One of the tricks Wayne Goss recommends is when you have undereye bags and the dark circles under that, put the lighter colour concealer in the 'trough', that dark line under the bag, to lighten it up and 'bring it out' therefore appears to shrink back the look of the bag, which actually does stick further out. I don't know if that is described well enough, he did it as he talked about it, and it really worked. I saw a female make-up artist also do it.. so I do it, and it really does work. Its a great trick to improve the look under the eyes...then just the lightest touch of foundation and/or a brightening finishing powder over the undereye to blend it all.
Hello Dez! ✨️ I love this British version of $10 and under makeup! I love learning more about products that are affordable from across the pond! Thank you so much for the shout-out! Looking absolutely beautiful, my sweet friend! Much love, Cat xoxo
Hi Dez, US subscriber. Your makeup looks great; it really stayed nice throughtout the day. I've used many drugstore products and thre quality has improved over the years. I like the W&W Hydrator but I wish that the offered more shades.
Hi Dez ! That was a good video, I really like the wet n wild hydrator, lovely for warmer weather, it looked like a BB cream on you. Also loved the blusher. There was an article online today, daily mail, about high end v elf products, by I think , make up influencers, I do hate that word. And they all said what a great brand Elf is. But I think pretty much, there are good products in most drugstore ranges, just a case of what works for us. Caroline Barnes, who I really like, was very impressed with the revolution lipstick you used. I’m having a trip off island soon, and cannot wait to go into some bigger stores and look at different make up, and clothes shops !! Thanks as always, enjoyed that 😊.
Thanks Marjorie! Hope the shopping trip goes well. Love Caroline, I got into her via Nadine Baggott - I love it when her mum comes on! Have a good Sunday. If you find any gems on your trip, let us know ❤
Hello, Dez - I enjoyed watching you apply these affordable products. I use a few drugstore items - mostly from ELF - but generally derive so much enjoyment from owning and wearing luxury makeup, it's worth it to me to buy only occasionally (other than going a bit mad during lockdowns). I know the makeup doesn't look any different when I'm actually wearing it, but I'm fine with that. I did look for the Wet N Wild eye primer, though, after you used it here - and it's "Unavailable" on the few Canadian sites that carry the brand, other than Walmart, who will graciously send it to me for $65.65. Good grief. Again, many thanks for another informative video. Hope the weather in London is good - Ruth
OMG, that's crazy! I do not understand why brands make it so hard for us sometimes, and why they change products from one country to another. Ho hum! I vacillate between high end and high street depending on my mood, but I have to admit I've gone higher end lately! Weather really lovely today, albeit it chilly. Roll on the clocks going forward next weekend! Thanks so much for watching, Ruth, and have a lovely Sunday ❤
You resonate with me in so many ways! We are a very similar age, similar body type, similar attitude towards living in a body of a certain age... and I just discovered you've had a nose job! Me too! My first nose was fine - high bridge, father's side of the family's nose... just not a cute nose on a child, and my mother, whom I did not trust (long story), drew attention to it rather a lot, in a positive way, photographing me in profile, etc. and I developed an issue. I had it "done" at about 30, give or take, and although my new nose wasn't as nice, it wasn't the old one so I was fine with it. About a year later, I threw a big Sunday brunch where friends brought friends, and one of these friends of friends was looking at me quizzically for rather a long time. Then, quite suddenly, he exclaimed: "Harold Silver!" Harold Silver was the surgeon who did my nose! The guest continued, "We both have, in the middle of our faces, the imprint of Harold Silver's right thumb!" And so we did. Looking at our noses together is was absolutely clear that that was how they were shaped, curved around the right thumb of a popular but arrogant plastic surgeon. My nose has been noticeably crooked since that time. I was once asked by a new GP how I had broken my nose. She was embarrassed when I told her that I had paid a lot of money for that broken nose! But, you know, it's not the nose I had the issue with, so I'm ok with it. ;0)
Oh that rings so true! Surgeons are an arrogant lot, on the whole. My mother used to say that there was a particular type of nose job - tiny -which the actress Marianne Stone was given by her surgeon (she was a friend of my mother's). I think my surgeon took the plaster off my nose too early because I now have a small bump along the bridge - but I'm fine with that. Thank you so much for watching ❤️
