I have a few Zelos myself. My most recent purchase was a Mako GMT. For the first time, I had a problem with it, the on the fly micro adjust wasn't holding a setting and was loosening up. I ended up taking a link out and wore it that way for a bit, until summer came around and my wrist got a little wider. I emailed Zelos asking for guidance, they mailed me a new clasp after ensuring they had the correct type of watch, and that was the end of it. No nonsense good customer service and great quality for the price. The only reason I don't have the specific watch you showed is I didn't have the money for it when it was released and was saving up for a different watch in that price bracket that I have since purchased. But my first Zelos was a Spearfish with a lovely meteorite dial, so I'm not exactly missing out. Great, balanced review as always.
I have owned several Zelos watches but presently own a Mako 3 Ti watch. The others were sold at original cost due to having too many watches. I needed an additional link for one watch- and it arrived in less than a week. At no charge. I have mentioned a Mako 3 Ti Gmt. But no bites from Eloshan. Yet. The titanium in this watch does not feel flimsy. But it is different than steel. Also, the bracelet is silky smooth and does not grate like a jubilee. I’ll always have room for a Zelos. Great review on great watch.
Purchased two Zelos watches from their website. Both are terrific functioning timepieces but the designs are somewhat geared to a younger audience. I’m an older collector. Have some of the usual brands such as Omega, Longines, ORIS, and Baume & Mercier. My taste runs more towards classic designs. But, there are some outliers that are hard to ignore. My Zelos Blacktip and Eagle are both titanium and both have aventurine dials. Yet both look very different. The Blacktip is a classic handsome dive watch that appeals to my older taste. The Eagle is a pilot watch with some aggressive styling that is more appealing to a younger crowd. The Eagle was a gift to my son for his high school graduation. We both love it. Also bought a CW Bel Canto, but still waiting for the notice that it’s ready for delivery. I feel some similarities between Zelos and CW in the way they conduct business. Zelos has been very responsive when I’ve written to them. They have earned my respect. In the past I never would have purchased anything not made in Switzerland, Germany or Japan. It’s a new world.
I have a Zelos Aurora field watch with the ice blue fume dial. You get full titanium case and bracelet, sapphire crystal, micro adjust clasp, sandwich dial with superluminova, 200M wr, screw down crown and an anti-magnetic faraday cage all for under $400. I don't think I have found another watch that gives so much for such a price. Perfect everyday watch! Wow, you turned down a free watch! That's discipline!
I own 2 Zelos watches. One titanium and one stainless steel with a meteorite dial. Both are absolute keepers. Finishing and wrist feel are way beyond their price. My absolute favorite micro brand . Will soon own a new GMT. as well. Love the passion of Elshan. Consistently captured in his products ..Way recommended!!
Discovered your channel a few months ago and have been enjoying your no nonsense straight to the point backed with solid reasoning style of content. Figured I would comment and let you know. Also, huge respect for sending the watch back! Looking forward to more content of yours!
I got my Mako lll with the blue meteorite dial running a Miyota 9075. Price was the most expensive watch in this offering of this batch. A chunky boy at 15 mm with an Oyster bracelet, it runs about 4 seconds a day slow. $629.00 USD TT&L. It is my 1st traveler GMT. It is gorgeous. Lume is next level and yep, I will be buying another Zelos. Mike your reviews are superb. Thanks
I purchased a Zelos Spearfish 41mm late last year to be my beater travel watch. For $500 USD, the titanium case and bracelet are very nice. The bezel leaves much to be desired but at $500 for a full titanium watch on bracelet, not a problem. Overall, very happy with the quality to price ratio of the Spearfish. I think the sub $1000 price point is where Zelos really shines. At $2200, I would not consider their products.
I own a blue dial Spearfish dual time watch since April. Thereafter, it never leaves from my twist. Its transparent dial design looks like batik and legibility (except the second time zone) regardless of daytime or at night. The luminous marker can last throughout the whole night. I enjoy seeing 2 tone of luminous especially enter into dark car park during daytime. I also like this titanium watch and bracelet, it is light, but you won't feel it cheap. This is my first watch come with fly adjustment, useful for change of weather temperatures. The watch accuracy is reliable, too. Screw down crown with 100 meter water resistant make it a versatile watch for daily use. The only thing that I wish this watch is having 3 days of power reserves.
