    Great vid!
    The Screen Off Fingerprint Unlock is a Pixel 9 exclusive because they have an ultrasonic reader, while all other Pixels use optic scanners that require the screen to be lit up brightly to see the fingerprint, so it's a technical reason for the feature missing in older models (unless somebody who knows more can prove me wrong!)

      Ah, that makes sense. It's working fine on my 9 xl.

      Other phones that only have optical fingerprint recognition also have this feature why only Pixel can't do it, google can just light up the fingerprint recognition area instead of the whole screen just like nothing phone and Samsung A series.

    • @soa0086

      No , thats not true. Every phone maker with either optical or ultrasonic fingerprint have the option to unlock the display when screen is off. Google had that feature in Android One. I don't know why they dont use it. It is really easy to be implemented. Also the optical fingerprint do need light to work , but you have an oled screen. That means you can light up only pixels concerning the fingerprint area. Check other phone makers fingerpring like xiaomi , oneplus , samsung. They all have. Google is just lazy and don't know how to make a phone , take thsi words from a person who had many pixels in his life time and continuous to have.

      When pixel 6 first launched i can use the fingerprint scanner even with the aod off when battery saver is enabled. Then they removed this in the future android version

    I bought Pixel for Pixel exclusive features but now it feels like I haven’t received any OS update since android 13 whereas other skins on top of respective android versions like 14,15 have provides multiple new features.

  • @binku09
    @binku09 4 วันที่ผ่านมา +6

    3:20 Might be because of the ultrasonic fp scanner on the Pixel 9 instead of the optical scanner on Pixel 8 and below. I still don't see why it's not possible for optical scanners, so they might be working on turning on the screen pixels in the scanner area right now for the older pixels, and that's why the latest phone has this feature already since it's a different technology which google now prioritizes

  • @sameerasw
    @sameerasw 4 วันที่ผ่านมา +12

    3:25 it's prolly because only the 9 series packed ultrasonic fp instead of optical which rely on screen illumination.

      @@rayyanefekkak That's very different firmware tho... Pixel handles screen off interactions to firmware and kernel and afaik Samsung leaves that to software... but it would be nice to see this gets implemented...

    I'm getting very tired of the pale colour options on Android since "Material You" became a thing. It's definitely not Material Me, it's more like "Material Granny". Also, pretty much all of the lock screen options are ugly. We need better looking UI already.

    I went to the boot loop as well, all that you can do is unenroll from the Android 15 beta program, wait for some time.
    Then the Android 16 QPR Beta 2 update will come up instead of Android 15 updates while you're on Android 16.

    • @aarshps
      @aarshps 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      And Google has a slot updation logic, so boot loops get resolved on its own, just wait for the 4-5th reboot.
      It'll automatically slot back to the earlier version.

      Google is currently working on it. You can google "16KB page sizes Android 15" to learn more. We should see performance boosts across the board, like faster app launching, smoother performance, and reduced power draw, when it is officially released. But much of the stuttering you're experiencing may be due to app optimization by the developers. For example, the Reddit app is very poorly optimized, although it slowly getting better with each update by reddit. This can be a huge challenge for developers as well, because there are too many types of Android phones out there.

    Material UI is so boring and kinda ugly tho, I hope they make more in depth icons and UI. They still tryna do the ugly flat iOS 7 stuff even Apple moved on. It looks outdated. Still no icon pack support for Pixel Launcher still annoys me too. Also the square ugly bars in the notification center now expanded to the Settings page.. i hate that they cut down at the bottom and extend with the next text underneath. It looks unpolished I have no idea who does the UI in Android but that person needs to go

      I really fw material ui ,the animations, the smoothness, the whole phone being able to choose colors out of a wallpaper and go with it on the whole phone, thats the 1st reason I choose a pixel after a xiaomi, even on that I flashed pixelos(custom rom cus didnt get updates anymore i was stuck on android 13) I got tired of weird android skins tbh.

      Some people like Material You. They have old iPhone users who switch to Pixel and they have no problems with the UI. Can Google allow more customization yes Material You UI is not the worst thing out there

    • @asteriacl
      @asteriacl 4 วันที่ผ่านมา +10

      Yes, there are areas for improvement and which design is better are based on personal preferences. In my opinion, I love Material UI's design for its simplicity and consistency throughout (except for the themed icons, I hope they can force all apps to support it 😮‍💨). I love how I can choose a three-color palette that gets applied throughout the whole OS. The harmony of those preselected colors is gorgeous. And the way colors are selected based on my wallpaper, every time I change it, it feels like the identity of my whole OS changes as well. It's like a world of colors.
      Nowadays, all other Android skins copy iOS, as they always have. With all having the same design, that is boring to me. I don't want Google to do that. I want it to be different and have its own identity. The way iOS looks is good as well, but it's not my type of design. Each icon, wallpaper, and OS element feels like a different entity, whereas Material UI makes everything feel like it is all part of the same entity because the colors all change together (especially with themed icons).
      Honestly I love how iOS and other Android Skin looks, but I love the uniqueness and the beauty of Material UI. I want Material UI to improve and evolve while keeping the essense of Material UI.

    Quiero comentar, que bloqueen la barra de notificaciones/control cuando el pixel esté bloqueado.
    Ahora con el teléfono bloqueado se puede apagar, desplazando la barra dos veces o activar el wifi o cualquier característica.
    Samsung, en su sistema no te deja apagar el móvil o quitar el wifi si el teléfono esta bloqueado.
    También, decir que añadan un software nativo, para que las apps tipo WhatsApp o Telegram, se requieran huella o lector fácil, antes de entrar.
    Por favor, darle like, para que Google, android lo cambien en la versión 16.

Recently they made the settings page ugly with the notification bars. It looked much sleeker before. Animations are inconsistent, still no bounce when u scroll up or down instead it stops abruptly.
