i have been painting furniture before the trend...and i never can understand why waste time in cleaning if you are going to sand it...after sanding the piece is when u must clean it up very good and then paint.
Hi, Lolita! Everyone has their own way of doing things. I clean my pieces for several reasons: 1. Cleaning with a degreaser gets old wax, dirt, grime, grease, or oils off my piece so that when I sand, I don’t grind those unwanted pesky things into my grain, which might interfere with my primer and paint and possibly effect adhesion. I definitely clean after sanding, too! 👍🏻 2. Pieces are nasty and dirty a lot and I don’t want to work on them with the nastiness. Just me. 3. If I can clean off a lot of those things, I save on getting my sandpaper sheets gummed up with oil it grease or grime and they last longer. 4. I like to clean the inside and outside thoroughly, so my customers know they are getting a clean, disinfected piece. 😊 Anyway, those are a few of my reasons for how I do it, but everyone has their own process. Thanks for watching and commenting 😊
