That 2013 season such a memorable season. They had a 2-1 lead against the cardinals in the NLDS and should’ve won it but man this game right here is my favorite Pittsburgh sports moment. Amazing
@@Dylan-nq9yg yeah it sucks they didn’t win against the cardinals. It was so close🤦♂️. Out of all the Stanley cups and super bowls Pittsburgh has. This is still my favorite Pittsburgh moment it was something special.

Oh have the times changed here. This game really brought the city together. I love this team no matter the heartbreak but we need baseball back in the Burgh
As a die hard Yankees fan I was rooting for the Pirates to win that year. Such a fun exciting team and haven’t made the playoffs before then since 1992. True Cinderella story team!
Thanks for the kind words. It means a lot coming from a fan that's used to consistently winning. I honestly think that if the Pirates beat the Cardinals they very well could've gone to the World Series. They were incredible that year, but St. Louis always seems to be our kryptonite
I’ve been to Steelers playoff games and Penguins Stanley cup finals games, but nothing has come close to the atmosphere of this Wildcard game. What a night.

Nothing like that had really been done before. I remember that they were interviewing Russell Martin after the game and they asked him about the hockey style Cueto chant (since Russ is from Canada) and he said he's never heard anything like it. Like who the hell thought that a goalie chant in the middle of a baseball game would work, but it did!
Holy shit these moments still give me chills. It feels so weird to see over 40k people at pnc. Ever since then, it’s been a constant downward spiral of ass😂one day we’ll get to see this again….I hope
I’m only 17 and I’m a pirates fan. I will always remember that season because it’s the best I’ve seen the pirates😭. And their only good season since I’ve been alive(except for the few seasons after) hopefully I will get to see them eventually win the World Series. And hopefully they will get back to being how they were in the 70’s 😂
Same bruh the made the playoffs another 2 seasons in 2014 and 2015 that’s the glory years for us hopefully we’ll be good in a couple years I heard we had a good draft
i prefer watching the steelers or the penguins over the pirates because im not the biggest fan of baseball, but man that was the best pirates game that i've ever seen in my life, it would be really awesome if the pirates were good again
This game used to make me happy. Now it pisses me off. This was the single best game since 1979. And nothing else has come close. Cherington has a lot of work to do to even make the Pirates a Wild Card team again. I’m 41 now and I don’t know if the Pirates will ever be in the playoffs again.
They have a lot of exciting prospects that will debut in the next couple years, I’d say 2023 they’ll be good again. This year will be a stepping stone but once they get the prospects up, Gonzalez, Lioner, Kranick, Cruz, Castro, Chandler, Davis, Preister, etc, they will be great again..
I miss this. By far my favorite pirates game to ever watch and enjoy. Maybe, just maybe with new pitchers this year… the Bucs will actually have a chance for the postseason in 2024… I hope 🤞 🖤💛🖤💛
Absolutely criminal that the next two years the Pirates had even better teams and both seasons came down to ONE game. They were the SECOND BEST team in baseball in 2015 and the Cubs just got to put out their ace and that was it. The MLB wild-card game is the most broken thing in any sport EVER.
I remember in 1992, being really upset. cause the pirates lost the series against the braves. it happened 2 days before my birthday in octobbr. I was 8 turning 9. to see this game, 21 years later...i was 29 turning 30 and the win happened 15 days before my birthday. my inner kid was happy
I'm a Reds fan. I wasn't happy that we lost. But if there's a team we're going to lose to, I'd rather it be the Pirates and not the fricking Cardinals or something. Lol. Baseball fans in Pittsburgh have suffered for a long time, including most of my family who are Pirate fans. Just like the Reds, your team is bogged and hindered by cheap and ineffective ownership. I have to admit it was good seeing you guys have that string of success. Plus Pirate fans are good people. I've always been treated with respect attending games at PNC Park.
Look at the construction of that team. A mix of veterans and young guys, a star McCutchen and solid bullpen and starting rotation. We have the base there just need a real SP free agent and Skenes and we'll be close
I mean we’re about to so... does that count considering the pirates are gonna be terrible if there is a season this year and the reds could get a playoff spot
For what it's worth, this might as well have been Game 7 of the World Series for me.
it was for a lot of people in the city, never felt energy like that before a game in my life.
