Why
@@ShadEoinhes probably copying another comment he saw that got many likes
@@BleekXD true.
jeffery e, island headquarters 😂😂
Nate seems like a bloody genius and an all around nice guy to boot!
A genius? A person of average intelligence would know that meteorite and superconductors are some of the dumbest choices for blade material.
@@MrRobertX70 he is because he is actually able to make these things

Whenever the guy next to you is wearing a respirator and you aren't... You're probably fucking up.
Why don't you use mold release?
yes, in fact why wouldn't he? It's stupid to not use mold release. I wished he used mold release :(
ANOTHER COMMENT ABOUT MOULD RELEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you always want that smooth cardboard sound when cutting veggies. the hallmark of all good knives.
Guy with glasses is wearing upside down pineapples. Frigging score
Hes a swinger
Yeah why do you think I was with your mom
@@WaterjetChannelgot em
@@WaterjetChannel I know you were. I wear glasses too, dad.
Just saying tho. I love this channel I have been here since early, and guy with glasses is the best replacement. Honored by the comment in my comment
"I know some people who have access to materials you don't even _wanna_ know exist"
Is that a dare, a challenge, or a warning
You should use mold release...
+1
NUH UH
@@WaterjetChannel no, really, you should use mold release, it could get stuck. Why didn't you use mold release?
@@WaterjetChannelyuh uh
That sounds like a chakra nature from naruto
1:15 😂😂😂😂 did not see that coming (thats what she said😂🤦🏿♂️) seriously tho.... you had me in stitches😅
3:38 You’re a natural Crackie Chan slipping in the window of a decommissioned ambulance to salvage scrap metal
You wouldn't be saying that if you knew the person you just invoked by uttering that name on the internet
@@Skinflaps_Meatslapper saying “decommissioned ambulance?”
@@RandomBogey Not that and you can't troll me into saying it, not going to happen.
I really appreciate all the effort that goes into these videos.
Video quality is getting better, but like competition for views between the different platforms and on TH-cam is getting crazy brutal over the last few years.
The Jeffery E. part was kind of creepy...ngl!
In this video, guy with glasses beats his meteorite
Underrated comment.
Pause.
You can get Nb-Ti (Niobium-Titanium) metal superconductor round stock bars for as low as $100 a kilo. At retail.
Where? I want to buy some
@@WaterjetChannel Can't post links on YT anymore, but if you google "niobium titanium alloy price" multiple will show up. Alibaba vendors are some of the ones most upfront with pricing.
The Design is Very Human..
nah man nah🤣
I wonder how this would have ended if Nate sharpened the meteorite knife as well.
The first waterjet channel knife I would want!
(Have you considered using mold release?)
So let me get this straight. You just have a squirrel casually running around your office? Intresting
not anymore!! :(

Some random chunk of obsidian sitting on the ground: "Pathetic"
I preferred it before the etching
Where are Dan and Mitch? Guy with glasses has too soothing of a voice
They made a video explaining where Dan and Mitch went. They posted it about 3 months ago.
@@jonathandemattia9862wasn’t it essentially they don’t feel like doing it. Not that I’m really ripping on them but they’re just tired of doing it. I don’t mind the new guys, glasses guy is cool. I was super shocked to find out it wasn’t their shop though and they’re not shop employees or something. Just random guys who rent a shop out
@@monhi64 I'm pretty sure they both got promoted
those intro jokes are killing me. NICE GOING!
BUFF her...
I barely know her
lol
Keep making videos like these and I'll keep watching.
Bro I love the look of that meteorite knife, meteorites are something I’ve been very interested in lately.
Those surplus niobium tin and niobium titanium superconductor materials came from contractors that were going to build the texas supercollider. In particular these are extrusion rods to make wire for the solenoid magnets. ❤
That's some knife collection you have going for ya.
This is amazing but I cannot believe you guys didn’t give it a full metal tang!! (it needs to have a support going through the handle)
You can immediately tell how much sharper the superconductor knife is, but the meteorite knife is just so fucking thin that it's still able to compete.
Sharpness is a measure of your sharpening skill. You can make pig iron razor sharp. The question is how long a blade will hold that edge.
no somethings can just get sharper then others like obsidian
Why are people calling these things "superconductor" when they clearly are not superconductors. Superconductors are very brittle ceramics(not metal) that require hundreds of degrees below 0. That's just a copper rod impregnated with some titanium. It has nothing to do with superconductors.
Those 2 are different
Niobium-Titanium alloy is a type II superconductor
If you want something mind bogglingly sharp ask for 1 of 3 things. Go to a butcher shop and ask to see one of their freshly sharpened blades. They're much sharper than a razor. 2, buy a scalpel with a metallic glass coating. They're sharper than steel can be. 3, Get a volcanic glass razor. It's hard to find someone that will do it right, but if you do it's the sharpest thing outside of an atomic microscope.
A microscope...for cutting? From this I can surmise that you're a sharp lookin' hombre but perhaps not the brightest tool in the chandelier ;-) And me thinks obsidian is the material in Numero Terz you're thinkin' of.
@ropewash4432 I think I've seen those videos. I could be wrong but, I don't think that's part of the functionality of the microscope in and of itself. I am willing to concede, however, that I was being a bit pedantic about the term microscope.
Ea-nassir is such an obscure reference, gotta pay respect to my man Ea
Hahaha love the Ea-Nasir reference.
