I think I like the shirt without the pockets. It looks more designer than cute without the pockets. I love the trim on the collar and along the placket. The panel on the back is stunning.
Totally agree about the pockets! You turned into a beautiful classy piece. Nothing like a white shirt and especially one with the details you added, especially the ribbon. And the nice surprise in the back! xox
@@TodayinJensSewingRoom Thank you, Jen. The other day I was reading on wisdom and came across a very familiar Micah 6:8! In the journal part, we’ll I had to mention you and how you share a bit of Jesus!
@@theseamstressatthecottage thank you! I wore it to Wisconsin Quilt Show and immediately someone noticed the pattern on the back. I had a lovely chat with two ladies😊
I really like your shirt; you definitely maximized your panel! You have so much patience with the design process. If you are aiming for a more elegant vibe then removing the pockets was a great idea. I can't help but wonder what they would look like as pockets on the lower front half, like when you have pockets on a jacket. That would give it more of a artsy vibe. The ribbon trim was perfect. Whatever you decide, I think you are really going to enjoy wearing your new shirt. I've gotten my slip traced out, but am dithering over what fabric to use. I have a gorgeous embroidered rayon, but do I really want to use that on a slip that no one else will be able to appreciate, but me? I'm leaning toward yes. And I agree with a your previous comment that many ladies would benefit from wearing a slip. I think sometimes that ladies don't wear slips because they have never had a well fitting one in a cotton batiste or a soft rayon or a handkerchief linen. If all you've ever worn is the form fitting spandex things they sell now, you're not going to be very motivated to wear them, in my opinion.
@@nadinewoods6971 I think you’re on to a clue as to why ladies ditched slips! I never thought about the ones they sell now. They probably ride up the body just like all the other types of things they make out of that fabric! I’ve had more store bought tees that I never wore because I was constantly pulling them down! I thought about placing pockets at the bottom. I might look at it. I think what went wrong was they were too small. Thank you for watching. I always look forward to hearing from you.

@@Lorij83 Thank you! I wore it to a quilt show and was stopped by two ladies that recognized the panel! I enjoyed making it.

Oh wonderful!
I’m with you, as much as I think the pockets are very cute, I think it takes away from the classic lines of the top.
@@sewlovemydogs Thank you! I love that shirt. I have a rayon panel that I’m considering using in a top, I’ve played around with several ideas.
