+padma salam Even the first Indonesian Doctor who initially issued the lab test has published her confession, telling the lab test and any records stated there were all written based on the request of the boy's mother. The image of the confession letter has spread virally here in Indonesia. When the case was outbreaking, (almost) all Indonesians were fulfilled with anger to JIS. We were even feeling unsafe to let our kids go to school. I admit it, I felt the same with others. However, once Pipit sued for USD 12.5 Mio (and lately increased 10 times), we started to think more clearly. "What if it's just Pipit's motivation for money?". Her greed has opened up people's eyes to the truth.
I lived in Indonesia for a year back in the eighties. When I was there it was a common occurrence for suspected petty criminals to be found dead floating in drainage canals with their hands bound behind their backs using zip ties of a certain color that everybody knew was an unofficial yet recognized trademark of the police. That's how justice worked. Faster and more cost effective than court trials but a greater margin of error. What convicted all the suspects in this case was the publicity. The police had to convict somebody. And once they convicted some poor Indonesians they had to convict some foreigners as well to restore a sense of balance.
What a complete injustice... It just shows you Indonesia is a corrupt country... Those judges should be disbarred.... Those mothers should be charged and put in jail..

As SE Asia develops, it will HAVE to change their judicial system. This will be essential if they are to become a part of the civilized world. They can start by establishing realistic 'rules of evidence'. As it stands, Indonesia in in serious trouble. This will ultimately affect their economy - as it should.

Thank you CBC for trying to actively pursue the truth. Curious how come there aren't any child psychologist involved or at least some kind of lie detector test?
+LelouchL3 Both of those things were utilized. Neil passed 3 lie detector tests, as did Ferdi. This was dismissed by the panel of judges, as was numerous testimony from expert forensic child psychologists who worked with the children after the accusations were made, and said the children did not display behaviours consistent with trauma. What's also important to note is that tests were performed on the children to examine for signs of sexual abuse, not just testing for Herpes (of which Neil and Ferdi were tested, both negative. If the children were indeed sodomized multiple times per day, over a period of months by EIGHT suspects, there would be physical signs to prove it.) The results of multiple anoscopies came back negative, meaning the children were not sodomized in any way. All of this, as well as numerous other forms of evidence in support of Neil and Ferdi's case was rejected by the judges panel. Not to mention that the prosecutor couldn't even identify when or where the alleged crimes took place. The indictment literally states, "At a time and place that can no longer be recalled with certainty, somewhere with in South Jakarta during 2014-2015...the accused are being tried for sexual assault". It's crazy. No proof, no timeline, no evidence, yet.....guilty? It's heartbreaking. Unfortunately, there are SO many inconsistencies that have taken place with this case, that CBC couldn't address all of it in a one-hour segment. Thank you for also wanting to understand the case, and the search for truth and justice. So many are quick to assume guilt without looking into the situation.
@Karishma Sharma ??? Ahhh...have you ever heard of Google search engine? I assumed you have access to internet since you could watch this video on TH-cam. let's type his name (his name is mentioned on the title of this video, in case you don't know where to find his name) in the google search box and click that little search icon on the far-right in the box. Within a few seconds, Google will list out as much information about this guy as you want to read. Good luck.
Maybe they need to check the mom and dad to see if they have herpes. But which type anyway and negative for herpes because most sexual abuse is a family affair. When a child age 12 and under becomes pregnant all male relatives should be tested because it's usually family not outsiders.
What a backwards country. This is insane. It's completely clear that they have no evidence that an assault even happened. At least they didn't torture him.
On behalf of my country, I am sorry for everyone who sees this video and anyone who have been involved with Indonesian law because it is unfair. I am praying so that there will be better lawyers and judges and laws in general here.
Did u notice how that poor kid picked a group of 6 cleaners together?? What are the odds out of all of those people? How can we know the truth if they torture people for confessions?? Confessions can be iffy without torture, but their is a dead person Bc of it. That’s so horrible. This is dreadful, but what’s even more scary is all of the people that live in any country that is falsely imprisioned and doesn’t have the money, support, and media attention of this teacher. So scary. It doesn’t just happen in Indonesia. Happens everywhere.
They should lock that lying money-grubbing cont in jail for the rest of her life for trying to send an innocent man to jail and making up false accusations and medical records !! Plus the judge needs to be fired from her position immediately and jailed for her own ignorance and not reviewing the evidence like a real judge should !!
UPDATE! Neil and Ferdinand’s acquittal was overturned by the Supreme Court in early 2016 where their sentences were increased from 10 years to 11 years and they were also fined $7440 each which they had to pay or get 6 months more on top of that extra year. Fast forward to late June of 2019, Neil applied for clemency and it was granted by the Indonesian government. Although his clemency was granted, Ferdinand and all but one of the janitors imprisoned remain in prison. The other janitor was released on parole in 2019 after serving half of his sentence.
Nobody from another country should go on vacation in Indonesia. What A cruel country. I will never go on vacation in Indonesia even they'll give me a ticket for free.
What happens to 5 cleaners who is serving sentence although the child proved to be herpes negative? One even died in torture. Cases like this, hurts everyone. Not just foreigners.
I went on a holiday to Hong Kong and Thailand. Most of the tourists in Thailand wanted to go back to live there. It is beautiful, but I saw the poverty and inequality and how frail is the legal system if you get on the wrong side of it. I know it is not Indonesia, but the systems are similar and if your face doesn't fit when a crime has been committed you can languish in jail for years before your trial is even brought to court. No thanks to living in places where this can happen no matter what the opportunities! Call me boring but I like being relatively safe, hoping that I have a fighting chance if innocent. I can't even begin to think what these people have gone through.

