World's Sharpest Amethyst Knife

- I made the world's sharpest amethyst knife using a 60,000 PSI waterjet and some diamond encrusted tools. Then I put it to the test.
Are you or anyone you know going through a divorce? If so, i'm sorry to hear about it, but we'd love to help divide the assets.

The reason the diamond wheel didn't work right is because they are meant to be used with a cabochon machine that applies a constant stream of water. If you plan to do many more stone and mineral knives I would suggest that you invest in one. May get a lot better results.
also it wobbled like there is no tomorrow...
thanks for the tip!
@@WaterjetChannel maybe if you get one you can retry making this someday
@@WaterjetChannel knife not that good 😢
Your not a sapose to grind minerals period lol. Also that Diamond wheel had giant chunks of diamond made for roughe material, not fine.
Better video title would be: "unhinged man tries to make an amethyst knife and fails horribly"
Or maybe "amethyst knife, the story of how a low effort meme suddenly became high effort sharpening for days on end"
Yeah, he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer.
@@FLPhotoCatcher hahaha
Man goes back to beginning of tools and cuts vegetables with a rock

I like how it grinds through the tomato at a very slow rate with a ton of audible feedback… so sharp…
So soothing.
The tomato is almost sharper than the knife
@@ratzoeira LMFAO.
Fun fact. The way Dimond stones are produced, they come at a coarser grit then what they say they are. It's almost like a break in procedure, sharpening will knock the high spots off, not the rest of the grit though
Its definitely the sharpest amethyst knife ive ever seen
I was gonna leave a like but funny numbers
Bath n Body works employees watching and unhinged man disturbed by the mighty powers of amethyst (he hasn't taken his meds)
This channel is so good its transformed from "lets put random stuff in water cutter" to zainy wacky adventures.
Disclaimer: my hatred of geologists is purely theatrical, but if I did have to kill one for some reason, it would be very easy.
I’d brandish my amethyst knife at them and they’d be compelled to approach. “That’s very cool,” they’d say, confident in their superior strength and endurance from all the rocks they carry around at all times. They’d shower me with very interesting facts about amethyst and hover just out of range of the cutting edge, waiting for me to exhaust myself. “But as it is but a piece of quartz, it’s very fragile, you see, and isn’t well-suited for use as a weap-” and then I’d hit them with the wooden baseball bat in my other hand, which they would not have noticed because geologists can only see rocks and minerals.
But then the geologist mysteriously avoids the bat.
"Humph, you thought you could get me with that wooden bat did you?" He pushes his glasses onto his face as he suddenly also appears behind you. The one in front is merely a reflection from a large crystal that had tricked you. "You see I'm a geologist who also specializes in petrified and opalized wood specimens. You and that bat of yours are about 20 million years too young to catch me off guard."
This is the most underrated comment on the platform
@@leonardodicaprio5402 TH-cam shadowbans my comments. They get really low likes.
wasn't that Dave Barry?
@@attackehh no... Don't be delusional.
You better hope Kiwami doesn't see this...he'd put your worlds sharpest Amathyst knife to shame by making one of his own. And that man knows how to make a knife out of anything and actually make it sharp.
one day kiwami is going to produce the world's sharpest 2x4 and cut rocks with it.
was going to go with piece of paper, but remembered he did that already.
where is he.. he hasnt uploadied in a year almost :0
the process was agonizing and the result awful, this is my favorite kind of project
7:57 bro legit turned into Minecraft villager with that "huh"

Love the 153 million suscribers on the apology video😂
Lmao the 15 second shoutout to patrick, im sure hes glad he payed for that amazing advertisement. As usual great videos G
Best money we’ve ever spent! 😅
That crystal-meth joke had me in stitches!!!
Also, the inclusion of scenes from Flying High/ Airplane made it the most satisfying video I've seen in a long while.
Where's licky & the bald guy?
They both died in a horrible waterjet accident. That’s why the waterjet is still broken.
@@johnny1834 sounds legit to me 👍
That should be a lesson to all of us. Even baldness has its limits.
Cars and stuff features them.