I like the idea of microbrands coming into the market because they bring fresh, innovative designs that legacy watch makers are too lazy to produce. In the microbrand field, Zelos is top tier in my opinion. Not only for their manufacturing expertise, but for their creative disigns and employment of exotic materials.
Interesting that of all the ones you’ve could have reviewed it happen to be this model. It’s the first Zelos that really got my attention, so it is pleasing to hear you reviewed it positively. It’s currently a bit out of my price range, but definitely something I’ll consider as a future purchase.
I think the dual color lume is beautiful, tasteful and practical. The contrast is not so busy to interrupt legibility. In fact, it looks to me to enhance it. Nice watch
Another +1 for integrity. A design fail on this watch is to have silver hour and minute hands against silver dial. Black or blued steel would have greatly aided legibility
Zelos is my go-to maker for exotic materials, and I'm enamoured with the damascus stainless steel Aurora with the meteorite dial. The grey colour of the steel case and the grey meteorite are well-matched, so much so that I think it is deliberate. The organic patterns in the damascus steel case and the straighter crystal patterns on the meteorite dial have a very pleasing visual contrast. If you ever get your hands on a steel-case Zelos, I think you would appreciate the weight and heft of it, especially when paired with the smoothness of the screw-down crown, it feels more "luxurious" than the titanium (whatever that word means)
In a YT universe populated by grifting shills, this guy and ID guy are probably the only 'honest' reviewers out there. If manufacturers can buy a person's integrity for a few hundred bucks, what does it say about all the other shills out there?
I'm never going to have 17million subscribers like Marques Brownlee but I trust him completely. The reason - He has never received/kept/taken payment for anything he's ever reviewed. In the long run - that's the way to go 😀
Creditable review, well thought out and explained as always. I never thought of my design taste as ‘middle of the road’ but as I find this particular watch a real jumble aesthetically, it must be. Keep up the great work. Always love your presentation.
It's refreshing to see a watch channel with such integrity-something many others have obviously lost. As for the watch, it's not my thing, but I respect that Zelos has its own design language and is trying to add something to this tier of watchmaking...
My IG feed has been plastered w Zelos, and lately, this Dual Time. I don’t own a Zelos, but I’ve been watching and waiting. It does have something that makes me keep looking at it.
I own 3 Zelos watches. The Blacktip in Ti, Swordfish in SS, and the Thresher 2 in damascus steel. All 3 have unique dials and are a joy to wear! My last Zelos will be a bronze model. Customer service and value for money are excellent!
I don't own a zelos, but this watch has been considering it. Dual time is my favorite complication, and I really like the semi skeletonized look. I like unique watches, and this one is unique which is more than enough for me. The one thing that prevents me from buying it right now is the fact that it's a 40 mm watch. I don't have the best wrist because I have had carpal tunnel over the years and so certain sizes of watches just don't work on my wrist. I have a tutor black bay ceramic that I just can't wear despite the fact that I really like the watch and even though this one is titanium therefore not very heavy, if the size of the watch is too big then all of that is moot. I'm going to have to see if I can find somebody who will let me try this on.
This watch is probably a bit too busy visually for me personally - I think it'd be a bit slow and uncomfortable to read quickly. But it does look really really cool, and definitely puts Zelos on the map for me. I'd basically never heard of them before, and now I'm checking them out and liking what I'm seeing, so it's definitely a success on that front. Your review was informative and fun - great job 😃
I have 2 of their watches. The first was only possible because of their stellar customer service. Because of this, and of course falling in love with a newly released model, I was able to purchase another from them. They have always responded to my inquiries within 12 hrs which is impressive given they are 12-13hrs ahead of me depending on the time of year. If and when they come out with another watch that "calls to me", I wouldn't hesitate to try buying a 3rd. I say try as they usually sell out so dang quickly.
