The RHCP as being some of the best recognized musicians in the Music Industry have become better and better overtime like sipping well aged premium scotch while having dinner with a friend that you connect with and enjoy talking to about many different subjects going to bed now😊
Btw, Anthony ~ if you ever read these comments ~ my long-time voice teacher sang backup on James Brown’s records in the 70’s when he had studios in Boulder. She got the gig because she was friends with Nancy Pillsbury in grad school (at UCB), as her family were funds-fronters for Brown. As of 2017/2018 she had no recollection of which albums or which songs ~ I wanted to investigate and figure it out for her~ as her work was uncredited. Typical for the time I guess. Also, Brown’s desk from that studio was passed down to a guy who volunteered at WNED in Buffalo, NY from his uncle, who worked with Brown at that studio. Fun facts, small world, cool things.
Good interview, enjoyable. Conversational. My feeling about interviewers however is to find a balance between verbalizing your own thoughts as a way to ask a question and allowing the interviewee space to answer. He was nice though, and clearly appreciative of his friend’s work.
My take away from the interview is that Anthony's answers were that if you don't stay current in the style of what's selling albums, i.e. grunge period then performers stardom is short lived. The RHCP continue to produce albums and getting awards as recent as the last MTV awards 2023 is attributed to being great in all writing words. For example, the Dark Neccesities album proves that as a band, they're getting better like tasting aged scotch. I think that Anthony's role is also that before going to studio and the time it takes to be released could take several years
Anthony has to be a natural future thinker and not only be the lead singer in the band he also has to guess on which stocks he'd invest in in order for a particular new album become the shit hitting #1 on Billboard award hard to do and he's good at it even though he appears to be humble, truthful and a gifted speaker... I ride bikes and drive very fast cars as a hobby and get off on it cuz I'm a speed freak not in the drug term but being responsible and can't wait for my next getaway vacation from San Francisco cuz I get brain overload. I'm also a lyricist and singer and currently laying tracks so I can go to a recording studio to do my own label and album. I came up with a new genre called "Erotic...rock, Gospel or rap" You get the idea. Brain overload and gotta do something that for you to release that tension mines is speed. I'm retired yet working on my own projects and not get over whelmed like when Flea said he had to take 2yrs off cuz of what he going was and to get a grip until something triggered you in he said let's get back to making music Awesome thru in his Life challenges

And it allows you to value everything so much more, because you understand the value of things much more. Aging changes your looks and perspective. If you’re lucky, you get to age.
