Can't thank you enough for these videos. Absolutely fascinating. Heartbroken about the race 2 result but what a legend that young man is!! I am sorry his stint in the Honda team is over but really glad he is back in the Marvel team. Hope to get to a round of BSB next year so will definitely bring a treat by the garage. The info you discuss on the setting up of the bike is so informative it won't be long before armchair crew chiefs are popping in the garage to suggest changes to make!!
Was lucky enough to be there for Sunday. Absolutely gutted we missed the fantastic performance on Saturday. Its been an absolute pleasure travelling the country watching Franco & this fantastic team this season. Unfortunately Brands is another we miss in the finale, 😢,but already wishing life away to nx season. Was great chatting at Donington, as ever. Best wishes for Brands. Paul H.
Fantastic Dave, great job by such an ace team, and having Franco aboard again opitimises why this new Pathway route is such a great idea - what a talent he is!! Best of Luck at Brands!!
Evening Dave……so looking forward to this, Franco did superb…..was willing him on from the edge of the sofa……👍👍👍🇮🇲💪👌. Matt was having kittens on the paddock wall…..bless him. P6 was amazing 👍👍👍🇮🇲👌
A great vid of behind the scenes in the garage . Looks like a great set up. Two great results, great rides by Franco, well done young man. Such a shame about the fuel pipe, but these things happen. You must all be chuffed with how the meeting went overall, well done.
A massive effort from you Dave, the team & the brothers! Absolutely mega from Franco but that goes without saying 💪💪⭐️ Matt is a champion team owner & manager🙌🥇 Thanks Dave! A great insight in to racing BSB!💫
Loved the video. It's the best behind the scenes stuff. It's wonderful to see Franco looking so relaxed and happy. I believe he's better with you guys. Amazing weekend for the whole team. Wish you the best of luck going forward.
Good weekend on the pathway Honda you all did brilliant and especially Franco shame about that tank fitting going wrong it's a learning curve is that the right thing to say good luck at brans hatch lads
Evening Dave, blimey thats one serious work rate / learning curve for the Pathway machinery!!! That Motec dash screen is smexy 😉 What a ride by Franco tho... sensational effort, sensational result ( race 2 was a real kick in the knadgers for all of you) Brilliant stuff by all. Thanks for such a great vid on what was obviously a pretty hectic weekend 👍👍
P6 in the rain with a “smaller” tire, not as good of brakes,or not as good forks yeah not too bad!! You guys going what you do and once Franco gets 100% confidence in himself there’s no stopping you guys!!
Love these vlogs…all info comes across really well and the content is very informative….no fills …said as it is …. Franco is some of the great talent rising quickly
As per usual Dave a brilliant video! Gutted about race 2, Franco was simply amazing, as was the whole team! Keep up the great work everyone! . . Franco, it’s just a matter of time lad! Brilliant stuff.
Absolutely awesome great to see the team in action and what an effort from Franco looking forward to the next one hope it all goes to plan and the results keep on coming fab many thanks for sharing guys 👌👍
Now that was good, After Franco's time with Honda I am so pleased, the psychological impact on Franco and the team could have been a challenge In many ways, the positive atmosphere is magical to see.
Brilliant videos and congratulations to everyone in the team on these amazing performances. Watching Franco’s progress on the BSB sidebar adds a new dimension to the TV viewing and I look forward to seeing more of him in shot at the sharp end!
Best 'behind the scenes' videos I've ever seen. The amount of precision work done between sessions is bewildering (I raced a TZ350 for a few years way back and all I ever did between races was take a wild stab at gearing and jetting settings). 2nd race was a heartbreaker but 2 awesome rides by Franco. Huge thanks & congrat's to all involved
That's a brilliant effort to step up to the most competitive domestic championship and pick up results is amazing well done to the team but top work from Franco 💪
Love these videos and so pleased you’re now in the BSB paddock. The pathway scheme sounds awesome! Would love to be able to get a hospitality weekend next year to see even more behind the scenes! 👍
Really enjoyed your insight into your teams success at a very eventful BSB weekend. Congratulations to you all on what you achieved and best of luck for Brands Hatch👏👏👏
Great vlog of a weekends racing 👍had everything all wrapped into one to show why we all love the emotion of going racing, thanks! It's always the little things 😡 live and learn Super steep learning curve but what a job by all, the boy can certainly ride but the team can certainly work together, build and setup a solid machine...well done 👏👏 all the best moving forward 🏍✊
Great stuff once again, really love these BSB weekend videos. Probably unlikely but it would be handy to be dry at Brands I'd imagine so you can get some idea of how the bike is against the superbikes in the dry. I think Franco gave away another reason for arm pump 🤣
Hi Dave, could you give a quick and slightly more in depth explanation of the engine braking control, seems like you insinuated off throttle rear wheel drag is controlled by slipping the clutch, am I correct in thinking that's the case? From what I can gather other manufactures use the throttle mapping to vary the engine braking. This channel is a great insight into the inner workings and technical side of bike racing and for me at least it's one of the main reasons I am a subscriber, great stuff as always.