"but that not what your mom said last night" bro waked up and choosed violence XD
"Waked" "choosed"
Alright sir we’re giving you a pass because your bio is in another language. I actually am curious it looks latin-ish not Spanish exactly but maybe French or something. Granted I am not good with languages it could be tag a log for all I know
@@monhi64 Quebec?
After discovering what Superconductor was from Patrick Adair years and years ago back in high school, and seeing the price at the time for a 5-8" round stock, that was a lot of money for the intro. Each one at the time was ~$600-$870 per stock item.
A suggestion for your scales, try some made from Micarta or G10! They're both very nice materials to work with, though you should avoid the dust.
What is the super conductor alloy name and grade fella.
It should be Ti-48Nb or something very close to that
@@MrTheomossop Thanks
best knife yet!
Nah that's a Black Ops 3 loot crate reward 100%
Let Nate sharpen the meteor knife!! I am angry that the test was conducted without him sharpening it first
You guys keep outdoing yourselves with premium content!
So what you are saying is... Sokkas Meteorite sword was potentially viable?
Man now that's an awesome looking knife.
Damn pretty knife! maybe not the most functional but if cuts and takes an edge
Orycalcum is a viking-foam-alloy that cools into prills suspended in matrix, "beads in a mixture" [metalic-styrofoam]: poured into ingots, the metal behaves differently than homogeneous alloys; prills maintain themselves at the expense of the matrix, which imparts the beaten-metal-forces throughout: beaten cooling prill contort and stretch but maintain sharpness as an edge, while the weaker bronze-matrix fail-&-expose further toothed edge. I've explained orycalcum too many times...
Awesome! It sounds like another ancient, accidentally created nanotechnology.
that meteorite knife look like my grandma's forgotten kitchen knife
Wait, we're only just NOW hearing that the shop has a resident squirrel?
Haven't been here for a while and I love what this channel has become
I never knew he was your bro! Side by side I can absolutely see tho!
Those rods would normally be sent to a facility where they would be drawn into thin wire.
To fix that problem you should try adding a little touch of mold release.
Ill bet Jeffery E knows whats going on with that cat. 👀
That knife turned out really dope. I’d buy a knife like that happily.
Yeah, the bumpy sides would mess up some guts for sure
Nice Nick Zammeti impression whilst stirring the resin.
Call Elon, he now has a cyber blade !!!
Ok, now I want a superconducting cyber katana.
Great editing. Also a good way to be funny about being interesting. Love the humor.
No way you named you anonymous shady contact Jeffery E lmfaoooooooo
He knew what he was doing with that Jeffrey E joke
Drakes been busy since Josh left
Where do you get that stuff? I want to make something out of it
Jeffrey must be a perfectly nice person
bro used all of that superconductor for that one knife 😭
Bro needs a band aid sponsor.
@waterjetchannel I wanna know . Did yall sell a lot of them copper fingers or not?
Hey I just wanted to let you know that I think you need to use mold release
What a beautiful knife.
I am liking these videos a lot more. KEEP IT UP!
this is like , totally the sidearm thor would have and he would totally shoot lightning out of it .
this is what the stun knife from Metal Gear Solid 4 would look like IRL
So Jeffrey E. lives in the Caribean, huh? And he just happens to ship very expensive things in tight plastic bundles, huh? That's mighty coincidental and convenient Mr. Waterjet!
4:08 pro tip you should use some mold release to get better results
If you wanted a real test, you should have made the superconductor knife as close as possible to the meteorite knife. If they were the same thickness, the new knife would win hands down. But considering a not so master smith made the first 1….it will not be good enough to test when testing against a knife made by someone that actually knows how to make a knife. Is that why you asked for help? If so, redo this whole test, do it right.
Sticking that handle in the acid made me cry
How have i never noticed that patrick's brother is daniel!? 😂😭
To be honest, you're doing a great job at this. Very Funny
My boy Roy Gee Biv!
Jeff epstien also sells super conductor mats? 😂😂
Did you use the mold release?
Jeffrey E 😂
Hit me like a train
What is the Superconductor made of?
And what happened to his left hand?
This knife looks so badass. Like it belongs in a Predator boot.
It turned out pretty sweet! @Natetheblademaker truly is an artist
Awesome video. I really enjoyed it
6:57 Nice CoC
There are no room temperature super conductors
Nate should sharpen the meteorite blade aswell
as a nerd it is possible to bend the laws of physics, its called quantum mechanics and it "calls for and indeed requires temporary breaking of laws of physics"
11:04, the forbidden gatorade
The Cybertruck of knives!
Can't wait to see you make a saw blade out of super conductor.
I hate to be the one. But its just tooooo stubby. Needs to be a true tanto length.
Also I feel like he should of sharpened both blades to be more fair.
Also, every dang channel about engineering something probably illegal has one guy play clash of clans💀
15:07 Missed opportunity to say "This, will Keel"
I may be wrong here but doesn't Meteorite have a different density of metal in it as apposed to that which we have here?
What would be interesting is do the competition again but with the metor knife being as sharp as the superconductor knife!
But then they'd just be as sharp as one another which...kinda defeats the point of a comparison?
whats the point of using a superconductor? also, which one did you use?
This was cool.
It might not have held as good of an edge but I liked the knife better visually before the etch.
I know where you were when you were mixing the resin. A magical place where circles are made.
P.S. That Nate is a damn fine knife maker! Wow!
*casually makes piranha solution and dips a knife in it without a fume hood or compatible gloves*
That’s not piranha solution, it’s made with sulfuric acid. They were using muriatic acid.
