That first gear highway footage was hilarious! What a bike, and while I don't need that bhp and cannot justify that price it's good to know big red has produced it.
After riding the S1000RR at VIR (my first track experience and first superbike experience - thanks to the truly outstanding California Superbike School), I quickly crossed superbikes off my list of bikes I'd prioritize buying for street use. the Beemer was similar to the Honda in that it really doesn't wake up until it gets to around 8-9000 rpm... and even in first gear that's very close to or over any legal speed limit here in NY. I just don't think I'd do well with a bike that only comes alive when I'm breaking the speed limit (well... my license certainly wouldn't do well). Lovely bikes and it was an incredibly addictive experience to ride one at the track... but it just wouldn't work for me on the street... because of me.
lol yeah I got dinged for 70 in a 40 on an africa twin, simply passing two cars going 15mph off a light. Toooooooo easy to end up in license revocation territory.
that said having been on the honda and the bmw, the character of those bikes are totally different to each other, the bmw is easy to ride but kind of boring, where as the honda is painful but exciting. RRR is a giant R6
Agree a 100% with you and that's the reason why I bought a S1000R instead. Yes same block, but different cams, slightly different power delivery that can be used more realistically for everyday use, along with improved ergonomics
I know it's a bit of a joke in the comments here, but I rode a CBR1000RR to work for a decade every day. Even though I don't ride it anymore, I still think it was the perfect commuter bike for a very special set of circumstances. Those are: being in a state that allows lane splitting, heavy traffic jams and congestion, highways, as well as inner-city riding. The inline 4 is as smooth as butter, and you'll never be without engine- or braking power to get you out of sticky situations. I still recommend it for experienced riders with self-control in places like the SF Bay Area.
I am considering it , I have cbr650r , beautiful bike and pretty comfortable as I use it for daily commute to work, want a taste of litre bikes but I don’t know if discomfort will outweigh my excitement overtime on commutes
Thanks for taking the time to answer my question on why US doesn't bring base RRR and continue selling old RR! Basically, US literbike sales tanked and potential buyers are only interested in highly spec'd out WSBK equivalent models. Unfortunate, but that's the reality now.
I did the same started watching when he was doing the daily commute. Now have a MT-07, just keep it up and you'll get one. But definitely do the MSF course!
I have a 2021 triple r with 15,000 on it. I had a 2018 cbr rr I traded in with 32,000 and I love this bike way more. 6’1” 215 pounds and it feels comfortable to me. Put about 400 miles on it every weekend. Also have the Bren tune.
Just ordered one.... Wanted a blade since the late 90s and this is probably my last chance to own one so even though it's totally insane for road riding I need to scratch that itch at last. Great video really enjoyed it 👍
Ducati owner for the last 30 years, and I still think the sound of an inline four at high RPM sounds more special, and much more high performance than any other configuration; and this one sounds habanero special 🙂
I agree with you on the Lovers Lane comment. I do think SP should stand for 'Sans Pillion'. Some machine though and you got balls taking it down that gravel/sludge/waterlogged track.
So it's a stunning track day bike for the well off that is almost completely wasted on the road. Fireblade happens to be one of the best motorcycle names ever.
I wasn't sure if I wanted to take the time to watch this video. Watching Zach ride through the mud while discussing and adjusting the traction control made it totally worth it! Very cool bike but having to exceed pretty every speed limit just to reach peak torque in first gear means it's cool but not very effective on the street. It is, as they say, what it is. On the track, with an ECU flash, I bet it's bonkers.
Hi Zac im one of your fans here from Australia i love what you guys do and i truly value your opinion and love the reviews you do and i been watching the channel for years and just one thing can you please show on screen how many litres in a gallon or the KW power in HP because i believe alot of your views from outside the us are asking Alexa what that converts to :) keep up the good work guys we love it :) Saif

I love how the paint looks like the old Fireblade. Feels so good to look at. I enjoy it much more than the 2021 paint, which bothered me for some reason. EDIT: BTW, I have a 2006 Ninja ZX-10R , so that's 10 Rs, and a 2022 GSX1300RR Hayabusa, so that's 1300 double Rs. Still not as much as 1000 triple Rs, but I'm grateful. 😁
I would love to ride one of these sometime, but no way I'd ever own one (or a supersport like it) as a street bike. There are so many other bikes that are just as fast (on the street) but insanely more comfortable and practical.