Great to see you review a smaller brand. Your perspective continues to be very meaningful. Have you ever reviewed a brand that began on Kickstarter and has since released additional models? I would love your take on the Avyssos from the Greek brand Ianos.
I recently bought my first Zelos (Swordfish Field 38mm Bronze) and I have been thoroughly impressed! I was going to change out the rubber strap as soon as it arrived, but to my surprise it is quite comfortable and works perfectly with this watch. I must say it has changed my opinion on rubber straps in general.
I have had my Zelos Horizons GMT for over 5 years and it is rock solid and very well made. When I received the watch there was a problem with the clasp, I was immediately sent a new one free of charge.
I’ve owned a few Zelos since the kickstarter days. I’ve sold a few to the Zelos community, but kept my first gen Skyraider skeleton. That watch still works well and gets more attention than anything else I own. Elshan’s customer service is probably the best I’ve ever used or read about. The customer is #1, sometimes to a fault. But Elshan has my respect and I always keep an eye out for the latest launches.
Very good and well balanced review of Zelos and the watch. You pretty much nailed it! I admire Elshan for sticking with his conviction of offering innovative design at a reasonable price. His designs are not for everyone, even his steady fanbase cannot be pleased every time with his offerings., but this never seems to deter him which is good. Overall great review and in my personal experience Zelos watches most times are very well made .
I picked one of these up at the preorder price, this is exactly what I’m looking for out of micro brands these days. Something a little different but still well made and thoughtfully put together. If I wanted yet another fairly standard diver or field watch I’d go for the more established brands, I want something different from my micros.
Aloha from Hawaii, Mike -- You really should look at Serica, a young French-based brand that has very successfully met your challenge of avoiding the mass "convergence" or "cookie-cutter'ism" to watch design of which you speak. Their 5303 Chronometre diver and 8315 GMT are particularly intriguing models, and unlike anything else I've seen. Both retro (almost art deco) and modern; and completely original. After studying the brand for almost 2 years, I recently purchased the 5303 diver: enamel dial, soft-iron cage, COSC movement, and stunningly elegant fine mesh bracelet -- all for about US$1,600. It has far exceeded my expectations, and simply reeks quality and value. Hope you check out the brand. Awesome YT channel. Keep up the tremendous work.
Kudos for sending the watch back, although I am not surprised. I have enormous respect for your integrity, and by sending the watch back you proved me right. Keep up the good work. PS: excellent review
I, personally, don't care for titanium. I like the heft and feel of the stainless steel watch. Regardless of appearance, how it feels on the wrist is important. But a great option, for the price.
Just over a year? It feels like I've been watching you for years now. Here's to a bright future, I'm looking forward to the videos and I'll be fondly looking back at the time when you could personally respond to each comment!
Lol... Yeah. It's been a wild ride so far. You get a comment from me. I generally try to read all comments, but don't have the time to comment on all of them unfortunately 😀😀😀
Enjoyed the review ,fair, honest, and balanced. Full marks, you have come along way in a short time and i think you're going to go fom strength to strength 👍
Well, ten points for integrity. My favourite reviewer, Jody from JOMW, gets stuff donated, even sponsorships, and he is open about accepting it. He doesn't seem to hold back, and with his output, getting sponsored it the only way to sustain his channel. You're my favourite watch pundit. You don't measure the micrometers, you look at the broad picture. And a higher level of independence is needed for that. It's easy to criticise a donated watch, it's harder to criticise a generous company.
I own three Zelos watches (Mako Ti, Spearfish with a La Joux-Perret G100 movement, Swordfish), so you can see I am a bit of a Zelos fanboy... I love that they have a recognizable design language, they try things out, the watches are reasonably priced and of course their looks and build quality. I had one interaction with them regarding a problem with screws on a bracelet and they went out of their way to help me, so I have a really positive view of the brand. The only thing that is a bit of a disappointment is that the batches of watches are so small and immediately sell out, there have been multiple occasions where I was not fast enough pulling the trigger and did not get my favourite choice resp. nothing. I think Zelos is doing this so they don't have watches sitting on the shelf and can start with something fresh, not having money bound in the watches to be sold, but for the buyers this can be a bit frustrating. I really like what they did with the watch you presented and although seeing the date mechanism is cool, it would be too busy looking for me. Also, I am more of a no-date person these days because I am lazy and like to wear different watches all the time.
