- This is the new Zelos Nova 2 being released in a couple of days
I found the watch very interesting and an amazing vibrant dial that stole the show (for me) 😊

Thanks for watching..
It's a nice looking watch, but the strap and buckle are completely wrong for it.
Maybe Elshan was thinking a brushed buckle would show up fewer scratches, considering a watch buckle or clasp is in a more vulnerable position for desk or tabletop contact.
Yes, this & the size were deal-breakers for me after receiving their email a week ago. There are some even nicer Nova dials too, imho. It's just a shame that I'm not older, shorter & weedier. 😁
yeah totally agree
Indeed and it still looks soo good
Agree. If ever there was a watch that begged for an elegant exotic leather (e.g., crocodile, ostrich, etc.), this is it.
Thanks a lot for featuring the MOP dial, 1 day and 20h before it sells out :) I am particularly interested in this variant.
Yeah its a shame they put limits on the quantity they make..
@@PeterKotsa They are playing the scarcity card. hence, the steep price. I love the dial but it is too expensive for what it offers.
Why the hell people are complaining this is "too small"? It's a dress watch, not a wall clock or a frying pan. In the historical perspective it's actually 2mm larger everywhere than the usual. People should stop thinking so much about numbers.
Why bring 'historical' perspective. Just look at the old picture and see the size of people in those days. Yes, it's a dress watch but for someone big like myself this watch on my wrist looks ridiculous. Each to their own as they say.
There were big and fat guys in the past. The point is, dress watches are supposed to be small, and large watches are already too much common.
@@DrDjDD
What‘s your wrist size?
I wear a 30mm 1950s dresswatch on my 8" wrist ….
@@SkysaxonDragonslayer
Just over 8', always wear big watches, my eyesight is not great either(lol).
I understand it's a dress watch and it should be smaller, not arguing about that.
As I said each to their own.
I agree 100%. I have a little Osco that's 33mm inc crown and I love the thing.
This one will be the dial I'm going for, I'm imagining it will pair extremely well with a light grey suit and light blue tie for events. I'm glad the legibility appears to be much better on this dial than some of the other dials. I agree that the band doesn't really feel right for it. Thank you for being able to articulate two of the three issues that I have with the band aesthetically, the lack of taper and the clash of styling with the clasp. The third issue I feel is the black color doesn't seem to match just right with the dial. If I manage to snag one before they sell out I'll try it on brown leather and milanese mesh bands to see what works better. Thank you for the thoughts
Never seen a dial like that one. Unreal! Love the look. Great size too.
I like 37mm dress on my 7 inch wrist but I think the stock strap makes it look smaller. Thinner strap that tapers to 16mm would better frame the dial.
Mosaic is beautiful. How did they piece different pieces together without any gaps in between. To do it on a small dial amazing.
Zelos is such a great microbrand. They will overtake the watch market for sure!
This one’s a little different from what I’m used to seeing from them and “jewelry” is the key word.
Us gents typically have only watches to showcase as jewelry and this one is really well designed. A conversation starter for sure!
Thanks for sharing! Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.
You too brother 👍
I like the classy style of this one it looks great
I absolutely agree about the buckle! That should be much smaller and probably polished as well.
I knew you'll get the best dial Pete! I knew it! It's amazing.
I chose this one for them to send down because it just looked better in my eyes bro 😊
Absolutely gorgeous dial! I have the MOP Aurora and I love that dial but this one is extra special. Great video Pete!
Cheers
I wonder why the clasp (buckle and tang) are brushed and not high polished especially when the watch case is polished.
Spot on - thanks for a great review and showing off the highlights of this beautiful piece. Agree totally on the strap and buckle. Ordered this as soon as they came out and immediately also got a black alligator strap aftermarket to match. 😅
Enjoy 👍
Surprised that the mosaic pearl turns out to be the most legible of the Nova 2 I've seen in video reviews.
I wanted to see what the mosaic dial looks like, thats why I asked them to send this version...I think it suits the watches aesthetics as a dressy piece really well 👍
@@PeterKotsa agreed.
Very unexpected from Zelos. Love that MOP dial!
Even though they often sell out very quickly, I feel that they have missed an opportunity to produce a classic black and white tuxedo variant would probably appeal to a wider market.
Oooh yeah a high gloss black dial or even tuxedo as you said would have been well received here for sure.
Good call Leon 👍👍
That's exactly what I was thinking when first saw this watch.
