  • An enlarged prostate (also known as Benign prostatic hyperplasia) is a relatively common condition that increases in prevalence as men get older. Certain dietary and lifestyle choices can influence the growth of the prostate, the progression of prostate enlargement, and subsequent risk for prostate cancer. In this lesson, we discuss these diet and lifestyle modifications in order to prevent and reduce prostate enlargement, reduce symptoms of an enlarged prostate, and reduce risk of prostate cancer.

So much inconsequential information given here it's ridiculous. I have had an enlarged prostrate and big problems peeing. Was given meds by my doc which were useless, lots of flow tests then told I needed an operation to cut out part of my prostrate to ease flow. Whoa!!! I looked on YT and found Dr Berg's channel and Stefan Ekberg's channel (Former Olympic Athlete). I cut out diary, cereals and wheat, started eating cruciferous veg a lot more regularly, I ate it several times a week anyway but now more frequently. Started eating walnuts and pistachios, more beetroot. Still no milk or cheese and DEFINITELY no white bread or processed pastries. Started IF intermittent fasting (I am NOT fat) and after a few days to one week I could feel relief. Peeing became easier and after a couple of months I'm back to normal like I am 19 again peeing like a water cannon!!!! So the problem is with dairy and oestrogen and high carb diets leading to high insulin levels. Cut out diary and carbs especially stodgy carbs found in processed foods. I hope this helps other men who are suffering. It was agony at the time. I was going many times during the night and day but just could not pee. Now back to normal can sleep the whole night through. I eat meat, red meat. Doesn't have any affect on my prostrate. I don't drink alcohol or smoke. I am other wise very active, fit and slim.

Absolutely true. This video is bullsh*t. This is what the mainstream thinking is and it's all a lie. Berg is right. It's almost always about insulin. In fact, almost all our disease is caused by our unnatural diet. While I'm not huge on the cruciferous vegetables, I will eat some but when I'm doing keto with I.F, I stick to saturated fat and protein mainly. I also have an enlarged prostate but it's not really bad, it's gotten better with the keto diet. Before, I used to drink a lot, including beer and also ate junk food with it and that was just a double whammy.
So getting the insulin and blood sugar under control is key to dealing with almost any problems you might have. Even older people with dementia or Alzheimer's can be saved if they go on a high fat, moderate protein diet because that is our natural diet. We are obligate carnivores. We're not meant to be eating so much plant based foods and especially not processed foods that are made from plants ultimately. This is why we have obesity and diabetes. It's not just that people eat too much; it's what they're eating that causes hormonal imbalance.

    • @axelfoley20
      @axelfoley20 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

@@wattienewton5447 Those vegetables, in moderation, can be okay but for optimal health, increase your saturated fat, cholesterol and protein. You can do this by eating more eggs, beef and cook with butter. The mainstream belief is totally wrong. Saturated fat and cholesterol is what we're made of and eating dietary cholesterol will not raise your serum cholesterol. Sugar/carbs and seed oils (margarine) are what increase your serum cholesterol and clog your arteries because they oxidate quickly and release free radicals that damage your arteries. Then the body sends cholesterol there to heal the cuts in your arteries and that is why the common belief is that cholesterol is bad but it's not really.
It's there to help. It's the sugar/carbs/starches that do that. Some vegetables are more starchy than others so be careful. Also, spinach is very bad for you because it has oxalates and oxalates can harm your kidneys. See, another lie is that vegetables are good for you; they're not really. They can be useful as a cleanser, especially in juice form but really when you eat them, anything in them that would be beneficial is trapped in the fiber and our bodies just get rid of it because we cannot digest fiber. So juice your vegetables and you'll get some nutrients from them. If you like eating them, cook them well! Never eat them raw, especially onions or broccoli/spinach.

It's complete nonsense to stop eating carbs. WHOLE food carbs are good for us. I was Vegetarian yet suffered a terrible, painful enlarged prostate so then I changed one thing: I stopped all dairy, and was cured in a very short time. That was 12 years ago and I'm near 60 now with no more problems as long as I keep out the dairy.

I commented the same exact thing. You left out eating leaves. Other doctors say to cut out sugar, even fruits. Now there really isn't anything left. Oh, and the doctor that said to cut out fruit encouraged eating meat. So, these guys don't have a clue and are just throwing this in our face.
One guy said to eat thistle extract, pumpkin extract, etc. It's the same nonsense that I used to see on those infomercials for body cleansing systems. Those aren't advertised on TV anymore either. I can figure why. People probably got sick from it.
They have no idea and just throw this garbage at us making themselves think they sound like they know what they're talking about.
I may go with mineral supplements. That's it.

When you think about it if you're eating products coming from a 2000 pound animal and what they're feeding at animals adds to the hormone imbalance in the person. There are plant-based proteins and greens that are good to alkalize the body. There's vegetables and moderate fruits. Vegetables have protein is plant-based protein which is a better diet for those who have enlarged prostate. An organic meal replacement that is non-GMO and plant-based is the best way to change your diet. Sunwarrior is a good product and ancient nutrition

Hey everyone! I understand the confusion as to which foods not to consume as it appears that high consumption of almost everything is associated with prostate enlargement (or worsening symptoms associated with an enlarged prostate). When making this lesson, I wanted to ensure that all possible evidence on the topic was at least mentioned in this lesson for completeness sake, but I do realize that it has caused confusion. My apologies for the confusion. Again, these data are associations, and do not imply causation. From these studies, it appears best to reduce red meat consumption, consume more plant-based dietary options, and avoid processed carbohydrates (ex. starches). Likely a mediterranean diet would be very good for prostate health (and overall health in general).

