Thanks this was super easy to follow and your tone made it totally not intimidating. So sick of getting oil changes at the quick lubes. Oil plugs over torqued (hot tip: WD-40, a good hex socket, and patience...) and on my other vehicle they didn't reinstall the plate properly and it ripped off, tearing a TPM sensor and causing $300 in repairs. Turns out those little pieces aren't that cheap! So glad to be able to just do this myself! I threw on some new wiper blades too so my baby is really singing now! 💯

Thanks! This was very handy for my 2022 Expedition XLT with a 3.5 v6.

Thanks, this made it easy. Haven’t changed my own oil in 20 years but prices have gotten ridiculous.. $140 last time… will do it myself from now on.

Fumoto oil drain valve will change your life... Your welcome. Get the F137N and some 3/8 ID hose and you can run it strait to your drain pan with zero mess.

Completely agree on the expedition! I attached the rubber hose on it and left it there for super easy and clean oil changes.

Thank you for the info! Haven't changed my own oil since my first car back in highschool and our local dealerships are charging an astronomical amount...

Thank you for this I just picked up a used 2020 and changing oil is nothing new to me but knowing where everything is located is good to know. That funnel might be on my list to get. 👍🏻

Yea I wouldn’t go over 4K miles on this oil changes , clean oil is good for both the turbos and more importantly the cam phasers! They are dirty engines with a lot of blow by. Might consider a catch can to add extra protection! Great video

I couldn't agree more. These motors like clean oil and they seem to get oil dirty fast just as you explained. THANK YOU for your thoughtful comments about cam phasers etc. Catch can is a good idea too, keeps things cleaner still.

There's a big debate on whether or not a catch can is needed on this 2nd gen 3.5 engine. You should check out the F-150 forum thread on it.

I cant get over the bottom cover. Its not a skid plate, it absorbs water from the road... it seems like its more of a sound shield? I removed mine, do any of you think it serves a real purpose?

I have a question, I'm doing an oil change myself for the first time on my 2020 expedition, it has 102000 thousand and wanted to keep using the Motorcraft brand but realized after going to a few local stores that that i couldn't find the high mileage so i called the dealership and they told me that there is no high mileage on Motorcraft so should i use the regular 5w 30 Motorcraft or should i go with a different brand that has high mileage not sure if that would make any difference. Thank you

Bonehead design choice by Ford for the drain plug and oil filter location.

@@question_it_701 Nah. Drop in filters are the way to go. And drain hole should be pointing straight down, not at a diagonal.

@@question_it_701 heh, was waiting for a smart ass comment like yours. To answer it, I don’t have to design one cause my 2016 F-150 2.7 ecoboost had a drop on filter. Heck my 2014 E63 AMG has a drop in filter and straight down drain. So one doesn’t need to “design” anything to know what they’re talking about chief.

that drain bolt is a bitch especially when the dealer wrenches it on there