Beautiful piece and great dimension! Agree with your considerations and super video as always Pete mate 🤜🤛
Thanks brother 🙏
Fantastic sizing for a dress watch. Looks great, overall, but I prefer the dials on the original Nova. Oh well
Epic review as always! The sum of the negatives becomes a deal breaker for me. I did strongly consider it though. I have a bunch from Zelos but nothing has drawn my wallet for years. Besides I just backed a beautiful full porcelain dial dress watch on KS. 40mm, 10mm thick, Miyota 9000 series movement, and rare to get a full porcelain dial. Brand is called Halcyon. $520. Much more my cup of tea. Always enjoy your content!
I already learnt 3-4 microbrands from you! Really brilliant videos.
Thank you 🙏
First of all, from what I've seen, this mosaic dial is definitely the one to get. It is far more attractive in this design scheme with polished separations. The dual-tone colour shifts of the mother of pearl make it incredibly versatile too. The CNC guilloché is too busy to my eyes and interferes with the furnishings. However, seeing this also confirms for me that I'm really not into the font used. On no version does it look right. I'm almost starting to think that if there ever was a watch that would benefit from Breguet inspired numerals, this is probably it. These look too rigid and diminutive. It might also have been more fun to have runaround numerals. The logo placement is a nice solution and alternative for a cut off or missing 6. I think it was a mistake from Zelos to remove the brushed sides of this watch. It used to look sharp, now the angles of its case shape look softer, less assertive. With brushed sides the buckle would be more in keeping. I wholeheartedly agree this is not well thought through, and in fact the horween strap is a miss for me as well. It does not suit the style. A nicely finished saffiano or caviar leather would probably suit this style far better. The one change I would have appreciated is an upgrade to a thin automatic, but I understand that this movement is appropriate for the genre. So, all in all, interesting, with an absolute hero dial, but the first generation is easily more attractive to me.
I missed out on this beauty. Please let me know I you know of one available. Thanks!
I still have mine if you want it..drop me an email peterkotsa@gmail.com
@@PeterKotsa I still keep coming back to this video just to look at/watch the watch, lol.
I have the first gen mocha dial Nova. Impressive dial and movement. Looks like the case is much nicer on this one. The eta7001 is a nice movement. Hacking.....meh! Have a swordfish bronze watch with the mosaic dial. Really pops out in the sun. Great looker, but the price?
I’m not a dress watch guy either , but that’s a beautiful watch. Thanks for the great review and camera shots!
👍
Super dial indeed, but the rest, including the size and manual movement LP is meh.
Still - I would probably consider trying getting one, if only I'd have somewhere to wear at least semi-often...
Hi Peter. I have a few watches that don't hack but I'm fairly sure that I can back hack them all. Have you tried back hacking this particular movement ?. My couple of nit picks are that perhaps the knurling on the crown could have been a tad finer and a simple Z at six would suit it better than being embossed on a surround. Nice looking piece mind.
I tried back hacking but no luck...😢😂
@@PeterKotsa Pity that although I do know that not all can back hack and I obviously have no experience with that particular movement.
What a dial. Great review.
Cheers
I like the watch, it looks well done. I probably would select one of the other dial choices.
Great video brother ❤I love this model!
It is stunning in the hand for sure..👍
I'd expect almost anything from Zelos today, i'd love to see their answer to the Bel Canto
Probably already in the works Alix...who knows 😊👍
Agreed, it needs more taper on that strap and a smaller buckle.
Agree with better choice of strap
Is there a specific release time on July 5th?
Just check their website..there is a countdown timer
I would happily take that leather strap and put it on one of my other Zelos watches, but afraid as lovely as this one is, I'll be giving this one a miss as I have no use for a dress watch like this. Hard agree about the bucle on the strap though.
Love the dial but I'm not a fan of the case shape and lugs. It's a bit too industrial for me. Thicker Arabic numerals would have been nicer too. The thin font makes the dial seem unbalanced.
It’s a very nice looking watch, size, quality and Zelos is making a lot of nice pieces, but as you said, legibility is not top at all 🙄.. and for my own security I like 100m WR, but understandable with such a thin case.. lots of compromises..
It's a dress watch. 100 WR is over the top, most offer 30.
@@garyboyle695 maybe you didn’t read what I wrote? It’s understandable with that thinnes and for my own security!
Really, really nice. I could do without the “z” at the 6 but I’m nitpicking.
Oh hello master of watch videos ;-)
Hahaha...😂
I love that movement, but I just never could get on with Zelos dials. They are just way too busy in my opinion.
