I ran from Victoria B.C. Canada on Vancouver Islands to Cape Briton and back for like 12 years. I have seen every type of accident involving vehicles possible and I have been in several near misses myself. Taken video of most since the start of digital cameras had a little cannon camera with an SD card on my dash. That camera took hours of what took place out on the road coast to coast for 12 years in all seasons. I thought of putting together a couple of Calendars of Accadents for all seasons. Most I could not put together can't or reason or from the direction the vehicles were originally traveling. But from what I see people are not focused on the one job they have when they are behind the wheel. That being driving. That takes up all your skills.
You described the white B-double you followed as an "empty woodchip" truck. I reckon it could have been a loaded biomass (wood waste pellets) truck en route to the US via Osoyoos. I encountered such trucks when I was last in that part of BC. Fantastic countryside!!
I used to drive often from Surrey to Castlegar always with heavy loads. Eventually, I lost control with the truck in winter time going downhill about 8 km west of Sunday summit. That's where this 9% grade hill is with the two pull outs. After I had the accident, they closed the road for an hour and had a sand truck sand the road. The next winter I was afraid again of losing control going downhill. I didn't feel safe. The crews that maintain the roads don't always put sand. Now. I stopped working in the mountains although I love this job. I work in the city of Vancouver. I hate the traffic, but at least I'm not in danger of losing control.
Yea, I know that can play with your mind once you've ditched one. I've ditched 1 with no damage, rolled another with so little damage, I drove that fully loaded lumber truck back to the mill to get the load straightened out and then kept driving that truck for years.
Good to see you are still up and about as i must have been missing you some how thinking you had given it away. Nice quiet run for you and yes we have the same issue here in Aus with road work signs being left out and by law they are still to be adheared to if you get and over zealious cop he will book you even as i was once 3 am on a weekend sunday morning. Yes as well we do have a lot of extra long RVS here that toe a second vehicle so they can get out and about doing some exploring and just use the RV as a home base. keep up the good work love seeing your travelled roads over there be safe at all times. Aussie Bob.
So youtube does that, even if subscribed, youtube won't show you everything video. What I do with my favorite channels is book mark them and manually check them daily for the new video. Glad you're back.
Temporary construction zones are only supposed to be maximum 2km from reduced speed sign to sign. When drivers don't see anything happening soon, they speed up.
Mmm. that sure looks like the same red Peterbuilt you passed @36:00 on the “I hike the Hope slide” video. Big chrome visor. Sure love this mountain route. 🤙 🏔️🤙
Like you, I find the sound of a river or creek very relaxing. However, we camped at the campsite close to that rest area once and set up the tent about 20 ft. from the river. I slept like a log, but my wife, who is super sensitive to some things, couldn't sleep at all.The sound of the running water was just to0 much stimulation for her. Now we only camp beside calm lakes. Yes, there was a cafe on that point above the falls, but I never stopped there.. I guess that explains why it's no longer there.
That's interesting, I can't sleep without noise. When it's too quiet, I have to play a thunderstorm on my phone. Luckily Jess is the same and at home there's a thunderstorm in our bedroom every night.
35:29 I used to have a car caddy to pull my car behind our old rv. Once we got set up at the campsite, it was very awkward to drive the RV into town for shopping. The little car came in quite handy for that.
Good morning Juan, 51 degrees in eastern Oregon, you can tell summer is over. That is hard to look at truck all bent up, do you know if the driver is ok, trucks can be replaced, people not so much.
I have been driving class 1 since 1989 and the quality of drivers has gone down significantly. There are always the good ones but the new drivers just don't have the proper training.
Here in BC, we have to go through the MELT program now. Way better training the even I got. Mandatory school was a good idea. the only problem is that it now costs $13,000 to get class 1's.

I bet, when you're on the road that long you see a lot. Unfortunately I've seen a few bad ones too.
the quality of drivers has ebbed since my driving days in the 60s 70s and into the 90s
I think there os just a lot more distractions and bosses high pressure with just in time delivery these days

These trucks ate usually empty one way
You right, it could have been wood chips, sawdust, or biomass which the industry calls "Hog"
Driver must have fallen asleep.
No skid marks on the pavement.
Absolutely beautiful road to drive!
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
I really enjoyed walking with you handicapped as I am, right into the water. Thanks so much for this tour brother.
Awesome, I'll try to do it more when the opportunity is there.

Having a hard time keeping the W900L straight. Truck is dancing all over the road. Great video and beautiful scenery.

Hi Aussie Bob Linda from Australia 🇦🇺
Temporary construction zones are only supposed to be maximum 2km from reduced speed sign to sign. When drivers don't see anything happening soon, they speed up.
That's AIM for you.
15:20 He was going too fast through those last turns, and his weight threw him out of control.
Or he got cell reception, and was playing with his phone.
Looked like he lost ot on the left hander, over corrected, and went over on the right hand turn. Just way to fast
Mmm. that sure looks like the same red Peterbuilt you passed @36:00 on the “I hike the Hope slide” video. Big chrome visor. Sure love this mountain route. 🤙 🏔️🤙
Thanks for taking us to the rivers edge. It is very refreshing and relaxing
Glad you enjoyed it, I always worry people will complain about my little walks before the driving.
I enjoyed our video thankyou ☺️

Cement guardrails are short so snow can get thrown over them.
Good point
Watching now full support

Apparently, that is a Canadian and USA thing. No where else in the world do RVs pull cars. I see bigger RVs pulling Jeeps and even full size Pickups.
Hey Juan, I hydroseeded that section from Sunday Summit to Just past Saturday Creek years ago. Looking good 👍
I have no idea what hydroseeding is.
@@JuanRempel Sure you do. How many times have you driven through a highway construction site and it looks like they painted the ground green?
Ahhhhh
@@JuanRempel ahhhhhh, now you get it? Haha good man 👍
At 16:40 there used to be a couple cabins on the left. It’s a shame the highways dept tore them down. Someday I’d like to stop and explore there
Yea, I wish more of history got preserved
sure is a snakey road.🤩👍👍
Welcome to BC Canada, we don't have the luxury of straight roads
A real treat with super 'B's. Not so much with a 53' single trailer.
Its raining here , heavy showers on and off. Its nippy too, 16c.
Why am I keeping up to him...probably 5 times the aerodynamic drag on that beaver biscuit train compared to your set of decks Juan.

Beautiful fall colours coming in too
@@JuanRempel Yeah except my replacement knees start aching, oh well.🙂
Enjoyed this video
I see that Grand Forks is very smoky from a nearby Washington fire.
Yup, that fire was fanned by some high winds at the start. Thankfully the winds calmed, temps dropped, and some rain fell overnight. 🙏
New AZ driver in Ottawa. BEauty river spot you found. Where was it? Id love to dip a few pans
Manning park in BC, and the Similkameen river has its share of gold.
Was the water freezing cold?
No, it was cold, but not to cold to jump into it.
Just imagine how much gold is there.
We would be rich if we knew where to look
See you next time Juan 👋
They ran out of potholes to install. Thanks for the ride! It has been a lot of years since I was last in BC.

G'day Juan
Hope the driver of that truck is OK. Do you wear seat belts?
Yea, seat belts are mandatory. I I think most drivers wear them.
Drive
🤟💚🚛💚👏👃