They’re not as fast, and because you haven’t owed one, you don’t know that they are in fact comfortable. The ergonomics on a Fireblade are class leading.
So Jelous of your weather right now. Living in Northern England, we rarely see skies like that, never mind at the time of year. I love the CBR1000RRR SP, but it's a lot of money to spend on a bike just to put it in your living room and look at it. I'll stick with looking at my 2001 YZF-R1 😁
That’s normal to low on liter bikes. My buddies S1000RR does like 105 in first. I think pretty much every liter bike out there does 100+ in first. Hell even my “puny” Street triple 765 does 70 in first.
@@Daniel-dj7fh That’s around 87mph. Every liter bike (1,000cc RR style bike) I’ve seen in the U.S. (maybe they’re geared different?) all hit high 90’s or just a bit over 100mph in first gear.
@@cfltitan I must say I haven't really cared to check on that kinda details on this level of bike output in the past years. So it has probably changed. I might eventually take one of these for a testride on the Auotbahn or something, but I'm not gonna get myself a bike which is effectively no fun legally.
My 2004 Honda 1000RR would do 90 MPH on the speedometer in first gear. GPS said 81. Haven't tested my GSXR1000, don't have the need. It's plenty enough.
I have owned five CBR1000RRs, a 2002 CBR954RR, 2003 RC51, 2007 CBR600RR, and two Ninjas, one R6, and one GSXR too. This 2022 RR-R bores me because it is too focused. I was present in 2020 when they unboxed one of the first RR-Rin the US at Poway Powersports. The prior CBRs were motorcycles that I did pretty much everything on: Camping, track days, canyon chasing, overnight rides, and a lot of high-speed commuting in Southern California. If I knew Honda was going the "specialized" and "focused" way of some European brands, I would have kept my 954RR, RC51, CBR600RR, and my 2018 CBR1000RR. Instead, for the first time I bought a Triumph Speed Triple. My opinion means nothing except one motorcycle sale. In 1992 I was a teenager and when I saw the CBR900RR debut I felt like I was struck by lightning and I had to have one. Where is Tadao Baba when need him most? I was pretty much poor. I had very little money, so I sacrificed and drove a jalopy to afford his engineering marvels. Actually, decades later, I still own a jalopy but I have an awesome motorcycle! Come on Honda... reincarnate the RC51 and update the CBR600RR so I can buy one or two. I hate spending money on cars.

16:35 I've actually found this myself too, for twisty curvy street roads a sporty 300cc model can often be the most fun motorcycle to ride, gets much better fuel economy too.
Excellent stuff! I love the leaderboard. That will come in handy later in the year as I pick my zx10r replacement. Triumph Speed Twin 12 still at the top of my radar.
Get the speed twin 1200 I love mine! Immediately get it flashed though (dnktuneworks). My one gripe (besides suspension) is that it has.. a powerband stock. Pin the throttle and the power finally surges on after 4500rpm. Very uncharacteristic of a twin. Flashing the ecu fixes the lean fueling and brings it back to smooth even power throughout the rev range.
@@Dansk55 the newer. The front suspension is significantly better (they did tweak the rear a bit too), the flash fixes the eu 5 issue (and more hp!), And the brakes. Whoa the brakes. Steel braided radial mounted m50s. Amazing stuff. The paint is boring though. I added knee pads and it looks nicer. If you go to Dave's man cave channel, he turns his into a track weapon. Crazy the potential of this bike.
First of all, THANK-YOU for pronouncing Akropovic correctly ! Second, for such an expensive high tech bike, why oh why is there no fuel gauge ?! Lastly, you are very brave to take a bike like that on a dirt road, (with mud). I would not want to drop it, nor would I want to clean the mud off, afterwards. Thanks for your video !
One thing, regarding talking about the specs - could you do a thing, similar to what Doug DeMuro does - he tells the measurements in hamburger units, and then the metric value flashes shortly on the bottom of the screen. This would greatly help with consuming your great content 😄
My 650 is more than enough for the streets and I have never felt like I needed more power, and all it has is 72bhp. The only reason that I dream about this Honda is because it's so beautiful. Unfortunately, I cannot afford it. But I need to fix up my bike anyway so when it's running, I will be smiling from ear to ear and be too busy riding to think and look at new bikes :D
I was a big Honda supporter throughout my life. I had this very motorcycle on order (#1 in line a Honda Powerhouse dealer that DID have one assigned), but then, after around 9 months of waiting, they decided to just CANCEL half of the US orders without any real explanation-parts shortage?-or alternative or so much as an apology. It's especially painful to see people getting theirs when I feel so... disrespected. I've owned 4 other CBRs, but never again. Switching to a manufacturer that isn't such a jerk to their customers.