I really don't think that this didn't happen I really think a 5 year old lied and his mom told him what to say..This happened in the USA in the 90s were a day care center that was ruined by a family was accused of sexual abuse and the whole family was accused of abusing a few kids and it honestly didn't happen.
'When a person abuses a child, they are worse than a robber, when a robber robs a bank he steals money, but when a person abuses a child he robs them of their very soul, ' as an abused child myself I have the knack to spot an abuser, however i get the feeling that this man is innocent, abusers must be given life, because they will never change
What a vengeful and greedy woman! A sad case. The child may have been assaulted. But as the cleaners were tortured and not given a fair trial, noone knows if the accusation was true. Am not surprised she then went after the teachers of the school and upped her cost of what she wanted in compensation.

This is the culture in third world nations. I declined the teaching job.
+Aaron Chew
well that is a norm not only in Indonesia but also worlds, like Wall Street and etc.
+James Bond
*Think the same thing can't happen in the USA? LOL*
+Aaron Chew Whether it be Indonesia, the US, Canada, Britain, it is all the same. Justice is corrupt. Officials are corrupt and money talks. That batshit crazy lady probably got together with the other 3 wealthy women whilst drinking tea and came up with this story just to get millions. She had no class whatsoever, loud, obnoxious. Oh she planned this for sure. I guess it is the same all over the world once a story gets into the press and public opinion is not on your side your gonna lose the case.
+slw154 It does every single day. I believe there are more innocent people in jail than guilty.
Show her face.
She's not a Canadian.
Why are you protecting her?
@Kilnmaster yeah, sure it is
Its not hard if you really wanted to know who they are...
The witch is in Europe because we can give her justice in Indonesia. People can find vigilantes to give the witch justice.
She stretches her neck veins because she begs God to cut them.
@@johnfilmore7638 what are you trying to saying.. dude?
Carriacou is the best place in the world, and if I have money there are so many countries that I will never never go to.Dont matter how nice or there's things I will love to see.SAD
Greedy parents, incompetent and corrupt police force and justice system. Poor innocent people have been thrown (back) to jail and one was abused and now dead. I hope all expats and Indonesian people help release these innocent convicts, especially the poor cleaners.
I know if these are people of religion. I can only imagine where their faith and trust in our higher power. I can't imagine how these people kept tjeir faith if had any.
Stay out of these countries. God knows the truth, the rapists and the children.

