Madseasonshow, this is the best "I quit" video I've seen. That ending is so hard to watch, so amazingly well edited. I quit WoW Classic about a year ago, never ran across your video's til I'd already bid adieu to Azaroth (again). I will say that as an OG player who started in original Vanilla....this video is on point in every way. As many of us step away from the game world we escaped into for all those years, its worth remembering that none of us ever did it to make Blizzard rich. We did it for the social interaction, the exploration, and the creation of a special place on the internet where we could get away from the BS of daily life. I'm glad Classic dropped, it sure as hell made 2020 easier to deal with....but no point in paying to watch Blizzard turn the game into an automated botnet that just pumps cash into their coffers as they do banwaves every few months.
A lot of the content creators quitting at the same time is more like a... eulogy. I think everyone is afraid to admit that we're grieving.

You used to be one of my most favourite TH-camrs. Four years ago I wanted to play Classic WoW, I even had intentions of streaming and creating content. Then, my life changed unimaginably. I love how much you shared your heart and passion for the game, while keeping the rest of your life private. That is a fine line to walk and I respect the way you do that. I used to be quite an excessive player about this time last year, but I think I decided to play casually not because of myself and the situations I had at the time with life, but I was starting to find how truly shitty blizzard was as a company. The first time I caught wind of this myself was the whole Blitzchung situation in 2019, since I’m a supporter of the HK protests and I managed to see them when I stopped off in HK for a few days on my travels in Asia.
This made me feel really sad, and makes me wonder if it has this effect on us, it must really hit hard on him. Thank you for all your time and effort mate. you help people with your content, to be able to reach emotions on a level you do is a true gift. I understand, I started playing Wow 3 months after it was released and this expansion I felt like it was more a chore than a pleasure to play, seeing all of the flashbacks to different times made me sad of letting go as well but that time has passed and we need to just be happy when we think of the good times we got to experience in its hay day.

This has been my favorite WoW related channel ever since maybe the end of WoD or early Legion and this video hit me a bit harder than expected.
I've never been more than a casual player, but I've been in love with the Warcraft universe, the characters and the stories. And in the moments when I didn't feel like playing, when the grind was overwhelming, when the shitshow was too big - I always had your videos to tide me over.
I know it's probably kinda weird to write so much, but thanks for all the vids, the dispassionate passion (lol) for WoW that you had and the stories you shared.

Never thought you'd leave, but honestly glad to see it. Blizzard has shown they don't care about their game anymore, so why should we? More content creators leaving seems like the only hope of the game/company ever changing, but even then I doubt it will.

I agree with you McCool, Blizzard will not change unless they see significant changes in the social ecosystem of their games. They know that players are leaving but when influencers do the same that means that a larger number of subs are going to be lost.
Sadly we have to see amazing people leaving the community, but I guess that being part of that community is becoming shameful for a lot of people.
I started watching this channel not long ago but if there is something im sure about, its that out of everything wow related on the entire internet i found that you, MadSeason, are the most entertaining and educating channel. Also aside from wow, seems like you're great person and i really hope you continue to be active beacuse i for one will watch all your videos. Thank you MadSeason.

I started in wow classic, played pretty spotty with my friend but when I did I'd always watch your videos to help pass the grind time, but after this one I'm glad I've found your channel and excited to see where it goes, thanks monotonegod

@@mappybc6097 I didn't know that much about what's going on as I have tried to just stay away from everything blizz related. It's a bit depressing.
I did however think about what I did hear and it hit me that the top men at blizzard, even way back, actually do give off harassment/bad boys clubhouse vibes. Even Chris Metzen, who I thought was the coolest nerd ever.
But if you think about it, you can just see most of them honestly doing terrible things. It's strangely not surprising.
You sir are a good man and I hope you prosper. I love the comments about not showing your face to make sure you still feel like you can be yourself and not share every detail of your life. Remember you are human and happiness outweighs any money or fame you could ever possibly achieve. I will be here to see any new content you release and thank you for your service in wow. So many amazing videos it truly is the end of an era.
I never really played wow for several years after coming across your videos back when you made your memories of vanilla series. honestly hearing you talk so passionately about your genuine love for the game, especially your videos about vanilla wow before classic was announced were all really entertaining to listen to while I worked. I know you joke about your monotone voice but it's genuinely relaxing to listen to for these types of videos. I wish you luck in your future endeavours whatever they may be and ill stick around regardless of your direction cause I know it'll be driven by the same love and passion you put into this stuff.