Braided lines are overhyped. Zach addressed it on the dot. 99.99% will not be able to take advantage of those. More of a bling than a necessary lap time reduction feature. Want actually better brakes, change pads. These daily rides are so well put together, I can handle watching the whole thing in spite of being 30+ min long. Next request! Drumroll! The all new Kawasaki ZX4R! The all new little green predator...
$29k for a bike hawt damn 💀 that’s wild.. here in PNW we only get like 3 full months of pure sunshine.. that bike would be in storage the rest of the time unless you like cold / wet weather conditions. Great vid miss my 600rr now that I’m here. Good ol days.
Funny it gets compared to spicy chicken wings. One thing about ultra spicy wings for me is the rush it gives in that moment. All your senses tingle, endorphins start rushing, and your body doesn’t know how to react. You might not love it in the moment, but after you kinda just want to try it again. Please consider where you R in the wing spice level when looking to get a CBR1000RR-R SP
Great video! I'm not a street bike fan, all though I'm forever a 46 fan. Not sure how I ended up watching this video, but it was cool to come along on the southern CA streets. Recognized many of the places. Rolling Hills (my old stomping grounds), PV Drive and Lomita Blvd. Not sure I would have opted for the dirt road by the rail tracks between Lakme and S. Wilmington. I love the PV, Torrance and Carson area. A lot of good eats! Cheers, mate!
Anyone has a clear explanation as to why does the US spec model have 186HP and the EURO Spec Model has 214HP? I've been doing research and found nothing about it in depth.
What a beautiful motorcycle. Three quarters of the bike never gets used on the street. I had to laugh because I came from your review of the SV650 to this one. Still, the massive rush of power that could be used on the interstate, like another commenter here said, that's too tempting to me. As if I had 30 grand to buy it. I still love this bike. All the lack of compromise in it. Well done Honda and nice review, Daily. (🤣riding a CBR1000 in the mud...go sit in the corner right now, Bad Daily.😂)
Hit the nail on the head: "rubber brake lines on a $30k bike?" - nope "Daily rider" - I appreciate zach's enthusiasm but he's also a decent actor. As a 6ft+ guy there's nothing particularly appealing about a pure sportbike during a commute: extra "responsive" suspension (adjustable but still hard on questionable roads), and uncomfortable riding position when you're sitting at lights. I'm sure it was a dream on the track, but for a commute: give me lower end torque in a more comfortable riding package (BMW boxer? Ducati multi, hyper, monster? Aprilia Tuono??)

Aprilia was the first manufacturer to add winglets to a production bike 😉 (2018 Aprilia RSV4 RF LE)
It's quite a nice beginner bike as you don't even need to know how to change gear to use it daily. Nice touch from Honda.
@@22Epicit’s Japanese too
As half of my commute is at night, being able to block lights in the mirrors with your elbows makes for a safer and more comfortable ride.
There you go, Fireblade is the best daily rider in 2023. Zack confirmed it
That first gear highway footage was hilarious!
You are wise. I agree.
that said having been on the honda and the bmw, the character of those bikes are totally different to each other, the bmw is easy to ride but kind of boring, where as the honda is painful but exciting. RRR is a giant R6
In the USA, the first thing you have to do to an S1000RR is flash away the tremendous ecu restrictions.
2023, would be great to have metric weights and measures. Text on screen, maybe... Please. Love your work
I get why. They are in the description so that's something, right ;)
I always need to google on the side what xy mpg translates to l/100km, of which 240km range is not alot lmao.
Thanks for taking the time to answer my question on why US doesn't bring base RRR and continue selling old RR! Basically, US literbike sales tanked and potential buyers are only interested in highly spec'd out WSBK equivalent models. Unfortunate, but that's the reality now.
Binging all these videos till I have enough money to buy a bike one day lol 😆
You too, huh?
I did the same started watching when he was doing the daily commute. Now have a MT-07, just keep it up and you'll get one. But definitely do the MSF course!