I have high hopes for Zelos as a brand. While mechanical watcg sales numbers are at historical highs, the number of people actually buying and collecting watches is declining since the smartwatch and the mobile phone. This leads me to believe that upstart brands will really only have a shot, if they can market to collectors as thise looking for one or two watches will prioritize brand prestige and history. The Lindy effext suggests that if zelos can make it another 50 years it'll gain that prestige, but only if it stays alive and makes a name for itself in the meantime. Baltic, Zelos, Christopher Ward and Nomos are my top picks for modern brands destined for longevity through their unique design, technical appeal, and solid craftsmanship. They just need to survive until they can thrive.
I liked all the Zelos watches you showed us in this video, and if I was in my 20's or maybe 30's, I would probably buy the scratched-look meteorite dial Spearfish model. However, I'm in my late 50's and they just say 'young' to me and I ain't young no more! Consequently, if I'm in the market for another diver, I will boringly add another Seiko diver to my collection.
Hello. Love this channel and. Its approach to value. It has helped me starting my collection. Quick question-can you recommend reputable used watch websites to buy watches? Please let me know. Thanks
Thanks. Glad you enjoy my channel. There are a million sites out there - Chrono24 tends to be a good place to start, but I'd always say do your local due dilligence (review sites, forums, etc) and stay geographically close to your seller when starting out. Buying something from Russia if you're in the US is not the first purchase you want to make .😀
I'm about to pull the trigger on a Zelos (not the Spearfish though, I'm looking at the new Thresher), and watched this review again while trying to decide on the watch. From the review and also some of the comments, Zelos should be a good brand to deal with. By the way, I don't really think it matters if the reviewer keeps or returns a review watch as long as all aspects of the watch are clearly presented so that I could make an informed decision for myself. Any opinions injected into a review, to me, is just for my entertainment, which I do welcome (an opinionless product review is usually pretty boring to watch). For me, this goes for reviews of any product.
I have a fair few Zelos watches, but I like big dive watches so with the trend toward smaller watches, haven't bought one in a while. Still a great brand though.
Do not mess with the “Zelots” lol. They are a fierce bunch. Proof of this is that most of their models are sold out. Love their community. Even though I still can’t become a member since the ones I like are not available.
I purchased a Mako GMT a couple months ago. Not that I needed a GMT, but it was closest to the color way I was looking for in a 40mm size. It's an absolute tank of a watch; very sturdy feeling with finishing that exceeds the price. I'm torn about Zelos' availability because they sell out so quickly, but ramping up production would likely result in QC fluctuation at least temporarily. So, overall, a great brand with unique offerings at a very good price (if you can find one in stock).
I have a Zelos abyss 3 in bronze, it’s the watch that got me into this rabbit hole. Now have my grail watch ‘flight master’ with white dial. Getting into pocket watches now 😂
I bought a Zelos Hammerhead, to use as a daily watch. I think its okay, got a good size for me at 44mm. It feels like a good quality watch, it keeps time okay, for a cheap automatic.. I dont think i would buy another Zelos though, i rather want to try something else.
Too busy and too gray. But their simpler and colorful dials looked great. If risky design doesn’t sell, can they deconstruct and reuse parts? Or is too integrated? Do you think the Titanium craze will last ? Maybe it’s the gray dial but the band looks dirty. Off to Zellos’s website
This is a nice watch. I feel like 80/90% works for me, but I lose it around the hands I think. I’m not sure, but at first glance I like it but I’m not sure about something and the more I look, I get less interested. Not sure that’s the right word and of course a watch in person is its own animal. But hearing the build quality is high makes me much more interested in the brand.
