Two things I feel like Butcher and Homelander are overlooking: Butcher: The virus doesn't have to instantly kill Homelander, just make him weak; it doesn't have to be super-Covid, super-AIDS works fine. Homelander: Not all supes would be willing to work for him in his plan because they have some semblance of a conscience or they realize how insane this all is. Also, most of the Seven just left of their own choice. Not to mention all the people being killed (probably by Homelander) or just fired.
Yeah the old black noir and stormfront (the first one because he was more of a robot who simply followed orders while the latter is self-explanatory) were two of the few supes that completely agreed with his plans and didn't questioned him, I feel that what homelander would need to do is try to recruit supes who actually rocks with his worldview 100% without any question instead of trying to convince or blackmail neutral people to work for him. They don't breathe air since they don't have the structures needed for the gas exchange (aka lungs) but there is a bit of gas exchange through their skin by osmosis as long as it's wet even though it's not enough to sustain them for any important length of time, I'm thinking it was more likely a mix of hypoxia + ammonia poisoning + stress from the really poor quality water (I don't remember seeing her tank having any way of inputting oxygen and difusing it in the water) + stress from their discussion + stress from how Kevin broke her tank suddenly and possible wounds sustained by the glass since aquariums are often made with standard glass, not tempered

My issue with Butcher right now is him not trying to get to know at least the bare minimum about his Sentient Parasite. -Like why is it helping you try to make a Supe Killing Virus when the only reason it's so intelligent and powerful is because of V? -Why is it so friendly when it's actively killing him? Wouldn't it die off as well? -Can he just feed on other people as a way to buy time? Perhaps on the Ved up Supes he's constantly around? -What happened to the Becca part of him? Octopi generally can be out of water for a while, I feel this scene actually played out longer than it seemed and Deep was actually sitting there for however long that was listening to her death cries which to him felt like 5 minutes due to his shock & stress. It was weird how they kept cutting to different angles of his face like that and suddenly she was gasping again. Stress and shock can make you experience moments of spacing and temporarily lose track of time.

They don't breathe air since they don't have the structures needed for the gas exchange (aka lungs) but there is a bit of gas exchange through their skin by osmosis as long as it's wet even though it's not enough to sustain them for any important length of time, I'm thinking it was more likely a mix of hypoxia + ammonia poisoning + stress from the really poor quality water (I don't remember seeing her tank having any way of inputting oxygen and difusing it in the water) + stress from their discussion + stress from how Kevin broke her tank suddenly and possible wounds sustained by the glass since aquariums are often made with standard glass, not tempered

Octopus can actually survive a while without oxygen. There's also been stories of them climbing out their tanks, moving to a different tank and coming back. They're super intelligent.
There are many comparisons with butcher and the punisher whereas in the Thomas Jane movie, the punisher hid weapons all over his apartment just like Butcher has weapons all over the office. Turns out that the punisher was the influence for butcher character in the comics.

Octopi generally can be out of water for a while, I feel this scene actually played out longer than it seemed and Deep was actually sitting there for however long that was listening to her death cries which to him felt like 5 minutes due to his shock & stress. It was weird how they kept cutting to different angles of his face like that and suddenly she was gasping again. Stress and shock can make you experience moments of spacing and temporarily lose track of time.