Me too, but it will be my 3rd bike. I'm just having Zach do the test rides
Buy a 125 grom or something no need for big bikes to have fun
That’s what you think. Till you get a bike and realize you’re going to be watching these until you’ve bought ALLLL the bikes
Great video really enjoyed it 👍
You already got it?
Why last chance?
@@TIMHARTTT either old age or EV push
Ducati owner for the last 30 years, and I still think the sound of an inline four at high RPM sounds more special, and much more high performance than any other configuration; and this one sounds habanero special 🙂
To me no question and I appreciate the sound of the V4 and it's growl lol.... but the I4 just screeeeeams
Tuono v4 sound is 🔥
I have both, and they are so different, but great. Only trick is to remember not to ride the duc like the 4 - it just doesn't work.....
Dude I really didn't think you'd take it onto the gravel!! Respect🤟
You must not know Zack 😂
You should check out his s1000 video, he took that thing mudding
What a mad lad, haha. He commits to the bit on a $30k bike 🤣
I cringed as if she were my own 🤣
I agree with you on the Lovers Lane comment.
I was so nervous watching you take this beauty through the dirt path 😆
That engine feels different because it is different! Extremely special valvetrain in that. This engine has some super serious go-fast potential.
The sound the bike made at 9:04 when Zack shifted up from 1st to 6th quickly. Eargasm
the cut the video, because it would probably sound not so good if he jumped 5 gears.
When you hear those types of Zack noises, its a serious machine. the Powerwheelie over 60mph was, like, wow.
This bike is mental! I don’t think I could even bring myself to ride it on the street 😅😂
Been some time since I rode a true sport/super bike but when I check my mirror my elbow automatically tucks in, muscle memory never forgets.
Hi Zac im one of your fans here from Australia i love what you guys do and i truly value your opinion and love the reviews you do and i been watching the channel for years and just one thing can you please show on screen how many litres in a gallon or the KW power in HP because i believe alot of your views from outside the us are asking Alexa what that converts to :)
keep up the good work guys we love it :)
Saif
Metric conversions for (almost) everything are always in the description of the video! 🙌
22:42 that dirt road done turned into the Dakar rally after a storm. Gosh that motorcycle is quiet, i like it
my CBR 650f has the same attitude with less punch of course. A power curve that just keep faster and faster, smoothly with no spikes or valleys in the power. Turns the Tach into a rage meter
CBR650F is no slouch, either. 👌
@@ammarharith5512 no she ain't, just keeps pulling and pulling and pulling. she's a little buzzy tho. first world problem
I love seeing sportbikes on Daily Rider
Omg, I would love to have that bike for the track! I love that Honda color scheme. It's my favorite of all time.
I was mountain biking in 27°+ (80's F) on Christmas day. SoCal has it's benefits 😁
99MPH in 1st gear 🤯
That’s normal to low on liter bikes. My buddies S1000RR does like 105 in first. I think pretty much every liter bike out there does 100+ in first. Hell even my “puny” Street triple 765 does 70 in first.
@@cfltitan 160kmh is quite high no? Isn't it usually 140kmh max in first for 1000cc ss-bikes?
Zack didn't mention it, but did it pass the stop sign challenge? It looked like it did, impressive!
It looked like he passed it, was abit wobbly but that's understandable I'd say.
Would love to see your track footage here on the RevZilla youtuber channel. (yes, I know you mentioned it's on instagram, but love watching these DR's on the 80" TV instead...)
Finally a real riders point of view and real review of this bike!
TH-cam is full of clickbait, waste of time nonsense of this bike.
Great video! 👍🏽
One of the few Japanese bikes I could get (after a bank robbery) and put in the garage.....just to admire.
It's beautiful! 😍

My major out take from this amazing video..
Order myself some spicy chicken wings right away!!
I have one myself and im from europe, i can clearly see the horsepower diference from that to mine. Overall, for me, its just the perfect bike for racing... not the best for daily use!
Sport bikes are the epitome of riding. Nothing cooler than a sport bike
Another great video, would absolutely love to see you on a CB1000R though
theres nothing like riding a superbike , RRR is a dream bike for sure.
Admittedly I just started watching you guys cause of the dumb and dumber ride. I loved the long way round documentary and always wanted more of that and you guys scratch that itch. Thank you
Hope you take the time to check out Zack and Ari's back catalogue of On Two Wheels episodes with Motor Trend and before that with Motorcyclist Magazine!
