Sunshine was too ambitious to develop in 3 years. More or less 8 months. Splatoon devs obviously worked on Sunshine since Salmon Run is yet again another scrapped beta Sunshine idea being used. The sniper ink gun is literally the scrapped Sniper nozzle. Odyssey level structure however, really sounds similar to the way they wanted Sunshine to function, doing miscellaneous tasks that will affect the world around you. Nintendo will keep doing anything with Sunshine but make it to the proper game they envisioned.

I freaking love Super Mario Sunshine I smoked so much weed playing that game. Ganja and sunshine.

Great video, and these beta clips and unused mission dialogs are fascinating. For my part, I feel like we got the better game. It was only the second fully 3D mainline Mario game; they could have gone anywhere after 64 but I'm glad they didn't. It's basically the gameplay of SM64 but with better graphics and a wider, tighter moveset. Totally addition by subtraction, here.

What a beautiful way to end a games story the way how despite their differences the four decide to work together to stop a greater threat I especially loved wario's character arc where he has been nothing but greedy his entire life but when the only person he cared for waluigi died and was trapped in a ghost room wario decided to help the mario bros and yoshi to stop bowser and break the spell

Bowser doesn't have an upright stance/walking animation in DS does he? this whole room is a mystery, is it just a square room with Bowser and the playable characters? are there hazards to toss Bowser into? how come in the 19 years Mario 64 DS released we haven't found any asset related to this map?