The engine brake map is mostly controlling the throttle openings, to bleed more or less air into the cylinders thus altering the amount of deceleration. Fuel input can influence it too. The slipper clutch is almost just a back up plan in case the rider gets too excited on down changes
It's 2am,,,,,, 40 mins ago I was nodding off at my pc, then motorbike porn came on and i,m wide awake!! Some crazy guys taking on the best of British on a stocker! F*ckin awsome 🏍💯💪👏
Have to say everyone did a brilliant job and not least Franco.Great explanation from you Dave on the goings on with the team.Couldyou please explain all the goings on with the change to Honda for Franco and now back with the MARVEL team on the pathway bike.Did Honda not want him. Please explain .Thanks.
He was just a stand in while Andy Irwin was injured, now Andy is back we have Franco home with us. Honda keep giving us lots of support as they want to see Franco succeed on a Fireblade as much as we do
Brilliant results this was Dave for Franco, the team and pathway as a series going forward. Do you think in the wet we will see pathway bikes showing good results often? The wet is always a skill leveller and shows talent for bigger teams too doesn’t it, but equally would you agree that the pathway bikes will be a tad softer chassis wise, which of course will aid grip level and feel a little more in these conditions ?
In theory, the fancy swing arms and forks, etc, should increase grip, that's kind of the point. And the stocker isn't far down on power. It's how you set it up that counts... But, the advantage of the fancy parts is reduced so the rider is on more level equipment and can shine through
Just wondering I was noticing a couple of super stock bikes being really loud compared to others during the race almost as loud as the WSBK race bikes, is this because of the new motec system / ecu ? The lami r1 Yamaha sounded like the god of thunder it was amazing
Awesome feedback and awesome video I been watching your channel for years And I do love it the only criticism I have is that you did not get back to me in regards of getting your obsession engineering apparel but I believe you have been busy to do-what you do anyway hope you guys do well. In the future J Au Brisbane
@17.01 Did you mean the harder spring in the rear didn't work? At that point(and generally)it must've been incredibly difficult to put the 'right' settings in, with changing forces inputing through the bike and also changing (and new tarmac) surface conditions. I hope Brands is more consistent for all concerned.
Dave you always come across as the joker but 6th in BSB, With a tiny budget! If I had the money I wouldn’t be able to decided for you to build me a bike or sponsor you! Well done everyone!👍
Any other Yanks having trouble buying OEngineering apparel? “Unable to determine shipping”, or some such… I think the hoody will be appropriate wear for 2024 TT. Thanks for videos Dave!
Dave! would you be an awesome guy and give me a hand with validating something I'm about to do?? for a 85kilo rider, with a S1000RR equipped with Ohlins TTX GP shock, which spring would you use? I'm not the fastest, but certainly not the slowest, the shock had the default 85N/mm and I just purchased a 95N/mm because I'm tearing my rear tire... already tried to use my hydraulics as closed as I could (2 clicks) and I have pumping on corner exit... with the stiffer spring am I on the right track??
If you've got the dampers at 2 clicks from fully closed, that's half the problem, you can't fix the wrong spring with damping. What year rr? On my gen 3 I'm using a 105 rear, with 12mm preload. Might be best to drop me a message through the website to discuss more as there could be other things going on obsessionengineering.co.uk
I’m obviously wrong but wouldn’t it be better for front running STK teams to stay there where they can win races and compete for championships. Wouldn’t they get good coverage for that instead of running at mid/back of the sbk field

There's a base fuel map, then offsets per cylinder to get the fuelling perfect and maximise power potential
Pathway and superstock this year just highlights what an antiquated, irrelevant championship BSB is when it’s £50k to go 0.5-0.8s faster.