First you took the BMW into the dirt and now the triple r... how do you walk around with balls that heavy. MY GUY!
Chicken wings 🤣 Daily rider just keeps getting better and better. Thanks Zach 🥳
Still the FIREBLADE is a legend.. the most reliable.. the highest natural horsepower without supercharge.. the best refining engine sound.. i love this bike ❤ and don’t forget that “ the pure unbelievable acceleration is something everyone should feel at least once in their life, you can’t explain it but it’s one of the most amazing feelings in the world “
"Fireblade" definitely is one of the greatest non-cringey machine names of all time. 👍
You meet the nicest people on Hondas. Welcome back Zach!
Beautiful new brick wall, nice choice
Man I''m looking forward to the honda 2027 CBR1000RR-RR-RRRRR-R.
You forgot the sp 😁
“Good thing nobody at Honda watches these videos.” 😂
16:35 I've actually found this myself too, for twisty curvy street roads a sporty 300cc model can often be the most fun motorcycle to ride, gets much better fuel economy too.
all the reviewer say the ninja 400r or CBR 300r are ideal and enough for most people
Excellent stuff!
@@JelloThatsMellow Question is... get the one prior to Euro 5 or the newer?
@@Dansk55 the newer. The front suspension is significantly better (they did tweak the rear a bit too), the flash fixes the eu 5 issue (and more hp!), And the brakes. Whoa the brakes. Steel braided radial mounted m50s. Amazing stuff.
The paint is boring though. I added knee pads and it looks nicer.
If you go to Dave's man cave channel, he turns his into a track weapon. Crazy the potential of this bike.
Why dumping kawasaki?
Just get an H2 and have it flashed.... enough power for all but the criminally insane, and some degree of comfort to boot.
Interesting to note that it's more than 30hp down on the model sold in Europe. I bet there will be some "unlocking" going on :)
I work nights and motorcycle commute full time, using my elbows to block the big trucks headlights is the only way to not get mad at them constantly
Was this bike named by Pirates ?
That’s really nicely said. So many engineers and technicians from all over the world coming together for a singular goal.
it is inexcusable that a $29000 Sportbike doesn't have braided brake lines. I really like this bike.

Target fixation?
@@LaniakeaDenizen No pun intended, but looked like it.
One thing, regarding talking about the specs - could you do a thing, similar to what Doug DeMuro does - he tells the measurements in hamburger units, and then the metric value flashes shortly on the bottom of the screen.
This would greatly help with consuming your great content 😄
Rubber brake lines are steel reinforced, just not on the outside. Plain rubber would inflate like a balloon under braking pressure.
Zack that was such a fantastic chicken wing reference. Love it!
This has always been a dream fo me. I love my '06 RR but this is a completely different ballgame
Loved the chicken wing hotness analogies and rant. Really fun and well thought out. You should do the "chicken wing spicy level" in every video!
$29k for a bike hawt damn 💀 that’s wild.. here in PNW we only get like 3 full months of pure sunshine.. that bike would be in storage the rest of the time unless you like cold / wet weather conditions. Great vid miss my 600rr now that I’m here. Good ol days.
This thing is pretty far outside the realm of feasible ownership for me but I sure am glad it exists.
The ultra spicy wings are fun, in the moment, but I always regret them the next morning.
Beautiful bike and great video... Did you complete all stops signs without putting a foot down? 🤔
The first R is "Race" the 2nd R is "Ready = "Race Ready. The 3rd R is "Rubber Brake Lines." CBR1000 Race Ready with Rubber Brake Lines.
I have a twenty ten which I love ,, I really get off on the colors. Silver and orange, it's awesome. 9800 miles on it. I really baby it.
Love the commentary hand expressions caught by your shadow! Big fan...keep up the great work😊
Hit the nail on the head: "rubber brake lines on a $30k bike?" - nope
"Daily rider" - I appreciate zach's enthusiasm but he's also a decent actor.
Oh my goodness, love the 1st gear freeway ride. Made me laugh out loud. Great review Zach. Thanks
Have loved Fireblades ever since I was a teenager in the early 90's but have never owned one - one day!
All the way to 90 in first gear means it’s practically automatic for commuting!
A brand new reason to love your reviews....Star Wars!!!!
