UPDATE: First few days wearing any of these new GW5 series watches, you will notice battery may not last more than 1.5 days. If you look under battery settings it will say "Learning your usage patterns". After 2 days the watch will work as normal, giving you your full battery capacity and the message "Learning your usage patterns" will disappear. I have experienced this with GW4, GW5 and GW5 pro. So initially if you get a rubbish battery life, that is the reason. Just keep using it as normal for a few days and it will resolve itself. Thereafter battery life will be much much better. Hope this clears things.
Samsung is excellent at advertising false claims about battery life and I'm sure this watch will be no different. I'm all in on Sammy, so I'm not a hater. I'm just calling it as I've seen it for over a decade now.
Use to have the Galaxy Watch 3 never had a smartwatch for a long time. Now i have been doing many outdoor activities like running and cycling i need a watch again. I have been debating between the galaxy watch 6 and galaxy watch 5 pro now after watching your review i think the 5 Pro will better suited for my lifestyle.

Heck no, insist on the 5 Pro in the bundle; so instead of the 'free' Gal 5 watch that you aren't really happy with, you get the 5Pro for about $3-$4 extra per month. Got mine today pre ordered showed up today was meant to be delivered on the 26th the release day . Lucky me ! Traded in the frontier samsung had a deal on pre order and get £100 for old watch trade in. Not bad tbh for a 6 year old watch . Love the new 5 Pro and you will love it too .
But what about the GPS while walking, running etc? I keep reading bad reviews all over the internet and seeing the discounts on the watches, that is putting me off.
Good review in that you helped me decide whether or not to ditch my watch 3. Unless I break or lose my current watch, I'll wait another year to see what they come up with. Watch 5/5 Pro simply isn't worth it if you already have one of their older ones
@@stevester1983 yes I know. Also another pair of Buds. (Got 3 unopened in my house). Still means I spend £200 on something that in my case is no different functionally than my watch 3. Also no bezel, no sale. The current design means I'd leave finger prints all over my watch screen.

I had to decide between the fantastic rotating (and classy) bezel, or the battery lasting about 3x as long. After a week with both, I reluctantly choose 5pro for the battery life. I do miss the bezel, but I haven't had to charge the watch for days.
My use case is playing offline TH-cam music to bluetooth headphones while tracking an activity via GPS. It's asking a lot of the watch really. The CPU to decode the AAC file for the song, the data stream via bluetooth to the airPods and a data stream (or polling to be more exact) to satellites and processing that data for the activity, not to mention all the body sensor data it's processing in real time. Does the watch have the grunt to do that without music 'skipping' for example?

So now I need to return it but I will have to pay the restocking fee. I would keep it but I'm one of the ones that like the real bezel on the watch. It makes it looks so classy. The 5 pro is more like a sports watch. I would keep it but it wasn't cheap. I'm watching this video to see if I can somewhat justify it lol
The watch works well with my S10+ It delivers texts, messages, emails and calls exactly how I want. I work in a noisy environment so this is perfect for my needs and it's set to vibrate while I can keep my phone on silent. I get roughly 2 and a half hours battery life from full charge and that's brilliant. Does what it says on the tin 👍🏾

I get over 5 days with my usage on the OG. Most of the stuff (continuous heart rate etc) is gimmicky. I have some FOMO but not enough to buy this watch now. Will wait for the sales. Hopefully the new Tic Watch comes with wireless charging and LTE for Canada.
This is a review was very usefull. I have this watch and I am very happy with it. But I have one big problem, they don't work well with my phone. I am going to love the virtual bezel. The rotating of the bezel on the original watch jammed and I grew to rapidly hate that feature. It's going to be configuration that's going to be the nightmare, there is so much stuff and ALOT I don't need! Love the full titanium design and sapphire glass. Most importantly is the length of time it can go before needing a charge, the Active 2 was truly terrible, way to short! Recieving my watch very soon and configuration...well that's going to take some time!

As of April, there is no BPM in the U.S. The watch has a temp sensor, but that is also not yet in use in the U.S.

I keep on viewing Galaxy watch 5 videos mostly to convince myself to upgrade, but without the rotating bezel, it's difficult to be convinced.
It is not the useless bezel that counts, it's the overàll performance and specs that matter.
I have to say I love the rotating bezel too! But I've just ordered one ! And I'd love one to have one with the bezel!

It should calculate calories for every exercise. You can view the reports after the workout is complete.

For real world use I have found no issues with accuracy. It is nearly on par with Apple Watch.
