25 I dunno if anyone's posted this already, but Sora and Riku do use the chain to spin the keyblade in Dream Drop Distance, with a move called Chain Rave. I've seen some people say it's the move that inspired his up tilt attack in smash bros ultimate.
Damn that’s crazy how much the Riku jafar pack can go for, i definitely had it as a kid got a lot of mileage out of Riku in this cool darkness outfit lol
Thank to everyone who watched this, I just put out other video very similar to this in anticipation of Persona 3 Reload so check it out if you have the chance th-cam.com/video/CamUKvR_LrQ/w-d-xo.html
I don't know if it has been mentioned here in the comments before, but you can walk away from the fight with the Inverse Armor in Traverse Town too when you come back for the second time to fight it in the second district.
I knew most of these except attacking the evil queen and the fact you can walk away from multiple bosses. I didn't know about Riku not fighting with you either. After replaying KH1 in final mix form I grew to appreciate how much more open it feels with interacting with the enviroment. Its ahsame KH3 didn't expand on that more especially with the mickey emblems
Sora's original lion design should've been his character model in Timeless River and I consider the slight on par with the burning of the Library of Alexandria
The no vacancy person will actually hint you to hit the clock in the green room after inspecting the two pictures on the far sides of the walls. Found this out wayyyyy after my childhood playthrus
25:03 they didn't "lose" the models they lost the source code which they had to reconstruct from the games disc hexidecimal, if they wanted to use the old models they could but they chose to update it like they did with FFX
Kind of a small one, but I remember noticing that if you do not go to Olympus Colloseum, Chip or Dale will say "There's a tournament happening somewhere". Lol
Don't know if anyone brought it up, but I think Sora and Riku do twirl the keyblade around by the keychain in Windmill command deck attacks in DDD. But ya, even more elaborate showcases of keychain attacks would be great.
there was an ability in Re:coded called chain rave where you would spin the keyblade by the chain while moving forward. Coded doesn't get talked about a lot.
I don't consider Cheshire Cat to be a villain, but more of an anti-hero. He's mysterious, but if you collect all of the pieces of evidence to prove Alice's innocence, he gives you Blizzard magic, so I don't think he's necessarily villainous, just elusive and confusing, like everyone and everything else in Wonderland.
I think Walt being in Kingdom Hearts could have worked. Either via Easter egg or he could have been a scientist like Ansem the Wise but instead of studying the Heatless and general darkness, he could have been researching the joyfulness of the Heart and general light etc

Earned a sub.
kh1 is the first game i ever completed it'll always have a special place in my heart
"Jun Akiyama" THE WRESLTER?!
fun fact you can actually fight TEE-dus, waka, and selfie on the first day
tbf the sword seen in the Ultima Design does resemble the sword from the dive into the heart section a little bit
Was just scrolling through tintype the same thing
The Ultima Blade is actually the Dream Sword when looking at the design you can see the standard Dream Sword
re:coded has a command that makes sora attack by spinning the keyblade by the chain, so that got used in a way
This video was very well put together and very informative. You've earned my sub. Please make it a series
The guy in the hotel in Traverse town, if you go to both sides of the hallway and interact with both paintings, he'll give you a hint to get a chest to spawn in the Green room.
As a fellow Kingdom Hearts enjoyer and vtuber who's character is based off the franchise, you my friend earned a sub
I've seen some people say it's the move that inspired his up tilt attack in smash bros ultimate.
i feel like i remember seeing it re:coded too but could be wrong
Another Final Fantasy reference is when Sora finishes a round in the Colosseum he will copy with Cloud or Squalls victory stances
Great Video!!
That's nuts...
MOARLIKEDEEZNUTZGOTTEM
I think.... you're NUTS
no
Damn that’s crazy how much the Riku jafar pack can go for, i definitely had it as a kid got a lot of mileage out of Riku in this cool darkness outfit lol
Thank to everyone who watched this, I just put out other video very similar to this in anticipation of Persona 3 Reload so check it out if you have the chance th-cam.com/video/CamUKvR_LrQ/w-d-xo.html
i love this game to death, really appreciate this video!
There is actually a move in Re:Coded where data Sora hit the enemies holding the keyblade by the chain
I don't know if it has been mentioned here in the comments before, but you can walk away from the fight with the Inverse Armor in Traverse Town too when you come back for the second time to fight it in the second district.
Some of these stuff feel like a demonstration of the next gen power considering KH came out early into the PS2’s lifespan
Fun fact, while you can't get the dream sword later in the game, ultima weapons blade is the same shape as the dream sword
After Eraqus I believe Nomura wanting Walt in the game. Wonderful video!
After seeing Riku and the moon in Neverland here, I cannot un-convince myself that Riku is MoM.
I already knew many of the facts, but there also were many I didnt know
there was an ability in Re:coded called chain rave where you would spin the keyblade by the chain while moving forward. Coded doesn't get talked about a lot.
The Merchandise facts were completly wild
i didn't know you could skip the jungle slide minigame in DEEP JUNGLE, that's pretty cool
Thank you for this video! All of this is really cool!
The last crossover i expect kh to be affliated with is eight crazy nights.
I need those stickers
Great video but those toy combos actually made sense when you think about it
I don't consider Cheshire Cat to be a villain, but more of an anti-hero. He's mysterious, but if you collect all of the pieces of evidence to prove Alice's innocence, he gives you Blizzard magic, so I don't think he's necessarily villainous, just elusive and confusing, like everyone and everything else in Wonderland.
Will you please do the rest of the kingdom hearts games? :-)
You can fight all three of your friends on destiny island the first day, you just have to beat them individually first and then talk to tidus
Awesome video, keep this style
I think Walt being in Kingdom Hearts could have worked. Either via Easter egg or he could have been a scientist like Ansem the Wise but instead of studying the Heatless and general darkness, he could have been researching the joyfulness of the Heart and general light etc