Maybe that indo mother was poor she needed money lol
The mother wants attention money .
She’s damaged so many people it’s all about money
Jezebel
I agree with you. The mother reeks of the love of the show and greed. The teacher has the courage of a Marine his wife too.
malignant narcissist . gaslight . ...
teaching abroad is dangerous. You're always going to be considered an outsider. I speak from experience
Been teaching in Thailand for over six years. Just be a teacher and never engage with students in any other way.
So far so good 😉👍
@@gamestv4875 What are you talking about? Those kids were 5 and 6 year old kids. What kind of interactions do you think that teacher had with the students? You almost sound like you're blaming him for what happened!
@Gazpacho Suave Thanks 😁
Worst Judge verdict ever!
This judge should be fired!
Exactly...she probably protested for women's right and equality to get that position....and that's what she have to show for. She said the defendant showed no emotion or remorse but she did the same when throwing out legitimate evidence
Hung
, mostly of Judge in Indonesia doesn’t really follow the law.. they always in favor and their relationship with Prosecutors.
A magic stone and a blue potion? What is this, Final Fantasy?
kebayang gak sih berapa banyak orang innocent yang masuk penjara karena manusia macam ibu itu & hukum yang gak jelas?
Corruption is alive and well! If the little boy has herpes, why isn't there any records of treatments! I think the boy's parents plotted it, inorder to win a lawsuit! Having said that, I feel sorry for all the innocent victims involved, especially the young lad you died in detention as a result of a horrible beating! When is wickedness going to cease! Sad really!!!!!!!
+padma salam They have lost face now and nothing will change if the boy has herpes why don't they test everyone involved including the cleaners in prison..the man that died was murdered for sure, probably had bleach forced into him...what is the feckin president doing thought he was trying to clean up corruption but it doesn't look like it..shame on you Mr President
Leenie H I am in agreement with that! Also the mother should have to face the justice system for plotting such an elaborate scheme! If the so call victim was from a poor family, no one would care about bringing the alleged perpetrators to justice! The scale of justice is unbalanced! always have, always will be!!!!!!!
+padma salam The fifth estate told the mother to take her son to one of the testing facilities and the test came back negative for herpes......I'm sure she still deserves that 125 million tho......
Jay Michaluk You are being sarcastic, correct? If no, she deserves millions of dollars for lying and ruining innocent lives?
And once they convicted some poor Indonesians they had to convict some foreigners as well to restore a sense of balance.
normally I would side with the accuser....but the money and the fact that not one, but 8 people were accused of being rapists? seems a bit suspect....
FFS, the way they were dragging their kid into the courtroom tells me everything i need to know
This will always be your reward for working in these countries think hard before going there.
yet, the child never spoke once. the mother is plotting the whole thing.
that parents should be winning the oscar
They win for best actress.
And what about the other five not forgetting the one the Police killed.
What a complete injustice... It just shows you Indonesia is a corrupt country... Those judges should be disbarred.... Those mothers should be charged and put in jail..

Wtf. You act like there not bad things happening in America. Just think about the Turpin case or the Mary Stauffer case. All countries have flaws, some more than others. But don’t you dare say that Indonesia is a horrible country. I’m Indonesian and I think even with all these things happening Indonesia is he best country in the world
If you are telling the truth you dont have to hide your face
So why she's moving to europe?
thank you cbc for giving me a new sight, i am an indonesian and have just seen this case from a different side now.
Another county I will never visit...bat crap scared.
It's not actually a dangerous country
Their legal system is absolutely terrifying though.
+Warsilver north Korea's worse lol
Vere Buttbuttbutt Obviously North Korea's is worse, that's not saying much though. The best way to know the difference between a developed and developing country is the soundness of the judicial system. Indonesia's system is still in the medieval ages.
Warsilver nope. thats not actually the different. ive read too many law mishap even in usa. esp discrimination. i'm not indonesian but the rich and powerful really scared me sometimes.
So many innocent people are behind Indonesia bars..... I am so sorry for the pain it caused you and family.. May God heal the trauma
Money talks. You have money, you are feel free to kick out the innocent and the poor. Shame on you, Mrs. Theresia and her "right hands".
Just read he's back in jail serving out his sentence, his release was overturned. What a disappointment.
Ellen A. Wow
Thats crazy. It was so obvious he was not guilty.
They actually increased the previous sentence. I'm disappointed in the Canadian embassy.
He went back to jail for 5 years and was released in 2019... if I was him I would sue that crazy woman and the judge
so appreciate what you did cbc. so sick with my nation's law.. you could see that there's no justice but money here... I'll fight for those innocents who spend the rest of their life in jail no matter what