Pls Show your watch collection would be awesome Really enjoyed the Video the watch was popping Up everywhere and i Always wondered what to think about IT i own a zelos Mako and IT IS fine but nothing mote or less and that ist where this watch came in ITS a step Up at zelos and now i know what to think about IT thank you for another great Video
What do you think about the newly announced seiko astron gps solar? Although it‘s not released yet, it still looks very good and I think its a cool technology (5x83) other than having mechanical watches only. Would be nice of you to review that watch if you ever get your hands on it.
Great and fair review. Too much going on on the dial to my liking. As for the brand, I fear the hype. Between 500-1000€, there are so many creative options. Between 1000-2500€, I lean towards Sinn, Oris, Longines, vintage Omega… and Zelos doesn’t belong to this (my!) list. I might be wrong, and I am willing to change my mind. By the way, any thoughts on Rado? I can’t quite place this brand
True - GS doesn’t specifically say what their high intensity titanium alloy is composed of, but it’s likely something like a G5 with some percentage og vanadium and aluminium in it - which contributes to the alloy being more “polishable” - zaratsu and all. The Zelos and the other watches I mentioned are all G2 or versions thereof with little to no aluminium og vanadium. That’s why the are darker in shade and can’t be mirror polished and end up having that rougher feel. Cheers 😀
Own a bronze Hammerhead II and an Aurora both w MOP dials. Luv them both. TheHammerhead is a beast and is my beater with presence. The Aurora is my explorer watch wiabeautiful mosaic MOP dial. Both punch way over their price. No issues in2 years or so.
Another great Saturday video drop, Mike! Thanks for owning the hypocrisy of the watch collecting community! Maybe you could do a video about the more out there watch designs, from entry level to luxury, Xeric to Ressence. For me, I've been struggling with whether I should buy a gold watch or not, because gold is out there for me. Looking into that led me to the Rolex Oyster Quartz, a watch I didn't expect to like so much. It's quartz! And very different for Rolex. Maybe I'll get to see one eventually. Thanks for another great video, sir!
When it comes to titanium watches; Grand Seiko is a very divisive watch, but one thing is for sure, Grand Sseiko’s titanium is the most steel like finish I have worn on my wrist. If they up their bracelet design; they would be unstoppable. AKA Mr Valjoux
Cool, not the watch as I cannot relate with any skeleton watch whatsoever, but the review and also Zelos’ “mantra”. Personally I don’t gel with any of their watches and find them a bit too expensive to take a gamble on an online purchase, but I like that they have their own design language and seem to have a good base support. If you really did send the watch back (and I’m going to take your word for it), you have my respect . We all know most reviewers are “bought off” by getting watches and flipping them in order to make a $ or fund their addiction so I take most of their reviews with a bucket load of salt.
Thanks - Yeah. I haven't and won't ever take a watch in exchange. Can't really prove the absence of the watch in my collection but I do have a DHL tracking slip proving something got sent from my home to singapore... 😀
This watch to my eyes trips over at the first hurdle, insufficient contrast between hands and dial face. I sold my Omega Seamaster 300m NTTD titanium because of this reason, the failure to tell the time in low light. Good review, respect your integrity.
I have a first gen Seiko Astron with the best finished titanium I have ever observed. It is the SAST015. It has ceramic as well, which feels super cheap. The watch was under $3,000 new, but I swear it feels more expensive than any watch under $10k, but I cannot tell you why, and the ceramic center links in the bracelet feel cheap, but it just doesn’t matter. It is a huge watch, but I wish someone would review it. I love Astron, but no one else does. I adore the style, but it clearly does not translate outside of Japan. In general I dig Seiko. I have an Aqua Terra, a Club Campus, but only my Formex Essence feels better than a $3,000 or higher Seiko, and I cannot figure out why. I am thinking it is the case, crystal and dial. Really expensive watches have this (Lange, AP and Patrik are all obviously better), but I do not know what exactly I like and where else to find it. Citizen Chronomaster “The Citizen” have the same feeling
Nice review as always. I never was interested in Zelos - didn’t like the logo - until this watch. Like you, love that date complication. Still not sure about the value at > $2k. And from the pictures I’m also not sure the hands stand out enough, common w many skeletons. And I just scratched my skeleton (and tonneau) itch w the Ciga Design Series Z Edge - for less than $300.