Damn this is their best looking watch yet
Strap dsnt go along with the watch finish...Zelos should have opted a better dressier leather strap such as croco with matching stitching on it with polished buckle. Bracelet variant could have been another option for such polished case.
Zelos is a favorite of mine. But not this watch. I've only bought MOP watches for my daughters. I hope they come out with something else this year.
Stunning
The chosen font just seems off for a classy dress watch.
Wrong strap for this style of watch. Pretty thing though.
I agree 👍
Yep. Different strap would work better.
Very nice dial but the strap looks a bit behind the timepiece overall elegant touch.
We need more dress watches. Divers are so boring.
It's lovely.
that is very bjutiful dial
Love ya Peter
😊 Thank you..straight back at ya. 👍👍😘
I’d much rather see this with a very fine brush finish on top for some contrast
I wonder how they are able to get hold of an ETA-movement nowadays
IMHO would be outstanding at 39mm
If put a croc strap will look nicer❤
There is allways something in the design of Zelos that doesn´t captivate me at all
it's so dishonest not to include the sapphire crystal on the thickness of the watch.
A piece of jewelry that tells time is the definition of a dress watch.
Well, they have nailed it here 👍
Its an amazing looking watch, the turn off for me are the indices i just don’t like them
Stunning. It’d be great if they made this in adult size
That sub-dial kills it dead.
Budget watch's on AliExpress are turning the watch world upside down. Should i be a snob, should i not be a snob, should i be a snob, should i not be a snob... who cares, if you like it, screw everyone else, their not you❤👍
Pete! Further ado not adue…. Great videos though mate.
My Melbournian pronunciation skills 😂
Price is $150 higher now, two months later.
Lovely but to small it I'd be like a shirt button on my wrist
The strap to me doesn't work well with this "dress style" watch. It's mismatched in my opinion.
Poor man/woman making those dials....
What about non binary? 🤔🤣
@@mersmithy1269 Still feel sorry for... him/her/@.
I didn't have the patience in primary school arts and craft to do mosaics...it took forever and I just wanted to go out and play 😊😂
@@PeterKotsa Now minimize it to this dial (with all the cuts/curves/circles/wtf out of shell's slices!). Just hell mate!
@@stavros_katsopr hahaha
Love the look of the dial. Prefer automatic winder and lume.
This is a vintage style manual dress watch, so what you're asking for doesn't make sense with this model
It's not for me. To me, it looks more gaudy than classy and the small seconds hand looks cheaply made. Terrible strap choice. It's not important what I think, though. It's a Zelos so it will sell out within hours anyway.
if there was lighting under the blue it would be killer!
when i think about zelos, i think sold out.
i like everything but too small
I dunno - it just tries too hard
I am lucky I don't share your taste.......
A cheaper looking fears copy
Zelos....always very close, but not quite there.
No hacking in 2024?
No big deal, you can still set the watch as accurately as a hacking watch and hacking is actually bad for the movement.
Hacking is overrated. The accurate setting will already be off by the day's end anyway.
@@TheGrenadier97 Yes, but I check it against my iPhone every night and I’m always aware how my watch is running.
0:38 it's without further ado, not 'adieu'....
Melbournian accent 😊😂
Really, guy?
Too bad it’s so tiny.
Watchmakers forget that there are males out there with "normal size wrists" 7.5-8.5 inch wrists that cant wear a small watch without looking like they raided their wives collection. I,m loving their work but give me an Aventurine dial in a 40mm or larger and i will give u my money. Ps the watch will then fit the above band!
Men used to wear 34-36mm watches as standard. Concepts of men’s and women’s sizes are totally arbitrary
What are you talking about, majority of the watch market makes products in the 40mm and up range, it's only recently that watch makers both major and micro have been catering to smaller wrists and more vintage sizes, so sorry nobody is feeling sorry for you, you act like larger wrist ed folk have been ignored for decades
@@edkwon Are u 6 '4" and 120 kgs,no I didn't think so,this is to small for Me!
way too small
This is an ongoing thing. Maybe man are just getting skinnier. Who knows.
Good heavens.
Do you hear an echo during relations?

good thing it's a dress watch,
I don't want a plate on my wrist for an occasion.
Pete, love the watch, and your videography captures its beauty, as you say it pops. However, the strap is a deal breaker for me, looks like it should be on a tool watch not a dress watch.
I agree Paul, its more of an afterthought in my eyes too
It is easy to change to strap.