by ranting on social media lol
Despite all the improvement in Indonesia, the law system is almost not change for decades or even worse. Police, judges, attorneys, prosecutors, they all corrupted, compromising justice for money

one thing you should know about indonesia, when all the opinion, and people of indonesia is against you. that's mean you're on the right side. so, whenever you see many indonesian people say something, do the opposite. and, actually i am indonesian
The ones abusing the son here are the parents....
It is very obvious the woman is in for the money you should be the one in jail for fraud
At the same time, this is the kind of person you want to be and the kind of partner you want by your side.
As SE Asia develops, it will HAVE to change their judicial system. This will be essential if they are to become a part of the civilized world. They can start by establishing realistic 'rules of evidence'. As it stands, Indonesia in in serious trouble. This will ultimately affect their economy - as it should.
Wow these mothers are everywhere. They are called monster parents here in Japan...and usually its the mom, especially ones that are a higher class than the average people. I have had to deal with a few of those mothers here in Japan. It is crazy what kind of BS these mothers come up with. Thank God I was smarter than them and I caught them in a bunch of their twisted lies before they sucked other mothers in. It's too bad because there are times when some bad does happen, but there is so much BS out there you have sift through everything carefully. 12.5M??!? WTF?!?!?! 125M WT 'quazillion' F? False test and still mother inisisten.... Doesn't matter skin colour, culture, race..some people are really horrible...
So many are quick to assume guilt without looking into the situation.
it doesn't matter, psychologist/lie detector doesn't matter. only the judge and prosecutor and police matter and... money , yah?
2019 : He is back home in Canada
@Karishma Sharma ??? Ahhh...have you ever heard of Google search engine? I assumed you have access to internet since you could watch this video on TH-cam. let's type his name (his name is mentioned on the title of this video, in case you don't know where to find his name) in the google search box and click that little search icon on the far-right in the box. Within a few seconds, Google will list out as much information about this guy as you want to read. Good luck.
I wonder how much from the money demanded from the school will fall in that lawyer's hand...
Maybe they need to check the mom and dad to see if they have herpes. But which type anyway and negative for herpes because most sexual abuse is a family affair. When a child age 12 and under becomes pregnant all male relatives should be tested because it's usually family not outsiders.
Did you not watch? The kid doesn’t even have herpes.

Realy hope these parents and their kids will be paying for the rest of their lives
I'm Indonesian and I'm ashamed of this.
The show producers grouped them together to show them easily on film
They should lock that lying money-grubbing cont in jail for the rest of her life for trying to send an innocent man to jail and making up false accusations and medical records !!
Plus the judge needs to be fired from her position immediately and jailed for her own ignorance and not reviewing the evidence like a real judge should !!
And the dirty pigs for murder
Danny Yarbrough INNOCENT MEN ! & a woman too!
Amanda Swaney true. One of them died at the hands of their captures. Neil is only getting all this because he’s a westerner.
Don't ever go to Indonesia to teach.

This is why you dont work as a teacher anymore unless every room has cameras and save recordings for years

I really don't think that this didn't happen I really think a 5 year old lied and his mom told him what to say..This happened in the USA in the 90s were a day care center that was ruined by a family was accused of sexual abuse and the whole family was accused of abusing a few kids and it honestly didn't happen.
'When a person abuses a child, they are worse than a robber, when
a robber robs a bank he steals money, but when a person abuses
a child he robs them of their very soul, ' as an abused child myself
I have the knack to spot an abuser, however i get the feeling that this
man is innocent, abusers must be given life, because
they will never change
When the police said the blender was evidence he mixed a blue potion I about lost my mind.. Y'all people are buggin
What a vengeful and greedy woman! A sad case. The child may have been assaulted. But as the cleaners were tortured and not given a fair trial, noone knows if the accusation was true. Am not surprised she then went after the teachers of the school and upped her cost of what she wanted in compensation.
Oh wow. I couldn't imagine this. What a nightmare.
you know what's funny? its all started when the pipit's kid is getting annoyed in wearing pants, consistently refusing to wear them because he's afraid of getting the pants wet. funny stuff.