I have a titanium Zelos (Mako V3 Frost) , great watch. I like this one, but I would never get it, I don't think. The looks are cool, but the legibility is so bad. I like an interesting watch, but I also like being able to tell the time at a quick glance. Maybe the black version with the yellow accents would be better, but I don't want a black case.
If I had the money, this would definitely be a watch for me. I am not very interested in the " Classically restrained" watches. I like being the one person in the room whose watch doesn't look like everyone else. There's a certain sensation of pride and joy when you are in a room of seasoned collectors, and they all say, "What is that!".
First, thank you for an excellent, balanced review. Just not feeling it. At this price point, I need to feel some connection to the brand, which for me includes some connection with brand history. I have much cheaper beaters from Seiko and significantly more expensive watches from Omega. Watches at this price point are tough. I like Squale at around this price point, though.
I can't get excited about a watch where I have too look closely to see the hands. I prefer to simply glance at my watch to see the time. It may be a cool watch...I suppose that maybe l'm not a cool guy.
I have my one and only Zelos that I have never worn and am wanting to get rid of it. I bought it back in January and after having had a taste of Christopher Ward, there's just no comparison. CW is better finished, IMHO. This isn't to negate your opinion of Zelos, Mike. This video is a good opinion of Zelos without being a fanboi. I just prefer quality over "quirkiness" ,if you will, and CW provides that at a good price. After all, where else can you get a Valjoux 7750 for under $1200, i.e., the c60 'Beast' ?😊
I would agree that CW generally are better put together - they're also slightly more expensive. This watch is on the expensive side but most of the Zelos models are under 1K and for the price, they're pretty good 😀
There might be about 50 VERY fine micro-brand watches in the £250 to £1,000 price range which suit all tastes, so why go luxury and why stay mainstream, why spend more and why spend less ?
Integrity matters…nice move sending the watch back!
Why he is the ONLY reviewer I trust. Keep it up Mike!
This☝️
I’ d sell my children for a watch! Well… may be not the smart one, but definitely for the others!😂
Huge respect, yes
100%

Thanks for sharing your Zelos experience. I'm sure a lot of people will find it helpful 😀

Zelos has been very responsive when I’ve written to them. They have earned my respect. In the past I never would have purchased anything not made in Switzerland, Germany or Japan. It’s a new world.
You got my respect for turning down the offer to keep it. This channel would have completely lost any credibility otherwise. Good call. Cheers.
Can't blame him, it's very ugly
I’m impressed about the offer to keep the watch, but even more impressed about you sending it back!
The only option in my opinion 😀
I have a Zelos Aurora field watch with the ice blue fume dial. You get full titanium case and bracelet, sapphire crystal, micro adjust clasp, sandwich dial with superluminova, 200M wr, screw down crown and an anti-magnetic faraday cage all for under $400. I don't think I have found another watch that gives so much for such a price. Perfect everyday watch! Wow, you turned down a free watch! That's discipline!
I've sent videos of you to Elshan since January. 😁 I am glad that my favorite watchmaker and favorite watches TH-camr get along! ❤
Maybe you're the reason he reached out 😀
@@Mike.thiswatchthatwatch i could be featured in a video or receive the Spearfish. Who knows. 😂 😂
@@Mike.thiswatchthatwatch it is fabulous that the video appeared. Can't wait to see the N review 💪
I’ve been a Zelos fan over five years now. Great designs not pretending to be anything but, genuine. Great service and community, Great brand!
I own 2 Zelos watches. One titanium and one stainless steel with a meteorite dial. Both are absolute keepers. Finishing and wrist feel are way beyond their price. My absolute favorite micro brand . Discovered your channel a few months ago and have been enjoying your no nonsense straight to the point backed with solid reasoning style of content.

Also, huge respect for sending the watch back! Looking forward to more content of yours!
