I was able to do this job easily by following this video. The worst part was the bottom 10mm bolt. Much appreciated. Note: fuel pump power is on driver’s side on left hand drive models.
Thanks Will, we really appreciate your feedback. Yes, thanks for clarifying that. We have tried in more recent videos to just say left and right rather than passenger/driver side, as in this case the connector is on the left side regardless of which market the car is from. Thanks
Just a follow up I used a Fram filter and followed your instructions , did not disconnect the fuel pump. The procdure went great . Thanks for all the instructions.
Was able to change mine out today. If you don't run the fuel out of the system before starting the job, it's not a big deal because it only drips a little bit out of the lines anyway. Most of the fuel is in the filter, so you have sort of plug up the holes as you twist and rotate it out. Still want to be careful, though. Thanks for the video!
Thanks. It is surprising that my LC100 6 cyl engine, the recommended interval to change fuel filter is every 40000 km or 48 months. I guess countries play important role
Awesome videos, I’m looking at buying one and serving it myself! Keep them coming! Ps: can you do a video on that steering wheel replacement if possible!!!
Thanks for the feedback Michael. This steering wheel is from a Toyota Camry but there are other options. Your best bet would be to look through the 100 series Facebook group which has plenty of info on what fits and what is required to make the controls work. There are both hard-wired and Bluetooth options. Hope this helps!
Thanks for the feedback! Not really, no. But there are many factors at play. If you are having issues with high fuel consumption and have tried other things, this is a relatively inexpensive thing to try. Best of luck!
Hi, thanks for watching! We're not aware of any 1FE-HZ engine, but this fuel filter is unique to the V8 petrol engine shown, i.e. other 100 series Landcruiser engines use different fuel filter part numbers.
Hey mate. Have you had any charcoal canister dramas with your cruiser? I have a 100 series 2004 Kakadu. Having issues with fuel vapour venting from the fuel cap area.
My 2002 100series petrol also has fuel smell sometimes. I thought I may heave overfilled it. But now after stopping at the first click still getting fuel smell.
My son followed these instructions and replaced my fuel filter. Seemed to go well, but now it’s leaking fuel from around that green clip. Seems like there’s a fair bit of play there. Any suggestions?
Hi Larson, I'd start by looking at whether the correct part number was used for the fuel filter, as if the nozzle is a different size it won't seal at the connection inside where the green clip is. You could also look at replacing the green clip if it's not holding properly, as these are very inexpensive - part number 90923-07002.
Hi Dario, yes - there are multiple ways to disconnect power from the fuel pump and reduce the pressure. The method shown follows the factory service manual
Thanks for watching Seng! Our warranty and service manual shows that the fuel filter should be replaced every 80,000 kms (50,000 miles) or 48 months (4 years), whichever comes first. You can see a snapshot from that manual on screen right near the start of the video
I went ot official Toyota dealership after watching this video and asked for this filter and they said nobody changes this in Iceland😂 I had to order it imported it costs 65 euros.

Please post more LC100 maintenance and replacement videos. Thanks mate 🙏🏽
Thanks Sheshar, more to come on the 100 in the future!
Nice and easy. Well organized and straightforward. Just ordered my filter to DIY. Thanks!
Thanks for the feedback Jonathan. Good luck with the install!

Great video.
Very clear video. Thanks for putting it together.
Thanks Kamal, we're glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks that’s a great informative installation process. What type of steering wheel is that?

Great video. Any noticeable difference in fuel consumption?

Great instructional
Thank you!
Awesome impresive great lesson
Thanks Imran!
Hey there, nice tutorial, did get any change in power or fuel consumption by changing the filter out?
Hi Taha, there has been no noticeable difference in power or fuel consumption so far.
Почему должно что то изменится? Это просто фильтр
Excellet video! Question, if you don't mind: would be the FF's part number and activity be the same for TLC 100 with 1FE-HZ?

Hi Sam, now that you mention it I have noticed a fuel smell from that area from time to time. What kind of issues are you having?
My 2002 100series petrol also has fuel smell sometimes. I thought I may heave overfilled it. But now after stopping at the first click still getting fuel smell.
Where did you get that steering wheel?? Is this suitable for the 100 Series??

@@2ndGearLow Seems like the clip is clipping fine. Not sure on the part # for the unit we replaced. Seems like the right unit - except for this issue.
Can you do this on an 80 pls
Hi Paul, FZJ80 fuel filter is one we're planning to film in a future video. Thanks for watching
Couldn't you just take out the fuse for the fuel pump instead of disconnecting it?
Hi Dario, yes - there are multiple ways to disconnect power from the fuel pump and reduce the pressure. The method shown follows the factory service manual
@@2ndGearLow got it, thanks.
Nice Job! BTW how do you know when to replace it? Miles? or just Age?

That's very interesting Petar! Hope changing it goes better than buying it 😅