I feel like I learn more from the failures here than the successes on other channels.
That water jet will forever be the sharpest thing in the world
that is the most solid tomato ive ever witnessed
make a knife outta that bad larry
This guy is a walking meme generator
2:06 why yes, yes I am reading these
Very good attempt. Ancient natives used to make super sharp blades out of crystals too, modern people carry on the tradition as a hobby very fun to watch.
watch a master knifemaker at his peak!
Still miss dan and mitchell, this channel will never ne the same without them
what happened to them
@@goobworx Nobody seems to know and it is really weird, it's almost like the channel was taken from them. Would be good if the new people talked about it to clear up people's questions.
I saw this guy in an earlier vid with the other two, not sure if they just handed it over or what. New to this channel but I enjoy both forms of content, this guy is funny as shit tho
That throwaway “remember kids you married a whole family” line is literally the reason I’m not getting married
Wow, that Amethyst was as sharp the sand grinder with those noises it made cutting through the vegetables😂
Nice job man!
I've heard surgeons use obsidian scalpels in place of steel ones in special applications because they produce an exceptional edge that out performs everything else.
They don't last, but they are molecularly sharp without much effort, so they are used when a clean cut is absolutely vital.
this is pure rumor and not true.
@@MrNoipe Try the CNN article: How Stone Age blades are still cutting it in modern surgery
It's true. It comes from the amorphous nature of glass. Where crystallic materials like most stones and metals tend to break along grain boundary (or along a major plane if monocrystallic), amorphous materials tend to break in a tapering manner.
This makes glass and flint very well suited for blades. And obsidian is a type of silicate glass.
The greatest advancements in technology are brought to humanity by weirdos in thier shops who ask "Will this work if I do this?" questions most would consider insane.
i laughed way too hard at "smoothening out my sanding belt"
Still surprises me the water jet can cut thru some tough ass stuff
as a former meth addict that joke was so hilarious about the crystals lmao
Fact. Caught me off guard
an amethyst knife sounds cool
The ace Ventura part where he said LiKe A gLoVE!
Got me bro 😂
The first cuts against the tomato had me in tears because you could audibly hear how horrible it is at cutting.
Steven Universe: That's a great knife for preparing Together Breakfast, Amethyst.
Lol I love the ad and also clicked on the link in the description cause it was perfect
Just discovered this channel, am not disappointed
At least this looks more effective than a bunch of Kamikoto knives...
the money spent for this project shows alot of dedication.
not to mention the time spent sharpening
Love the hair doo look like a whole new person lol. Nice knife btw
hey have you tried sandjet (centrifugal impeller sand blower, no water just some grain sand, more like a plasma cutter but with sand)
7:07 that's actually what you want from a sharpening stone, old smoothed out stones are the best for getting the perfect finish.
Also use a 2 part resin to connect the handle next time. Plus grips
i need one of these for my amethyst collection, not even for use
Just curious,,, what was the price tag on that big hollow stone with the purple crystals in the center,, on the stand,, at the beginning of the video?
The funniest part of this video was that you went to a mall. I didn't know those existed at this point.
I think there is a sharpening method that could work
you basically have an abrasive sludge, like corundum slurry or something
and that stuff is on a plate with grooves and that's what you grind on
wait, you did have a a video with that wood sawblade that you impregnated with some hard sparkly stuff
you could use that perhaps?
+1 for the Airplane reference 🤣💯👍
They're not rocks they are MINERALS

The cross sections of the gem sure are beautiful
Eric andre created amethyst. He took quartz and said: BUT WHAT IF IT WAS PURPLE?!?
It's the sharpest amethyst knife i've seen, but mostly because its the only amethyst knife i've seen.
Lmao "remember kids, marry the whole family"
i mean, who else has made an amethist knife in general? it might just be the sharpest lol
You were fooled! This is not an Amethyst, the correct name is Amethyst-Quartz.
The fundamental difference is: Amethyst is a single christal, Amethyst-Quartz is an agglomeration of tiny christallites of Quartz. That's why it's falling apart.
The hexagonal shape that you saw on the table at the exhibition was fake, they grinded the Amethyst-Quartz (a rock) into the shape of an Amethyst-Single-Chrystal. Sorry, buddy. Just an ex-jeweller's opinion. 🤷♂️
almost everything in that store was fake, I'm sure. They were lucky to buy an actual mineral.
@@tsm688 Not necessarily. You saw Amethyst Christals as they grow naturally.
It'd be one expensive knife that's for sure.
yes we love and off-center off-balance grinding wheel
So are we getting a blue knife next? Share those pre-show crystals 😂😂😂
What’s the crafting recipe, 1 stick 2 amethyst?
Looks like the diamond wheel was too low of grit for what you are wanting to do with it.
Water is needed with those diamond wheels.
Also too much heat with the belts will cause issues with the material as a well.
Failure is often more entertaining than success.
This was very entertaining.
will the waterjet "experiments" come back?
My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined
Congrats on splitting atoms tho
I don't think he'd end up on that knife show any time soon 😂
-5 points for not using a ukulele at the end
I love how someone could just be like "yeah i used meth right before this" and they coukd be complelty serious but everyone would just think its a joke. And the world may never know lol
great content.
AYO THE FUN GUY IS BACK!
looking into making some obsidian knives, was wondering if you guys can shape some for me?
Nailed It!
Man's making a Soul Gem knife
The diamond stones smooth out even if you sharpen normal knives, they will grind off the same amount of material as before.
The increased levels of euphoria are from the Techron
Gonna tyvm again for putting the hole in the blade.
beautiful
The fact that the water was sharper than the knife lol
as a lapidary artist, watching you use the diamond grit wheel gave me anxiety haha
And now this people the world's first vegetable saw
I know ceramic knives sharpen by stropping against more ceramic. I'd assume it'd probably be a better procedure to try than the traditional with these other extra hard materials.
You should try petrified wood flint and sapphire knifes
Literally just came from a Kiwami Japan video so watching him fail miserably at making a knife was a great comparison lol
he earned my sub when he said “don’t forget to wipe ya bottom!”😂
Is this a new update or a mod?
I need to meet this man.
I prefer to use the swiveling knife on standard toenail clippers when cutting tomatoes
consider how it slice, it wasn't dull, and definitely has some sharpness to it, just not as durable as normal blade.
So a tomato dulled it..?
that was most disgousting tomato sound i've ever hired
Thank you for making this excellent how not to video
shoot a flying figurine of Superman out of the air compressor canon.

Now I want a Ham, Cheese, Tomato and Amethyst sandwich!!!
If you ran your copper along the back of the blade and handle you could give some more strength to the handle

My brain hurts.