Thanks for leaving the comment. It's really appreciated 😃
Agree. At this price there are some Longines which are beautiful.
Agree - This is their "piece unique" that retails above their usual price point. At the sub 1K point is where they really shine 😀
The Transformer transformed into a ... TableLamp! Transformers, table lamps in disguise!
Greatly agree. That is my main gripe with my GS.
As I grow in my collecting, I appreciate this channel more and more. Thank you for the intelligent measured insights!
Good morning, Mike. Happy Saturday! Thanks for this. Based on it, I'll give Zelos a closer look.
Cheers 😀😀😀
Middle of the road is not a bad thing. 😂😂
It's refreshing to see a watch channel with such integrity-something many others have obviously lost. As for the watch, it's not my thing, but I respect that Zelos has its own design language and is trying to add something to this tier of watchmaking...
Thanks for the feedback 😀
I love that you have a “so many days since your last purchase” at the end of the video. I need to taper off myself and go to a countdown method.
I personally love the visible date design
I've got a Zelos meteorite dial like you show later - best value at their price point for this kind of dial.
This. I like attractive but legible dials
Fair point - It is, as I say, not a design that's "for everyone" 😀
I have 2 of their watches. The first was only possible because of their stellar customer service. Because of this, and of course falling in love with a newly released model, I was able to purchase another from them. They have always responded to my inquiries within 12 hrs which is impressive given they are 12-13hrs ahead of me depending on the time of year. If and when they come out with another watch that "calls to me", I wouldn't hesitate to try buying a 3rd. I say try as they usually sell out so dang quickly.
Good to hear about your experiences .Thanks for sharing them with the community 😀
When I received the watch there was a problem with the clasp,
I was immediately sent a new one free of charge.
Thanks for sharing 😊
12.6mm thick, since I didn't see it in the specs. Not bad for a watch offering two major and not-too-common complications.
It’s seems when a micro does something ambitious complication-wise, it’s like 17mm thick.
Much respect for sending this beautiful watch back. Next time send it to me!
I picked one of these up at the preorder price, this is exactly what I’m looking for out of micro brands these days. Something a little different but still well made and thoughtfully put together. If I wanted yet another fairly standard diver or field watch I’d go for the more established brands, I want something different from my micros.
Thank you for returning the watch.
No other option in my mind, ever 😀
Thanks. Will try my best and will take a look at Serica for sure 😀
Kudos for sending the watch back, although I am not surprised. I have enormous respect for your integrity, and by sending the watch back you proved me right. Keep up the good work. PS: excellent review
Thanks. Yeah... There was never any time where the was an option other than returning it. I think it's better for my channel in the long run 😀
I, personally, don't care for titanium. I like the heft and feel of the stainless steel watch.
Regardless of appearance, how it feels on the wrist is important.
But a great option, for the price.
I agree with your assessment. Thanks again and God bless.
Cheers to you sir 😀
Just over a year? It feels like I've been watching you for years now. Here's to a bright future, I'm looking forward to the videos and I'll be fondly looking back at the time when you could personally respond to each comment!
Lol... Yeah. It's been a wild ride so far. You get a comment from me. I generally try to read all comments, but don't have the time to comment on all of them unfortunately 😀😀😀
Enjoyed the review ,fair, honest, and balanced. Full marks, you have come along way in a short time and i think you're going to go fom strength to strength 👍
Appreciated, thanks 😀
Brilliant, fair review, this is why you're one of the best watch youtube channels.
I don't have a Zelos watch but you are right there is an originality to them, but kind of chunky.Nice presentasion thanks.
I love my carbon moonphase. Solves the lume problem
“A bridge too far…”
I see what you did there, Mike.
I would love to hear you review the Frederique Constant brand
I liked all the Zelos watches you showed us in this video, and if I was in my 20's or maybe 30's, I would probably buy the scratched-look meteorite dial Spearfish model. However, I'm in my late 50's and they just say 'young' to me and I ain't young no more! Consequently, if I'm in the market for another diver, I will boringly add another Seiko diver to my collection.
As for a (skin) diver it might be worth having a look at the Wise AD8.
