    Wonderful, joyful, reaction, Melvin.👍👍 Ann Wilson is widely acknowledged as one of the great voices in Rock. I couldn't imagine a child coming close. However Vinya didn't just "knock it out of the park", she knocked it out of the State. Amazing. Also Ella's harmonies were spot-on. Ellen's bass and Yoyoka's drums power this along, like a juggernaut. Guitars were absolutely immaculate. The entire band were fabulous. They weren't _just_ brilliant individually, they were air-tight. I hope they are all enjoying making music for decades to come. I first heard this in 1977, and it's still great.
    They did two other covers in the same session, Muse "Hysteria", and Boston "Piece of Mind". Their cover of Muse "Hysteria" is *_better_* than faultless!
    Since making this Yoyoka, who's currently living in Los Angeles on an Artists visa, formed a band with guitarist Charlotte and two other young female musicians. They've called themselves "Knockout". That is such a great band name I'm surprised it wasn't already taken. Yoyoka released her album of collaborations on her 15th birthday, and they played at her Birthday Party in an LA venue.
    Best Wishes. ☮
    Sorry for coming along so late. I haven't been too clever recently.

      Hey man - wondered where you'd been and hope you are feeling better? 👍

      @gbulmer. Another late-comer here. Not absolutely sure but wasn't the first time Yoyoka played this one of her Whisky a Go Go gigs. In cold, 1 hour to learn it and out on stage with adult pros and no rehearsal or sound check? Happy New Year.

      @@andrewplumb6544 Thank you for replying. I don't know if Whisky A Go-Go gigs ran the way you describe. I've read comments under a video of an early Yoyoka Whisky A Go-Go video by a person who claimed to run those "Ultimate Jam Night" events in response to a harsh, and apparently ignorant comment. The 'curator' of UJN said the songs were announced ahead of the event. That made sense. The musicians, and maybe more importantly audience, knew what's planned. I got the impression musicians "volunteered" to play a song ahead of time, and were 'accepted' too. So they knew if they were going to appear before travelling for hours to get there. IIRC , the 'curator' said often musicians had never played with the others, and there were no rehearsals or sound checks, which provokes the "Jam" vibes.
      To be fair, Yoyoka could probably learn most "classic rock" drum parts in an hour nowadays. She said straightforward songs took 2 or 3 'listens' when she was 8-9yo. She's absorbed many of the top 50 drummers (none-Jazz, none-metal) by playing covers. Also, she is amazing when she plays along to a song she's never heard before. She can extemporise completely solid, very acceptable drum parts while she hears a song. She could probably do a "Drumeo: Yoyoka hears XXX for the first time" in 20-25 minutes, though she might like more time to tune the drums and talk to the engineers about the mics and mix. 😀
      Happy, Peaceful New Year. ☮

      @@andrewplumb6544 Doh! I believe you are very likely correct, Yoyoka played "Barracuda" first at a Whisky A Go-Go.
      Yoyoka's _Heart - Barracuda (Live Cover) at Whisky A Go-Go_ ① released Mar 14, 2024
      This Kids Rock for Kids "Barracuda" was recorded at the same session as Muse "Hysteria" ②, released May 11, 2024
      One of several comments I read about how "Ultimate Jam Night" operates is under that Yoyoka Whisky A Go-Go video, by adamversus ③. The comment has replies, with no one dissenting their claim to run the event.
      To save effort, here's adamversus comment (link below ③):
      _"This is a completely unrehearsed production where high pedigree touring and session musicians play both covers and originals._
      _The lineups are curated by us at Ultimate Jam Night matching skill sets and talents of performers._
      _What you’re watching are five performers who have never played together and don’t even know each other. They are given the song in advance and each learns their part._
      _Then they get up and do it live just as you see here in real time-zero rehearsal._
      Best Wishes for 2025. ☮

    These kids are brill. I Think the likes of Geezer Butler did the first chugging style in Black Sabbath.

      It's that gallop rhythm. Am sure there are plenty of samples but this song is one of the most commercial which made it jump out at you.

    Tight? surely is!
    You can't find a tighter pocket (musically) under 15 than Yoyoka on drums and "Ellen plays bass".
    Another great song of them is their cover of "Hysteria" by Muse!

      I don't think they have a name as such. It's just a colab between lots of talented kids as part of the KRFK charity.

    Great reaction and thanks for reacting to these talented kids. They did one more song that day, Hysteria by Muse, well worth a listen. Also, Yoyoka just turned 15 and released an album featuring some great musicians. Most of the songs are on her channel along with some of the live performances at her release party.

    Don't let Michael Shenker hear you say that Heart came up with the galloping sound, that song is from 1977, Shenker started it in 1974 with UFO

    These kids are really into it, sounded very good. After our conversation about Harper, we didn't think you'd be interested in a children's band. If that's the case, we have another great recommendation for you (yes, you already have some of our recommendations on your list. You can do a Rei and Miyu week. 🤣): "USSEEWA by Awesome Kid Band" https:/ /th-cam.com/video/HraQLcH01D0/w-d-xo.html
    Do you actually know the unwritten rule that it is forbidden to pause in the middle of a guitar solo? 🤔😉
    Oh, and there's nothing wrong with us. 😂😂

      @@melvinthinks Only in the eyes of homophobic people and hardcore Lovebites fans is there something wrong with us. 😜
      What do you think of our suggestion to do a Rei and Miyu week? 😁😅 One song might not get very many views, but another might get even more. There's definitely a lot of variety, at least musically, even if not geographically. 😉

    • @melvinthinks
      @melvinthinks  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      My music reaction to do list is already HUGE! lol And you want me dedicate a whole week to just your recommendations? 😁 As much as I like the idea, I won't make promises I can't keep and give you false hope. There's a lot of great music out there, and unfortunately not enough hours in the day to cover every single request I receive, whilst also trying to make videos that I'm excited to hear too.

    • @Rei_and_Miyu
      @Rei_and_Miyu หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@melvinthinks Our suggestion was not entirely serious. But it's nice that you still somehow like the idea. And we would have liked it too, but of course we don't expect it. We're not that self-centered, just a little ironic and slightly sarcastic every now and then. 😅

    • @melvinthinks
      @melvinthinks  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I know 😁 But there are aspects of your idea that I like too. Not necessarily a week of recommendations from a sole viewer, but there's definitely things I'd like to try in the future to engage the community more and drive the channel forward. It's why I've tried these "US vs UK" videos of late, which will inevitably open up to the rest of the world. I'm willing to try stuff. Sometimes it works. Most of the time it doesn't! lol
      And there is no place for homophobia on my channel whatsoever 🏳‍🌈 😘 I welcome everyone here. Well, aside from Limp Bizkit fans, but that's another story 😆

    Top notch! This was a great cover! I just found a cover of Deadly Sinners by 3 Inches of Blood by a talented 12 year old Theo Will you should check out. The next generation of talent that is coming gives me great hope for the future.

      I just love seeing and hearing kids playing classic rock and old-school metal stuff. I guess it's not that cool for them to do so amongst classmates etc. which definitely gives me hope. Same for Angelina Jordan. Slightly different, but covers more of the legends vs current trends.