@@beautybydez I will definitely continue to watch. I think we have both learned a lot over the years about being fine, or near enough, with our imperfections, and not letting them dominate the experience. This is one of the reasons I watch your channel with pleasure. The point is, I think, to be gorgeous, not perfect ;0)
The makeup always looks loads better in daylight, would like a longer shot of that. Makeup looks very flattering. Have you seen Lisa Eldridge skin tint? Are you thinking of trying it? Have a good week x
Hello my gorgeous friend. Yes to the Tinted Hydrator by Wet N Wild. It's my go to summer foundation. NYX also has great inexpensive products. I try to go lighter on the bronzer color, but that's just me. Some like a much deeper shade. People are mean. I'm just watching you. I'm not critiquing your teeth. How rude! I have Chauffeur by Makeup Revolution. I usually top it with a gloss. Everything looks so very nice on you. Enjoy what's left of your Sunday!❤❤
Thank you my dearest friend! Re teeth, happy to report dentist had some good ideas on how to improve them 😁. Just not sure about the fringe - to keep or grow out - first world probs 🙃. Happy Sunday to you - off to eat a roast dinner - classic British fare 😄. Hugs 🥰🥰🥰
@@beautybydezdefinitely keep the bangs. They look lovely on you. Don't even give your teeth a thought. I never noticed! Enjoy your dinner. It's only 5:30 here, and I'm truly ready for bed!😅 a very lazy Sunday. Have a fabulous week. Big hugs. 🫂😘
So many nice products! I think those little Revlon eye palettes are a true hidden gem, they are just as nice as the more expensive ones. Love the finished look! I’m taking a break and regrouping here so I imagine I’ll have more time to binge watch you! Mr. Maggie, my resident know it all (retired eye surgeon) says the scars will change in shape and continue to heal for up to a year. He likes rub Vaseline into the scar every night for a year. Unsolicited advice but I thought I would share.
Oh interesting, thanks Maggie - I'll give that a go! And aren't those little palettes good - I am so looking forward to trying the raspberry one. Sending lots of love your way ❤❤❤
Dez: I think you look fabulous! I adore the fringe...very similar to my own hair color, texture and style. Yes, I have "elephant hide" skin on my lids, too, lol. That raspberry quad from Revlon is beautiful; I was thinking about getting it, also. It all came together beautifully..no need to break the bank, unless you can, and want to. Thank you for sharing. 🙂 Rosemarie ❤️
Love that foundation, Dez! I did try Wet n Wild many years ago. The faces we make while applying makeup lol. They sure don't make movies like 7 Brides for 7 brothers any more. Unfortunately. Good, clean movies that has a story. Wow nose surgery in the 40's? You are beautiful!! Nude lip with a gamey is perfect. Wow after 8 hours it looks good. Drugstore is underrated. Can be much better than luxury! Great video!! XOXO
Hi beautiful Dez! Wow! That tinted hydrator is gorgeous on your skin! Once again you have inspired me to get mine back out again! Unbelievable how rude some people can be(commenting on your teeth)! Please ignore her. You are so beautiful! Did you get the Max Factor liner on Amazon? I’m thinking I haven’t seen that brand in stores, in quite awhile. And thank you for the giggle again! I always chuckle when you talk when lining your lips! lol! Beautiful look Dez! So impressed how well the eyeshadow wore! And you are right the concealer looked fantastic after 8 hours! Thoroughly enjoyed this video!❤️
Thanks so much Tina! Yes the pencil was from Amazon - it's called the Max Factor Masterpiece Kohl Kajal Automatic Pencil, 003 Beige - I forgot about it until I was doing this video - it is a good colour, I think, not too white. I had fun doing the video - I wasnt sure I'd find that many products under a tenner (as we Brits call £10!).
All the products seemed to apply well - the foundation was really nice. I thought the concealer went on seamlessly - and didn't appear to clump. All in all, I'd say this look would rival much more costly products!
I have a few years on you and my eyes are shaped differently but I apply concealer differently than you. I am curious how my placement would look on you. I put a very scant dot at the inner corner of my eye, another scant dot below my eye sort of below any puffiness and closer to the nose than the center of the eye. The last tiny dot goes at the outer corner of my eye. I've been told the finger next to the pinky is the weakest so I always use that to pat in the concealer starting from the inner corner & down. I leave the outer area under my eye bare & then pat in the outer corner. Then I pounce lightly again starting from the inside corner working my way to the outer corner with a damp mini beauty sponge.
Right, thanks Andrea, I'm going to give it a go - I am quite sort of gung-ho as you can probably tell and just stick it on and hope for the best!! I have a good few concealers to try yet on camera, so I'll demo that technique soon!