I do like the Date function and the lume of this watch. Does this band fall into that micro-brand category? Thanks for the review.
I would say yes - There's no definition of "microbrand" or "independent" but I'd say microbrand 😀
Buying something from Russia if you're in the US is not the first purchase you want to make .😀
@@Mike.thiswatchthatwatch Thanks for the tip
Zelos is fantastic. I had a spearfish, sold it and I miss it
I currently have two Zelos watches that I love. They have at least one or two more that I'm interested in.
I’ve got a Zelos Swordfish & it’s a fantastic watch!👍🏼😎🇦🇺
They are solid, on a god way to become proper brand. Spearfish with La Joux-Perret with several iterations is quite nice.
Zelots! 😀😂 Did not occur to me... They do have a very loyal following. Getting a Zelos is (almost) as hard as getting a Rolex 😂
Thanks for sharing - People will find it useful 😀
@@Mike.thiswatchthatwatch I learned it from watching you. 🫡
Informative and enjoyable analysis - as usual.
cheers to you 😀
Great review
It’s important to stick to your values
Thank you 😊
I’d love to see this with a non-skeletonized (boring) dial. The big date and gmt functions are great.
Pls Show your watch collection would be awesome
Really enjoyed the Video the watch was popping Up everywhere and i Always wondered what to think about IT i own a zelos Mako and IT IS fine but nothing mote or less and that ist where this watch came in ITS a step Up at zelos and now i know what to think about IT thank you for another great Video
Cheers 😀
As for my collection? Maybe someday. What I own isn't what I want to be at the forefront of the conversation 😀
What do you think about the newly announced seiko astron gps solar? Although it‘s not released yet, it still looks very good and I think its a cool technology (5x83) other than having mechanical watches only. Would be nice of you to review that watch if you ever get your hands on it.
zelos has some really cool stuff. Most of it isn't for me. But I appreciate them pushing the envelope.
I can’t quite place this brand
my snowflake (titanium)'s bracelet feels as smooth as silk
True - GS doesn’t specifically say what their high intensity titanium alloy is composed of, but it’s likely something like a G5 with some percentage og vanadium and aluminium in it - which contributes to the alloy being more “polishable” - zaratsu and all.
The Zelos and the other watches I mentioned are all G2 or versions thereof with little to no aluminium og vanadium. That’s why the are darker in shade and can’t be mirror polished and end up having that rougher feel.
Cheers 😀
Seriously considering this one, although they did sell out of the sky blue color I wanted, so curious to hear what you think
Thanks for sharing 😀
I’ve set a weekly video limit to keep my downtime to a minimum. Your channel made the cut. Nice change up after last week’s analysis.
Happy to hear that I made the cut 😀
This watch to my eyes trips over at the first hurdle, insufficient contrast between hands and dial face. I sold my Omega Seamaster 300m NTTD titanium because of this reason, the failure to tell the time in low light. Good review, respect your integrity.
Cheers 😀
What do you think about Nivada? I mean it’s not a microbrand. And it’s not a cheap homage but a ‘revival’ of an old brand.
Excellent review and beautiful watch
Thanks and yes it is 😃
Great video as always Zelos is a very interesting brand, hope they had a bigger stock. What do you think about Baltic Hermetique
Ti, light, flimsily feeling….Grand Seiko says hold my beer.
I haven't had in my hand yet but it looks cool and, although I cannot put my finger on it for which exact reason, it looks like 50's brutalism to me
First, thank you for an excellent, balanced review. Just not feeling it. At this price point, I need to feel some connection to the brand, which for me includes some connection with brand history. I have much cheaper beaters from Seiko and significantly more expensive watches from Omega. Watches at this price point are tough. I like Squale at around this price point, though.
We like what we like. SQUAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEE 😂😂😂
They didnt mention the case the thickness on their website, they pulled the “case thickness without the glass” move 😅
The thickness is less than 12mm
How did you find the readability in person? I struggle in the review videos…
It was never an issue - It's much better than you think from photos (but it's no "white hands over black dial" level of legibility)😀
