EXE-Edits I was actually so shocked at this game. Didn't expect it at all. I thought the Cubs has it easily. They were up five games on the Brewers at some point. They choked that lead. They choked the tiebreaker. And now they choke in the WC game. You couldn't be more right... Cubs had every chance to win this game. But we gotta give credit to the Rockies though

As a Cubs fan, this goes down in history as one of the most pathetic games I have ever watched.
For those of you commenting on whether we should have the Wild Card Game or a 3-game series, here's the context behind the Wild Card Game:
The Wild Card Game was instituted in 2012. The main reason for this (besides MLB wanting to make more money) is that in 2011, on the last day of the regular season, the Braves and Cardinals were tied for the NL wild card spot, and the Rays and Red Sox were tied for the AL wild card spot. The Red Sox, (MLB's 2nd favorite team after the Yankees), who led the wild card race by 8.5 games on September 1, were winning in Baltimore in the bottom of the ninth, but the Orioles, down to their last out with nobody on, scored 2 to walk off and win. the Rays (small market, so MLB wants them to lose) came back from a 7-run deficit in the eighth against the Yankees and walked off in the twelfth. Poor MLB! In the NL, the Braves, who also led the wild card by 8.5 games on September 1, and had dropped 5 straight to get to game 162, lost at home in the 13th against the Phillies after being up by one run in the ninth. In the third, a braves runner was caught stealing third with nobody out (he was actually safe, it was the wrong call) and the next batter promptly belted a solo homer. I do kinda feel bad for both the Braves and the Red Sox. Apparently MLB did too.
So, that's why we have wild card games. I think a 3-game series is a little much for MLB to add in one year. But hey, if the yankees lose the AL WC game, two of their favorite teams will have lost the wild card game at home this year, and MLB will probably make it a 3-game series.
IMO they should extend the season if they have to to make a quality wild card series. I don't think I would care if the season ran an extra week into November to make wild cards a little less stupid.
In other words if the Braves and Red Sox were switched with the Marlins and the Orioles the wild card game wouldn’t exist. This just shows how MLB is super biased towards certain teams.

This game shows one problem, the umps and MLB were being biased towards the cubs. This seems like it was just so the cubs could make the playoffs so mlb would make more money because more people would have been watching and rooting for the Cubs because they’re more well known and because they broke a curse by winning the World Series that one time. In other words, the cubs deserved to lose, and mlb tries to rig the games so the popular teams that bring in more money will win.

Personally I think the seeding was fine this year, Yankees are in because of a historic Red Sox team, and the Cubs had every chance in the world to win the division and win the game last night. I like the do-or-die aspect of the game, brings out some of the craziness of baseball and gives more incentive to win the division.

Die hard Rockies fan here, and I completely agree. A game of baseball is too unpredictable. The better team doesn’t always win. That’s why we have 162 games in a season, to truly find the better teams. A 1-game playoff series is way too short.

The whole year comes down to a one game elimination for WC. I don't like this arrangement at all. A one game elimination should happen only when 2 teams are tied, which is rare and what makes those games special, like the 77 Yankees / Red Sox Bucky Dent game. Good for the Rockies and all, but I am just more glad the Cubs lost. I hate the cubs so much and their play style. Especially Contreras, he's literally pimping walks and bat flipping on them. Their offense just shut down in the second half and they kept getting lucky and lucky until they finally fell apart and lost the tiebreaker and WC game.