For example, I only drink lemon hot water in the morning and my first meal of the day happens at around noon or 1 pm, and my second meal of the day happens at 6-7 pm, but no later. That means that by the time I eat again the next day, I would have fasted for 16 hours or more…

jack - similar ideas occur in dr gundry's book 'plant paradox' ... among other reasons is one i do recall , others are bio-chemistry
level..... this one is 'you are what you eat' . and reflects that the diet cows are fed are meant to rev up their meat and milk
making metabolism ... hormones etc. and it all ends up in the meat and milk both. so you end up consuming their
      growth medicines.
the idea may take a while to really sink in . depending on how established your habits are. ...
you can be in for a struggle to switch over to healthier foods.
i've been on this path for 2 months now and the effort is large. i mess up often. yet am making gains.
the wise among us recommend giving yourself time and acceptance for not doing well right away .
your comment about a decrease in 'night flights' with less use of milk is notable. and something i will try too.
for now my milk is the 'a2' variety ( c/o gundry 's book ) . and yogurt & cheese are on his 'NO' food list.
yogurt has been dropped but not cheese. that one is a toughie.
one success is dropping butter for Ghee. so far so good. plus ghee does not need refrigerated.
its good to remind yourself of the little steps you've taken and stuck with.
a CT scan of my abdomen last month led to a radiologist report of having an enlarged prostate.
yet the blood PSA is in range ok. yet via u-t vids most all foods known to contribute to this
condition are consumed regularly and have been for a long long time.
gundry mentions many patient cases of others in the same fix. life-long awful eating habits
whose cumulative effects are reversible. he is a believer. his own story gets mentioned too.
the question that arises is does the person who learns this information believe they can change.

Take prostate ailment very very seriously ! Don't undergo surgery if your prostate is not cancerous . The best is avoidance of foods that cause enlargement of your prostate . Some doctors will only discuss the operation because they will make large amount of money once you undergo prostate operation . Once your prostate is cut you will be deprived of erection and that is forever because there is no prostate transplant . Had I known this before I would not have my prostate cut . In the event that you can not urinate because of prostate enlargement , the remedy is simple just but a catheter and lubricating jelly and insert it in you penis and instantly you can urinate and you can instantly engage in sex but if your prostate is cut even if you take tons of Viagra your penis will not wake up !

I ditched the prescribed medicine and switched to Saw Palmetto capsules high strength one a day because my prescribed medicine made me feel a bit sickly which has been a huge benefit.
They take a couple of days to work and I get them off Amazon. I gave up most dairy 5 months ago especially cheese and that seemed to help further.. I rarely get up at night now . I have a sneaking feeling that gym workouts with weights help as well so I do that as much as I can. Ive tried not taking the Palmetto for a couple of days and symptoms creep back so they do work for me.

It's bs. The reality is that anything you eat that raises your blood sugar and then your insulin is actually the real culprit but there is too much profit to be made by selling us processed foods that are high in sugar/carbs. They even recommend to diabetes patients a diet high in carbs so the health system is completely compromised and run by big pharma and agri. Doctors are trained by the same people who run the biggest corporations as they either own the med schools or they sit on the board of them. I'm talking the Rockefellers, Rothschilds, Morgans. These people run everything from the banking system to government and all the corporations feed from their trough. So we can't trust anything really.
Science is compromised. Government is compromised. Medical services are compromised. If you want to be healthy, do the opposite of what they say to do. Cut out grains/sugars/carbs or lower them. Increase saturated fat, protein and cholesterol. People who live the longest eat mostly animal products and very little plant based food. And since almost all the processed food is a derivative of plants, that tells you what to avoid. Enlarged prostate comes down to insulin resistance and hormonal imbalance as testosterone goes down, estrogen goes up and estrogen will make things grow. Hence, enlarged prostate. But it can be shrunk. Just cut out the sugar/carbs and fix the hormonal imbalance called insulin resistance.

Over the last couple of months my girlfriend and I started working out and decided to start drinking whey protein supplements. Within only about 3 weeks to a month in, i started noticing that my prostate had become enlarged enough that i keep getting up in the middle of the night and mornings to go urinate, but the prostate is blocking the flow. I've often seen that protein shakes from these supplement companies can cause cancer. Whey protein comes from dairy or cows milk for those of you who do not know. Needless to say, i quit drinking these dairy shakes and prostate seems to be doing a little better after a couple of weeks off. I wont be taking any more chances since my grandfather passed away from prostate cancer that metastasized to his bones.

Keto high protein diets with meat are supposed to help bph or carnivore diets too.

Thank you for this awesome video. I am actually a believer in natural treatment. My father suffered from BPH and had several surgeries unfortunately, no cure. It was all expensive procedures which exposed his health to risk at 68 years of age. Read reply to know how he found help.

Are corn tortillas or low card flour tortillas an acceptable option to starchy foods? I didn't see them profiled. Looking forward to your comment. Thank you.

Ok, so for men living in Tucson, Arizona where the heat is exceptionally high in the summer months, doctors recommend higher consumption of salt….how do you explain that to combat high weather temp and dehydration.

So protein is bad. Bread, dairy, pasta etc is also bad. And alcohol. One may as well just eat everything.

I had BPH and was prescribed Solfenacin by my doctor, and my BPH cleared up within 6 days. I was also referred to a specialist who confirmed that it had gone. I live in England so the medicine Solfenacin may be called something else where you live. Take care.

I'm pretty sure the same dietary prohibitions apply to women and breast cancer too. Bottom line: Life is the major cause of death.

With all these foods are prohibitive like rice, bread, and dairy products, is there anything left for us to eat? We may not die of prostate cancer, but surely of hunger and starvation.
